Phoebe’s Poem

Hi everyone! Today is the day my friend Sammy writes a poem for his blog. I am not an expert poet like he is, but I gave it a try.  I love my Grammie so very much that I wanted to write one for her.

How Do I Love Grammie?

by Phoebe

How do I love my Grammie?
Let me count the ways.
I love you more than treats and party mix.
More than window whiffs and sun beams
and cat grass and my daily nip fix
How many ways was that?
I hope you counted because I can’t
I am just a beautiful cat.

My friends, Pipo and Minko wrote one to help me and they did a great job:

I love my Grammie
She visits and we play.
She treats me, too.
I wish she’d always stay!

I do wish she would always stay- we would have so much fun.

Mom asked me to post the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. She came up with the first 2 and McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2. Maybe some week she will let me come up with some.

  1. What a great poem, Phoebe! Its pawrfect!! We love how you show your love to your Grammie with your verseification of your feelings:)

Um, it makes ours look trivial, MOL!

Here are our fill in answers:

    1. My feelings get hurt when my sister doesn’t like my clothes…but she always furgets that my style is way different than hers…we are as unlike each other as night and day!
    2. I am excited about getting the shades that Phoebe is sending on a fashion mission..We are going to have fun with those…you betcha!
    3. Work first, then play, including blogging and other fun stuff…but I always break this rule, tee-hee.
    4. One time, I had spiders in my bed, that’s why I am furry scared of even a teeny one, OMC!

    1. Great answers. I like spiders- but not in bed. I am sure you will both look great in the shades- MJF can try them too, but they are probably too small for him.

  2. You had fun with poetry. Awesome. And you did a great job! Grammie lucky, to be so loved. You are sweet.

The fill-ins are a challenge, too! I always just sit down and do them, rather than contemplate them at length. I like them. Thanks for being my partner. ❤

    1. Phoebe thanks you, she is glad you liked her poem. I think I spend too much time thinking about my answers, I should try to be spontaneous with them. Thank you for being my partner too . XO

  3. Well done Phoebe! You did a wonderful poem to your Grammie and I know she will be SO EXCITED that you wrote one for her. Maybe you’ll even get extra treats or a dollar for your piggy bank! Thanks for playing along with the poem day…………We’ll be “filling in” with you tomorrow…….

    Love, Sammy

    1. Thank you Sammy. I am glad you are joining the fill-ins, we enjoy your answers. XO and love to you and your Mom.

  4. That poem is so purrfect for your grammie, Phoebe. She’s sure to love it. I’ve never been a poet, but you sure are one!

And, the fill-ins for tomorrow look like so much fun. So, we’re off to go brainstorm for our answers…

    1. Thank you, I am gld you like the poem and that you are joining the fill-ins tomorrow 🙂

  8. Lovely poetry! Make me want to compose my own…hmmm….
    Fur flying in the sunshine
    Drifts through the air
    Makes me sneeze
    And lands everywhere!

  9. We love your poem Phoebe…and you really are a beautiful cat!

Tell your Mama our Mama hopes to go to Blog Paws next year too. She couldn’t go this year because Wilhelmina is too young to board and she would worry about her too much. Also, the Canadian dollar is at an all time low so the green papers would add up for the trip itself! It would be great if your Mama went next year and our maams could meet 🙂

Mes does not blog on Fridays so mes is going to post MY answers in your comments today (if that is OK).

    2. I am excited about the Smoke and Joe Campaign!
    3. LOVE first, then FOOD.
    4. One time, I stepped in Mommy’s paint and left blue footprints all over the house, that’s why Mommy does not leave her paints around any more!!!

    Nellie

    1. Thank you, I am glad you like the poem. Thank you for your answers, they are great except your Mommy should not call you that awful name. I bet your butt smells wonderful. XO

  12. Oooh, this should be inneresting.

    1. My feelings get hurt when TW locks me out of our bedroom at night.
    2. I am excited about my blog post tomorrow and each day.
    3. Food first, then play.
    4. One time, I laid against TW and she made a HUGE fuss over it, that’s why I’d rather bite her.

    1. Those are great answers! I am sorry you get locked out of the bedroom, that is not right. You should cuddle TW once in a while.

  13. LOVE the poem.
My feelings get hurt when I feel unjustly accused of something I did not do. A leftover from childhood…
I am excited about almost everything every day because there is always something new to get thrilled about.
Hey, this is an easy one: I eat first, then sleep.
Once I climbed on the john and went pee pee and mama almost fainted.

    1. Really? You know how to use the human potty? That is cool. Our Mom keeps it shut so we won’t drink out of it 🙂

  14. Phoebe! What great poetry to celebrate your Grammie! Mom and I
    both loved it.

    Lets see: (from mom, really)

1 MY feelings get hurt when people go back on their word.
2 I am excited about feeling so good after working out after a LONG time not.
    3 Effort first, then result.
4 One time I took a chance on longer and longer hilly walks and it paid off with strength and conditioning.
