It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

I am reading What’s So Funny? A Cartoonists Memoir by David Sipress. This i9s a humorous memoir about how David Sipress finally got to live his dream of being a cartoonist for The New Yorker.  I don’t read The New Yorker, but I love memoir and learning how people achieve their dreams.

I also recently read What’s So Funny? My Hilarious Life by Tim Conway. When I typed in What’s So Funny on Goodreads that came up instead of the one I was looking for so I figured I would get that one from the library too. I had never seen The Carol Burnett Show, but I had heard of him His book was worth reading too, but I preferred David Sipress’ book.

Looks like Rosie is on duty for tomorrow. She has more gossip.

  1. Those books sound great! I always enjoyed Carol Burnett and Tim Conway. I’m sure it’s much more work and not as much fun as it appears to be, but I always thought having a career as a comedian would be marvelous. Cute picture! XO

  2. You never watched The Carol Burnett Show? ~faints~ I bought a collection of her shows and we should sit down together with them. lol Hugs to you and yours, my dear.

  4. Whenever I recall the “Gone With The Wind” skit from The Carol Burnett Show, I bust a gut laughing…too darn funny.
Am working my way through the Simon Serailler series by Susan Hill; a Brit DCI.
The series started in 2009, so it’s interesting to see how police technology has changed in just a short time.

  5. Yesterday I finished a wonderful book, “Venice Sketchbook’. Taken in Venice during WWII
there was a cat in it too.

  6. I also enjoy memoirs, but just finished a Christmas novel that I need to review. I only watched the Carol Burnett show sporadically, but Tim Conway was always funny. 7. I used to love the Carol Burnett show, and Tim Conway was the funniest. Though I don’t read memoirs, his might be the exception. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  10. I used to be a bookworm for most of my life until I hit 60 and beyond. Now I think I must have ADD because I can’t seem to concentrate. The most I can do is a cartoon here or there — or a blog, of course. Strangely enough, I have entered The New Yorker cartoon caption contest several times, but I do it just for fun, not fame.

Looking forward to seeing Rosie with more dish.

    1. I bet you came up with some great captions- you are great at coming up with ones on Dani’s blog. 🙂
