It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

Joanie and Emmy are posing with the books I am currently reading. Emmy has a recheck this morning. She seems to be feeling better ( knock on wood, 3 times), but I am eager to find out her kidney values and to know if she has a lot of fluid buildup around her heart.

I am reading 3 memoirs- sometimes it gets a bit confusing.

Dirtbag, Massachusetts by Isaac Fitzgerald got my attention because I live in Massachusetts, so it is fun to know the places he is writing about.

The Shadow Man: A Daughter’s Search for Her Father by Mary Gordon is about a woman’s search to learn about her father who died when she was 7 years old. She remembers him as a loving dad, but she uncovers some disturbing things.

And I just started Why Didn’t You Tell Me by Carmen Rita Wong. This memoir is about a woman who doesn’t find out something until she is an adult. I just started reading it, so I don’t know much else.

And here is a little more awww…for your Monday.

Rudy loves the catnip candy cane.

Penny has worked 2 Tuesdays in a row so Rosie will be here tomorrow.

Charlee: “Our Dada is reading some book by somebody named Brandon Sanderson. It’s called ‘Words of Radiance’ and it’s 1,000 pages long. So you can just assume that for the next several Mondays, that’s what he’s still going to be reading …”

  8. TBT: Not yet reading, but I have Neil deGrasse Tyson’s ‘Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives On Civilization’, a book of New Yorker magazine cat cartoons, and I am always a month or so behind on magazines (Wood, Archaeology, Consumer Reports, Cook’s Illustrated, Mother Earth, Cook’s Country, and Scientific American).

I was once a month behind on The Washington Post newspaper, but I slowly caught up. One convenient thing about that is that I don’t have to read the sports or news sections. One benefit of that is that the editorial/columnist pages are actually both informative and hilarious. It is worth seeing which columnists are usually correct about immediate future events and which are not (I tend to discount the latter now). And I always read the comic strips.

  9. Purrs to sweetest Emmy from all of us. Howdy Rudy! Yes, reading 3 books at the same time would be confusing for us.

  10. I am still just reading blogs and not doing well keeping up with that. We had a busy Monday from very early until dinner last night. They finally came and took our yard debris that has been stacked outside since Hurricane Ian, the debris was taller than me. I am so glad it is gone. Rudy is a big Awww with the candy cane♥ I have already read the good news about Emmy’s heart having very little fluid.
