Mewsic Moves Me

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Mewsic Moves Me (hosted by Curious as a Cathy, Xmas Dolly, JAmerican Spice and Stacy Uncorked.) The mewsic theme this week is songs with unusual instruments.

  1. Good Vibrations ( The Beach Boys, 1966)- From what I found online, the unusual instrument was thought to be a theremin, but was something similar invented by Paul Tanner that was easier to play.

2. Not a song, but a very cool building in Germany that plays music when it rains.

The Great One was playing with my Halloween village. Do you notice anything unusual?

Sammy wants you all to know his tummy is just as cute as Joanie’s tummy.

  1. Hi, Sammy, Can petcretary come and snorgle your tummy?? MOL!
Your Great One has a great imagination:) Love how she placed all those not so spooky figures.

A theremin sounds like something strange but true! Our hands must have a lot of electrical forces in them to be able to play that, OMC!

That rain house looks charming. Rain makes it tinkle? The sweet sound of falling rain…

Petcretaryls fave (not that) strange instument is the Glass Harmonica. It has its ow disticnt sound…and once she won tickets to a concert by calling in and correctly identifying one. The concert was on her working day, so she gifted them to her parents who thoroughly enjoyed that evening of a Haydn Mass (Lord Nelson). Her Mom was an amateur soprano….

    1. Sammy says yes, he loves tummy rubs. That is nice that petrecary gave her folks the tickets and they enjoyed the concert. XO

  2. Well of course Sammy’s tummy is snorgle-worthy. Ginger tummies are always like that! As for the Halloween village – I see a lot of piggies all over the place and I should imagine it’s a dangerous place for pigs in a village of SCARY characters – they might want hot dogs for lunch! EEEEEK!

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. Ellen,

The YT clip of the building that plays mewsic when it rains is quite interesting. I like that you included this in today’s theme. Great job!

  4. Where did all those pigs come from? Is that Peppa Pig and her family?

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  5. Oh, you brought back some memories with The Beach Boys. Though we were born after their time, my sister and I used to listen to their music on repeat as kids. And I’m jealous of Peppa Pig (I think that’s her name?). I would love to live in that Halloween village! Oh, and Sammy, of course your tummy is adorable!

  6. What a magnificent tummy! Good thing my Mommy is not there…And the “Sining” Building is so furry cool!
    Love the Halloween village!

  7. Darn right Sammie. The best picture of all would be with EVERYONE on their backs…a group tummy shot. XXXX

  8. OMC We bet that buildin’ could get really annoyin’ ifin you were tryin’ to sleep. MOL But it is cool. Big hugs

  9. Hmmmmmm Where’d our comment go? Well, what we said is that while we thought the buildin’ was cool, we think it would fur sure be annoyin’ ifin you’re tryin’ to sleep. MOL Big hugs

    1. Not sure where the comment went, I will check SPAM. I agree about trying to sleep, no place I want to live 🙂 XO

  10. Sammy is gorgeous! And what a cute pose.
The Halloween village is hilarious with those pigs and their arms sticking out like that! haha And then there’s another critter with outstretched arms but isn’t a pig. Not sure what it is but it’s funny. Love it!

Thank you so much for featuring that building in Germany! I can’t wait to read up on it. Fascinating! So when it rains the neighborhood is just treated to wonderful music? Wow! ingenious!

    Have a great week Ellen…

    1. Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the photos and the building in Germany. I hope you have a great weekend!

  11. This is the first that I’ve heard of the German musican rain building Today, it would have put on quite the concert as the remnants of a hurricane dumped rain on us (at least we avoided the wind that coastal areas of the Northeast suffered through.) I think you just won the Unusual Instrument prize with this one.
