Meals with Kitties

Happy Thursday everyone, this week is flying by like every other week. Today is behavior day and as I always say, I am never out of topics to write about with 15 cats. Mealtime at our house can be a challenge, not kitty meals, our meals. Well, their meals are too as we need to police them from stealing from one another.

I love to have waffles with butter for breakfast and many of the cats know I have butter and love to have a taste. I call Spooky, butter boy because he is always the first one waiting. This was breakfast yesterday morning as I was sitting on the couch:003Spooky and Joanie were at my right, 005Lucy was at my left and Stinky was on the floor004. And this was supper: 005Prancie helps David and grabs his hand with her little paw.

I guess we could eat in the diningroom ( the one no cat area because of plants in there), but that wouldn’t be much fun now would it?

Have a great day everyone! And thanks for reading this blog.

  1. Sam is my “butter boy”…….he hears me take the cover off the glass butter dish and comes running no matter where he is in the house……loves just a tiny taste. As for meal time – Sam is satisfied just getting a sniff of what’s for dinner for the humans – he eats very little people food…..butter, bacon, the occasional tiny bite of chicken and sometimes sandwich “fixings”. Since he’s “one spoiled cat” I have to help him live up to his name!

  2. Since we’ve become vegans, the cats don’t eat anything that we eat, although we offer it to them anyhow. The look on a cat’s face while sniffing a garbanzo bean sandwich is just too funny! We try to keep them interested in what’s going on, just because it’s polite. When I am gifted a frozen turkey each Thanksgiving from the office, we cook it up, then grind the meat into cat-sized morsels and freeze portions. The ‘o’ cats seem to enjoy the turkey much more than Angel and Chuck, but every cat gets a sample…and it helps with the cat food bill for a month!

    1. That is a great idea to use the turkey for the kitties. I admire that you are vegans, I tried to be a vegetarian and only lasted 10 months. I do need to try again and keep trying.

  3. Oh we have a few butter enthusiasts over here too! Esme, especially loves, loves, loves butter! It’s amazing you get anything in your mouth with all those”helpers!” 🙂

  4. Oh geez – meal time is a big problem in our house too. We have to put the cats up in the office or some other room before we eat, particularly the boys. Otherwise they jump up on the table and steal our food! Sampson is the worst. MOL!

  5. My human does not like to share her dinner with me!

Well, mostly I try to put my head and paws in it without being asked or given permission. Maybe that’s the part she doesn’t like.

    1. Maybe if you meow politely, she will give you some of her dinner. You are so cute, I wouldn’t be able to deny you.

  6. Whenever I eat, Sushi would come rushing to me and look at me with those cute eyes. She would always want to taste whatever I’m eating. If she likes it, she’ll stay and stare like saying “more Mom”. If she doesn’t like it, she’ll leave.

  7. Da only place in ow house dat be a no kitty zone is mommys closet. Hers sez she knows shez gunna hav cat fur on hers afur she leaves da house, but wuld like to at least put on an outfit afur bein’ covewed in fur. MOL Now what’s da purrawlem wiff yous meals? MOL Looks like life as usual to us. MOL

    Luv ya’

    1. I actually enjoy my kitties bugging me most of the time. I don’t allow kitties in the closet either, but every time I open the door, one sneaks in.

  8. I rarely eat people food and if I am offered it will usually turn my nose up at it. Eric was the opposite. He was always trying to hook something of dad’s plate.

    1. Wow Flynn, you don’t know what you are missing. I am sure you are healthier though than if you indulged in people food.

  9. Awwww – this is another beautiful post!!
