Selfie Sunday and Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! Β  I am enjoying my heated blanket here.

Mom is going to cut into my post to do her Ten Things of Thankful. Before that though, I want to tell you about my special week of Thanksgiving giveaways. We are so thankful to all of you for your friendship that we are going to have giveaways three days in a row so be sure to come back tomorrow.

Here are mom’s thankfuls:

  1. A box of books from my friends, they included books for the great one too.
  2. . My friend came over to clean the cat room, Polar Bear has feline herpes and makes quite a mess when he sneezes everywhere.
  3. Pedicure with my mom.
  4. Chinese food after pedicure.
  5. Shopping trip with my mom.
  6. A bargain on a cat bed at the store 5Below, $5
  7. Emmy continues to sit on me and even spends part of the night on the bed.
  8. A spare bed to retreat to when hubby snores too loud, I used to wear earplugs, but they are uncomfortable.
  9. Finally had time to do some crocheting so I made 15 toys to donate to be sold for the local shelter.
  10. Brussels sprouts fresh from the garden, even tastier after the frost and the best part is the hubby cleans them off and cooks them for me.

We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for our first giveaway.

  1. Oooh fresh Brussels sprouts sound absolutely yummy! I never had them as a kid (at least, I don’t remember having any). The first time I had them was after we moved here to Texas. I love them and wish they’d been a part of my life for a lot longer than 13 years. πŸ™‚

That is a great list of thankfuls. I think it is so wonderful that you have such a great relationship with your mama. Just wonderful.

David used to snore something fierce, too. I don’t know what happened to change it, but now when he does snore, it is very quiet. He used to be as loud as a jet engine! There was nowhere in the house I could go to get away from it. Maybe things will get quieter for your husband along the way, too. I sure hope so for you. πŸ™‚

How sweet that Emmy is spending more time with you and sitting on you. That is great!

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed weekend.

    1. I can sleep through anything, but he falls asleep first and I can’t fall asleep to snoring. πŸ™‚

  2. YAY for heated blankies this time of year………and we love your “thankfuls” – Mom is a big fan of brussel sprouts too – we just bet they are even BETTER right from the garden. So happy to hear that Emmy is cozying up – she’s finally feeling part of the family there – isn’t that great?! HAPPY SUNDAY!

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. Warm pads and Brussels’ sprouts and pedicures! Oh, my! So many wonderful things in this world.

Yes, i will be back tomorrow, with the understanding that i already won back at Easter so i am keeping myself out of the give aways for a while.

  4. Hey, wait a minute- a heated blanket?!! I’ve gotta talk to mom and dad. Oh, and dad lovvvves Brussels sprouts, but we don’t love him after he eats them…

  5. Mom is wild about Brussels sprouts. Fresh ones…oh my goodness. Died and gone to heaven. I am so glad your mom got help with the cat room. When I had a cold a couple of years ago, I was sleeping as always with mom and the worst thing was my sneezing on her up close and personal.. She couldn’t get away from it. She sure hauled me into the Dr. as soon as she got up. XXX

  6. I always enjoy your thankful posts. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your peeps. β™₯

  7. Those are some happy happy thankfuls! I love Brussels sprouts! Happy Emmy is spending time with you. CH snores too and I spend many a night on the couch… it is as far away as I can get from the snoring. How nice to have good fun with your Mom!

  8. That is so great that you have a heated blanket. Bet that feels good. That sure is a bunch of good things to be thankful for. You all have a super Sunday.

  9. Prancie, you and our pal, Teddy, are almost look-a-likes. We didn’t realize! Your mom always has the best thankfuls. Our mom needs to clean off the bed in the guest room so she (and all of us) can retreat when our dad snores. Thanks for coming to see us and for hopping. 10. Garden grown Brussels sprouts!! Yummmmy don’t laugh but my peeps have never seen it growing..just in the store. I think it is to hot for it to grow here unless planted in the fall
    Hugs madi and mom

  11. Now that is a great list. Though I dont count brussels in this Palace I know the peep does secretly like them… especially if someone else at another place does the cooking MOL

  12. The first time I saw garden Brussels sprouts I could not believe how they grow! Love your 10 things. Heated blankets, Emmy on the bed, pedicures, crochet time, pedicures, lunch with Moms absolutely the best things to be thankful for.

