It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

Prancie is posing with my Mother’s Day gift.

I have been reading Dani Shapiro’s memoirs. She has written 5 memoirs highlighting different aspects of her life. She has also written several novels. I started with Devotion:A Memoir and was immediately pulled into her life. After that I read her latest memoir , Inheritance: A Memoir of Genealogy, Paternity and Love. She writes about accidentally discovering a family secret.

I have also read Slow Motion, a memoir of her life as a young adult and how a tragic accident affected her. And I just finished Hourglass: Time, Memory, Marriage. I only have one memoir left to read. She teaches memoir workshops so someday I hope to attend one.

  1. It is good to find an author you like and find that you enjoy all of their books.
That looks like a good book you had for Mother’s Day, and of course you need all those cats.

  2. I have just finished “Hollow City” by Ransom Riggs – the 2nd book in the “Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children” series. And now I will take a break before going on to the 3rd. I am trying to decide which of the more than 50 books waiting on my “to be read” shelves (both in Hebrew and in English) will be next. Problems, problems….

    1. I have heard about that series and it sounds good. I have 800 on my to be read list on Goodreads.

  3. If I do anything interesting, I’ll write a memoir. Right now I am reading two books; “Spearhead” by Adam Makos that I have on audiobook and listen in the car. I also am reading an ebook called “A Wolf Called Romeo” by Nick Jans.

    1. I think everyone has a memoir in them because everyone is unique.

  4. I’m reading, devouring really- would be a better word, a series of books by a new-to-me author. I’m spending all my pennies buying books, and I prefer paper ones, not ebooks. XX

  5. Ellen,

It looks like Prancie knew exactly what to get her mom for Mother’s Day! 🙂 I hope you had a lovely day celebrating with your furbabies!

  6. Sounds like you are really immersed in one author’s books. I am glad you are enjoying them. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  7. Awww, Prancie is a good poser.

I’m reading The Rule of Law by John Lescroart.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  8. Dad has a few of these authors he has really enjoyed and we need to do a post about them soon. Thanks for this and we will take a look with samples and see if they interest us

  9. Prancie knows you very well… a very thoughtful gift, and funny!
I think the books you are reading sound very good. I am not reading anything now but I did read Emmy’s book! Very cute, Ellen! I put it with Prancie’s book in the desk.

    1. Thank you for buying Emmy’s book. I am glad you enjoyed it. XO

  10. That is a most purrfect Mother’s Day gift. And it’s accompanied by a purrfect model!

I actually hadn’t heard of Dani Shapiro until now. She certainly sounds very inspirational. I think it’s great that she also does workshops.

  11. Terrific Mother’s Day gift! I just finished listening to the audiobook, “Something In The Water” and really enjoyed it! I love when authors pull the wool over my eyes!

  12. What a great gift, yes, you most certainly do need all of those cats. In fact, I cannot imagine you without them.

If anyone could write a memoir, you could. It would have great cat rescue stories.

    1. I highly recommend it. I hope you have a great reading week too.
