Hi everyone. I am exhausted.

The Great One really rubs me the wrong way. Really, I let her pet me now to make Mom happy. She knows not to rub my head, but she rubs my tushy in a circular motion so sometimes it is the wrong way. Sigh!

She made some cute little soap pads out of paper towels, soap and markers.

You just take one and wet it and the soap comes out. Mom thinks it is a great idea to have in her purse for when a place doesn’t have soap.

Mom is taking advice from Typhoid Mary’s Furby now. The newer versions will tell you a fortune and it told Mom she would tap dance to happiness. Mom had been thinking about taking a tap class and that was the push she needed so she starts in September. If they tell her she needs to be in a recital though, she will quit. She is just doing it for exercise and fun. Typhoid Mary is going to tap this year too and jazz and hip hop and acro. Oh my!

Everyone has been behaving. Well, except Penelope. She is arthritic so she needs some help grooming and doesn’t like that so when Mom brushes her back she tries to scratch her. And she will chase Mom across the room to whap her. It is kind of funny though. That old gal can move fast ( Penelope, not my mom).

Well, that is all for this week. I need to rest up as these last few weeks before school starts are going to be tough.

  3. Well, Rosie you tell your mama to get that soap towel idea on the MARKET and make a bundle. Your mama must send the idea to herself, written out, NOW, to protect it and ..I think my mama will write this to your mama. Ay, there’s the rub!

    1. That would be wise, but The Great One got the idea from Youtube so it isn’t her idea. XO

  5. Rosie that is quite the scoop today. We sure hope mom enjoys tap dancing. I bet that would be fun but I have to say at my age I’ll just stick to walking and riding my bike. Do not ask me to get up in front of an audience. I like the soap idea that is clever in a good idea to put in a little plastic bag and Tuck into my purse.

  6. Bravo to your Mommy ’bout the tap dancing, mine has a challenge for movement beyond basic walking! Me is loving Penelope’s style, I is only 5, so no excuses, but still love to swat or whap mine Mommy to “teach” her what to do vs what not to do. I mean how will they ever learn …

  8. Rosie, thank you for the latest scoop. I love the idea of the soap pads, and your mom taking tap dancing is great. I remember taking tap dancing when I was a child, and I’ve used dancing as exercise ever since, because it’s more fun.

  14. Those soap pads sound quite interesting. It is annoying when someone pets us the “wrong” way. You do look cute, if a tad miffed, in your photo. We would love to see Mom Ellen being chased at and then whapped. Penelope definitely has some spunk.     Good luck to your mom with the tap dancing. It’s fun, I did it as a kid but I’m not really good at things like that.

  21. Oh, Ellen, that will be so much fun tap dancing away! I loved tap dancing when I was little. I was terrible but nobody burst my bubble and told me. But I was a quirky kid just like I am quirky now… so there’s that.
    Rosie, at least you are patient with TGO about the petting/rubbing you the wrong way. I have a vision of your Mom running away from Penelope 🙂 Z Cat chased me and slapped my ankles 🙂

  23. Those soap sheets sound like a very practical idea. And you know, you should really give those circular pets a try – you might find you enjoy them:). Mom is sad here because the twins and their big sister will all be headed off to college this weekend. She is going to miss them so much.

    Chaplin: “They used to do some tap at the studio where our Mama and Dada go! They never did tap themselves but their friends did. Apparently it was pretty cool, not to mention noisy!”
