Hi everyone. Last week, some of you told me that boring is a good thing and boy, were you right. We had some excitement here last Thursday. My dad was in the barn getting his riding mower ready for the season. There was a board leaning against the barn door and he bumped the door and the board bonked him on the head. He came in the house with blood dripping down his head. Good thing my mom was here. She wiped it off with cool water and gave him a facecloth to hold there while she drove him to the ER. Apparently bleeding heads don’t trump anything because it took 3 hours for him to be seen. Then they did a cat scan (it was fine) and he got one staple and that was all. He bleeds a lot because he is on a blood thinner.
Now, I have a favor to ask. Do any of you remember the blog, The Whiskeratti? Cathy had two cats, Toby and Princess Leia. My brother, Brody had a romance with Leia. After they passed, the blog closed, but my mom is still friends with Cathy on Facebook. She is having a tough time and could use some help with food and gas. No pressure, but if anyone wants to help, her paypal is emeraldsmisting@aol.com. And if you can’t help, you could always say a prayer for her. Thank you.
Well, I am hoping for a boring week.
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Yikes! Glad that didn’t turn out worse…now your Dad has a badge of honor for being the lawnmower dude! I assume the lawn waited for it’s mowing session…
We’ll pray for better times for your friend.
He has a shirt that says Lawn Ranger. 🙂 XO
Oh I’m so sorry your Dad got a head bump like that! Many hopes and purrs he heals quickly! I do remember The Whiskeratti, though vaguely. Sending Cathy purrs. That picture of Rosie is gorgeous! XO
Thank you. Rosie is a pretty girl. XO
Oh, your poor bonked on the head papa! SO glad he’s himself and no troubles except a staple! Happy to help Cathy.
Thank you. And thank you for helping Cathy. XO
ouch! Poor Mr. David……we’re glad he’s OK. We’re sorry about your friend Cathy – lots of people are having tough times and we wish everyone who is “better days”.
Love and Hugs, Teddy (and Mom)
Thank you. XO and love to you.
So relieved that your dad is okay🙏🏼Here’s a Healing Pawkiss just for him and for all of you a Double Pawkiss too🐾😽💞
We remember the names of the kitties, but didn’t have contact with Cathy. Will send Healing and purrayers for better times🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you. XO
Oh, your poor dad, getting a bonk on the head. I’m relieved it wasn’t extremely serious, and I hope he heals quickly. I didn’t know The Whiskeratti. Sending Cathy prayers and positive vibes.
Thank you. And thanks for the prayers. XO
Head wounds don’t seem to matter at the ER. My husband waited for hours and bled profusely. The reception staff had to get what looked like doggy piddle pads to sop up the blood (the towel we brought was already dripping). He’s not on prescription blood thinners but on a high dose of fish oil for his arthritis and that does the same thing. He had 8 stitches and the scan showed nothing unusual. Boring is a good thing!
WOW! Your husband’s sounds like it was bleeding even more than this was.
I am glad the Dad is ok! 🙏
Thank you. Me too. XO
I’m so glad your Mom took your Dad to the ER. My Dad died as a result of a bonk on the head. He was on blood thinners too and had a brain bleed that killed him.
Oh my! Purrs for you as this incident brought up sad memories.
Thank you.
Thank you. I am so sorry that happened to your dad. XO
Glad your dad is okay! Getting bonked on the head is no fun.
Thank you. XO
Head wounds bleed a lot anyhow, so this must have been scary!
Cannot help it; when I read ‘staple’, I’m thinking of the red Swingline stapler from “Office Space”…hahaha.
June 1st was a doozy, wasn’t it?
Yes, very scary. XO
We’re glad your Dad is okay. Head injuries bleed a lot and then adding the blood thinners had to make it really bad. Boring is good.
Thank you. Yes, boring is good. XO
Charlee: “We’re glad your dad is okay, Rosie! And it’s a good thing your mom took him in to get checked out! Bonks on the head are nothing to fool around with!”
Chaplin: “Yes, apparently even a minor one can cause bleeding inside your skull or brain, and that is something you definitely do not want. Trust us, we know!”
Thank you. Yes, we were worried about that.
Oh no on dad having an accident. I’m glad you were home to care for him.
Prayers for your friend.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to you. ♥
Thank you. And thank you for the prayers. XO
So glad your Dad is okay ~ head injuries I have heard do tend to bleed excessively ~ Prayers for your friend also ~
Sweet kitty photo ~ Hugs ^_^
Thank you. XO
I want your Dad to stick to boring! I have a feeling that it is never boring at the Meowing Crew’s house. A staple… seems like serious business to me. So glad your Mom took good care of him. I didn’t know Cathy or her blog… am sending prayers for your friend and and prayers that things turn around in our country so that people can afford what they need to live.
Well reported this Tuesday, Rosie.
Thank you. And thank you for the prayers for Cathy. XO

Beautiful pic of you, Rosie.
Thank you. XO
I’m so sorry that happened to your dad and very happy to know he wasn’t injured more seriously. ~hugs~ Best wishes to Cathy. I hope her situation improves. Be well!
Thank you. xO
We do remember The Whiskeratti and are sending purrayers and POTP for Cathy. And for your Dad too – even without blood thinners head wounds bleed like crazy.
We noticed a lot of others commented on similar incidents, and added that old gag line “X-Rays of his head showed nothing.”
Purrs for all.
Thank you for praying for Cathy. My hubby made that joke too. :)XO

Your poor dad! This makes me think of a funny family story – many years ago my beloved Uncle Bob (who is no longer with us) went off the road during a snowstorm while driving to work. These were the days before cell phones so he walked home. When he walked in the house with blood dripping down his face my aunt’s first thought was that he had been shot! Our whole family laughed at that story for the longest time. Why on earth would that be her first thought? LOL
That is funny. That did not cross my mind. 🙂
Glad your Dad is alright. Hope the rest of the week is boring. Cute photo.
Thank you.:)
Head wounds definitely bleed more than other wounds, too, which likely didn’t help. Hope all is healing well. Sorry to hear about your mom’s friend having a rough time.

He is getting the staple out tomorrow. 🙂
I’m so sorry about your dad and his accident. It’s way no fun to go to the ER and have to wait a long time.
I think I remember reading about The Whiskeratti, or seeing the name years ago on a blog, but I did not know them well and didn’t even realize there was a Cat Blogosphere. I will be praying for Cathy.
Thank you. I am sure she will appreciate your prayers. XO
Oh no, so sorry to learn your Dad got injured. Hope it heals quickly and there are no lingering reprecussions. Head injuries always scare me. Unfortunately ER’s all over the country have long wait times. It’s a sad state of healthcare.
Hope your friend receives what she needs and life gets better for her.
Thank you. Yes, it is. XO
Dear Rosie, it took me until today to find this entry. Blogger and even Cat Blogosphere were no help. We are glad Dad is OK but a sore head. Being on blood thinner we’d of thought he’d been seen immediately.
Sorry I was hard to find. Thank you. XO
Heads wounds bleed a lot even if one is not on blood thinners. Happy everything turned out okaySending prayers to Cathy! XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
A lot of people said that, funny, I never knew, but now I do. And thank you for the prayers for Cathy. XO
