It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

As most of you know Lent began last Wednesday. I decided to read Whispers of Rest: 40 Days of God’s Love to Revitalize Your Soul by Bonnie Gray. There are 7-8 pages to read each day that include a scripture, a prayer, questions to think about and ideas to expand on each day. Some ideas include journaling and taking photos.

I am joining another hop that just started at CactusCatz called Sabi Saturday. I am late this week, but I was so excited that I figured better late than never. In the hop, we will show something we have found and rescued or repurposed, etc. You can read about it in full by clicking here.

I think most will put items they have rescued and I will eventually, but today I am showing you Emmy. I found her outside and kept her. Actually, I could show you a photo of almost every one of my cats because that is how most joined our family. I hope some of you will want to join in the new hop.

Penny is getting bumped tomorrow so I can tell you about Millie’s Basepaws results that finally came in.

  1. Awww, Emmy is lovely. I bet she is happy to have found a happy home you. Not what I expected for Sabi Saturday but I think it’s a great post. So many older cats don’t get rescued because people want young cats. Older cats should be treasured too.

Joanie is a reader just like my Pinkie loves to read (well put her paws on books). Looks like Joanie really likes Gray’s book.

    1. Thank you. This Saturday I will post one of the things I got for free. 🙂

  2. How do you like the book? It sounds inspiring. I love how your cats came into your life. That’s how we got Buddy too. The other day Buddy was sitting at the back door, looking out the glass, and over his head I saw another cat. It was a head taller than Buddy, so it might have been a bobcat, but if it is a stray, I have a feeling it will be a part of our family one of these days. It is like Buddy was when he first showed up and I have just gotten a glimpse of it a couple of times.

    1. I am enjoying the book. I am glad you saved Buddy and I hope Buddy gets a friend soon 🙂

  3. Ellen,

Sounds like a good book to read. Emmy doesn’t look like a happy camper in this picture. Maybe she needs a little cat nap. 🙂

  4. Emmy, we are so glad that Ellen found you. That is how all the cats arrived here. I just found them in my yard or down the road at the feral meeting place. That looks like a great book. You all have a fantastic day.

  5. That sounds like a great book to read regardless of the season. Emmy looks like a great find and I’m sure you repurposed her to fit right in with the others in your home. Very fortunate kitty. Hope your week is purrrfect.

  6. Oh man, Penny not going to be happy! I think that sounds like a very good book. I journal but I have sort of let it fall by the wayside lately. That’s ok, journaling works for me when I need it and tends to fade away when I don’t. I am so happy you found Emmy and she got a forever home ♥

    1. Penny is going to be mad 🙂 We are blessed to have Emmy. I find journaling helps me when stressed too. XO

  7. Finding you outside and keeping you is far better than letting you stay outside. Your mom is smart that way.

    Love your reading for Lent.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. My best to your mom. ♥

    1. My church gives those out too, this is similar just a little more to it.

  8. That sounds like a fun hop. That was a lucky day for Emmy.

Our human sister told Mom about a book she just finished and love – The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell. She is going to bring it over for Mom to read too.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  9. You are finding such wonderful Lenten reads. I’m making a note of this one, so that I won’t forget about it. And I love the sound of this new hop! I also love that Emmy and so many of your other kitties were rescued and found such a wonderful home as yours.

  10. Emmy is a cutie! Have you seen the meme of the cat at a door asking if it is one of those forever homes that it had heard about? It is so sweet and reminds me of you.

  11. I used to read daily inspirational books, I need to get back to that. I only I need ones that are only like a page or two. LOL
What a fun new hop! You can definitely keep busy just sharing your kitties. ♥