  13. I need to make sure that Princess Cookie Cat doesn’t see this post otherwise she’ll be wanting a heated blanket too. That’s a fabulous list of things to be thankful for and I hope the coming week has just as many if not more.

  14. There is certainly lots to be thankful for and that’s a great list! I’ve never liked Brussels sprouts but maybe I just haven’t had them prepared properly! Happy Sunday! πŸ˜€

  15. It’s heated blanket season, Prancie! Yay! You are always so kind, giving away so many goodies. We can’t wait to see what you have in store. And, as always, such wonderful Thankfuls!

  16. prancie, how wonderful that you have a heated blanket!

My husband snores loudly too and I often sleep in our spare bed. I use earplugs, but they don’t bother me. That’s wonderful about #9! All your thankful items are so nice.

  17. Heated blankets are so cozy.
My Mom often has to wipe the windows and wood floor by my beds because I sneeze a lot. But it’s not sick sneezing, so I’m sure you have a bigger cleaning job (with germs and snot).

  18. Mee-you Prancie a heatin pad??? WAY way kewl so to speek mee Sisfur! Yur lookin cozy there. Do you have snow? It has been snowin a lot here today an berry chilley!! PHOOEY!!!

    1. No snow, one morning we had a little, but it melted when it hit the ground. You and your mum need a heated blankie. nose rubs and XO

  19. You have all kinds of good thankfuls here, Ellen! Friends who send books or come to help clean are the best! πŸ™‚ Emmy is doing so good! My feral boys are also becoming very friendly and love to get extra attention. <3 A $5 cat bed is a steal, it's so fun to find great buys like that!

I love Chinese, my mom used to take us to a Chinese restaurant when we went out of town shopping and it started a life-long appreciation for it. Now it brings back good memories. I'm glad you got to share it with your Mom, and the pedicure too!

I am glad you have an extra bed for a good night's sleep when you need it too. I am the one who snores in our house, but Papa Bear does well with earplugs. It was so kind of you to crochet toys to donate. You are always doing good things!

I would like to say I like brussel sprouts, but no I don't. I've tried them twice because they look so cute, but to me they taste bitter. How do you cook them? Papa Bear grew up eating them and often has them if we go out somewhere and they are on the menu.

Wishing you a great week ahead, and a blessed Thanksgiving! XOXO

    1. I just boil the brussels sprouts. We wait until after the frost to pick them and they are not bitter after that. I am spoiled now so when I have ones from the store, they are not good. I am glad your ferals are more trusting now. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving too. XO

  20. That looks like a really comfy blanky bed. We so luv us a heated blanky bed. Enjoy. Great fankfuls awnty Ellen. We’re blest to have ya’ll as furiends. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  21. Bargains are good! brussel sprouts are bad!

lol… never been much a vegetable person to begin with and (I suspect) that brussel sprouts are a more acquired taste than some of the more middle of the road ones, like corn and potatoes and…. corn?
Trust everyone where you are will have a good Thanksgiving.

  22. We love to roast our Brussels sprouts. Way more delish than the soggy yucky things we got as kids…our boys like them too. So they are a renewed discovery at our den:)

Hubby used to snore so loud it was like a truck that never could get away from the house. I sleep in a separate bedroom with a fan going…helps a bit. You are right, earplugs are not comfortable.

    1. I need to try to roast them, I bet they would be even better that way. I can still here him in the next room, but not as bad. πŸ™‚

  23. I just received brussel sprouts in my produce box todayβ€”not quite as good as home-grown, but I’m looking forward to them!

  24. I haven’t bought brussel sprouts in a long time. I’ll have to buy some and roast them with some other vegetables. That’s my favorite way to eat them.

If snorers sleep on their sides rather than on their backs it seems to help. Having the head of the bead elevated a little helps some too, as do CPAP machines.

I’m glad you had a good time with your Mom. We stopped at a Chinese restaurant today, and I had Wonton soup. Yummy!
