It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

Emmy is posing with the two books I am currently reading. Both are worthy of telling you about.

Michael J Fox’s No Time Like The Future : An Optimist Considers Mortality is an uplifting read.  As you all know he has suffered with Parkinson’s Disease for years. A few years ago he also had a tumor on his spine that required a delicate surgery that the surgeons were not even sure would work. Reading about all his struggles make me sure appreciate my health and admire his positive attitude as well as his loving and supportive family.

I am also reading Think Like a Monk: Train Your Mind for Peace and Purpose Every Day by Jay Shetty.  He is a former monk who gives readers lessons in thinking like a monk while living in the modern world. If you are looking for a way to feel more at peace then I highly recommend this book.

Emmy hopes she is awww…worthy.

Penny will be here tomorrow with some Valentine’s Day crafts and a giveaway.

  1. WOW what a great picture and pose.
We are reading a book called One Small Voice. It’s a very good book. It’s about a girl who survived a botch abortion and her friend sets her up on a blind date with a OBGYN and she goes reluctantly. The she dates is kidnapped by 3 thugs and I must say the book s very good. It’s not what you think.

  2. Emmy is certainly awww worthy. I hope you are enjoying your reading! Have a great week!

  3. Emmy, thanks for showing us those books your Mom is reading right now. They sound quite interesting and helpful for anyone to read.

Sometimes hubby feels like Michael Fox, one thing after another, like a big snowball…God gives him and me the strength to keep on keeping on and to use these crisis as learning things…When I was sick, I learned patience and the need to not be so independent, to let others do for me…and I learned what its like to ‘be in a bed and not have control’…which now helps me relate much better to those I care for at my work. (And here at home with hubby, who is doing pretty good, actually.)

    1. I think you would both like this book. Being sick does make us realize how we take good health for granted. XO

  4. Oh my sister is listening to the Michael Fox book at the moment, she has a motor neurone condition so wanted to read his book.

  5. They both sound like really good books. Michael J. Fox has been through quite a lot but he remains very optimistic. Quite inspiring!

  6. You’re so cute Emmy. The books sound good Ellen. I’ve always been a fan of Michael J. Fox. I think I’d enjoy his book.

  7. Penny, you are very AWWW worthy!
I saw Michael J. Fox with the other members of the “Back To The Future” movie franchise; they answered questions from the audience. Michael is so positive and upbeat, and he really out-shown his fellow thespians.
Christopher Lloyd was a doddering old man, in comparison!

  8. Michael J. Fox is such a great example of courage and perseverance. I loved watching him on Family Ties – it was one of my favorite tv shows when I was growing up. I hadn’t heard about this book, but it does seem like an inspiring reading. Thanks for sharing Ellen!

  9. We are binge reading all sorts of mystery novels…James Patterson, Michael Connelly…etc! Have a great week!

  10. Sounds like two great reads.

Emmy is a wonderful poser too.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥

  11. We have not read those 2 books. Mom says she is adding them to her list. Right now she has been sucked into a Lana Harvey’s, Reapers Inc. Books, it is a 7 book series and she can’t put it down. We are sure looking forward to your post tomorrow! You guys are AWESOME!

  12. Thank you, Emmy.
I just finished Jane Smiley’s Perestroika in Paris.
It’s about a race horse. Wonderful magical story.

  13. I just started book 1, called Traded, of 3 book series on my Kindle. I’m thinking it is gonna be a good series.
Ironically about a quarterback who just won the superbowl. Hugs Cecilia

  14. Emmy, you are such a purrfect model! And you always share such inspiring reads. Thank you for that!
