It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

I have been reading a lot lately. Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life by Gisele Bündchen was surprisingly good. I am not even sure why I chose to read it. I tend to dislike gorgeous supermodels ( jealousy).  She is a very kind woman and wonderful mother. Being that she is only 38 years old, I am surprised at how wise she is already.

Live Long and…What I Learned Along the Way by William Shatner with David Fisher is also a good read. My hubby is the real Trekkie around here, but he doesn’t care for memoirs so I thought I would give it a try. I have read some of his other books too and always enjoyed them. He shares a lot of what he has learned in life with stories of how he learned it.

One Heart at a Time by Delilah was also really interesting.  If you have ever listened to the radio at night, you must have heard her radio show. I don’t usually listen to the radio at night, but over the years, I have heard her show. I had no idea she had so many children, most adopted. I also had no idea she had lost one to sickle cell anemia and one to suicide. She also has an incredible foundation that helps people in Africa. When I read about someone so dedicated, it makes me feel like I have wasted my life, but it also motivates me to want to do something-just not sure what yet.

I apologize for all the bold print above, I couldn’t get it to go away.  Joanie hopes she is awww…worthy  posing with some of the books.

  1. Joanie is always awww worthy. I am ashamed to say that I have not been reading much. I miss reading but I just can’t concentrate. I enjoyed your reviews, especially One Heart at a Time.

  2. William Shatner sure is an active and productive guy. He recently released two (music) albums too!

  3. I was quite a Trekkie in my younger days. However, I don’t read memoirs and Shatner’s life will remain a mystery to me. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  4. Joanie is more than aw worthy. All your kitties are precious.

I’m reading Blood Feud by Robert B. Parker.

Sunny Randall is “on” again with Richie, the ex-husband she never stopped loving and never seemed to be able to let go, despite her discomfort with his Mafia connections. When Richie is shot and nearly killed, Sunny is dragged into the thick of his family’s business as she searches for answers and tries to stave off a mob war. But as the bullets start flying in Boston’s mean streets, Sunny finds herself targeted by the deranged mastermind of the plot against the Burke family, whose motive may be far more personal than she could have anticipated…

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday and week. My best to your peeps. ♥

    1. Did you list them on Goodreads? That is how I keep track of ones I am reading and want to read.

  5. Awwww, I bet that kitty is wonderful to cuddle up with while reading. I just finished John Grisham’s new book, The Reckoning. I have Michael Connelly’s book, Two Kinds of Truth waiting in the wings. I’ll check these out and maybe add them to the queue!

  6. Joanie…I adore you! I told your momma that. I have to say I am the Trekkie of all Trekkies! I binge on all things Trek on NetFLix.

  7. Our Dad would probably enjoy the David Shatner book, he too is a bit of a Trekkie. Mom loves to read, but right now she seems to be too absorbed in jigsaw puzzles:)

  8. I listened to one of Shatner’s books on audio. He narrated it and I loved it. It was especially nice since he narrated it himself. I’ll have to look for this one.

  9. Oh, these sound like fantastic reads! I am a huge fan of William Shatner, so I really need to read what he’s written. And I used to hear Delilah’s show quite often, before I turned more to streaming services rather than the radio. I still listen to her shows on occasion, and I’ve always admired how she never gives up, despite the tragedies she has been through. Thank you for always sharing your wonderful reviews with us!

  10. You needn’t feel you haven’t accomplished anything. You have helped and taken care of many kitties who needed your help. That is not insignificant !

  11. Thanks for the reviews, I’ll check them out. Too busy lately to sit down and read, but when I’m driving or doing mindless housework I’m listening to audio books – can’t go without a book! Right now I’m ‘reading’ The bones of Paris by Laurie R. King.

  12. This time of year we can’t help but want to read more. Right now I’m finishing up Eckhart Tolle’s book ‘The Power of Now’.

  13. Joanie looks like she wants to read 😉
Mum is reading Kingdom of the Blind by Louise Penny
She has read all of her bood and really likes this author!
She also has a bunch of “cozy mysteries”
Mum reads, we cats snuggle 😉

  14. Joanie is always Awww worthy. So cute how she is looking right at the book. Ellen, how do you find the time to read so much or are you just a fast reader? I love to read but can barely find the time to read the books for Cat Scouts Book Club. And I am a painfully slow reader due to some minor dyslexia and OCD. Anyhoo…thanks for the recommendations. Hugs, Janet

    1. Thank you. Joanie is a cutie. I am a fast reader, I read a few books at once. Every day I read a few chapters of each so I go through a lot. XO

  15. Awww Joanie…You look like YOU should have been the picture on Comedy Plus today!
Ninja and I are doing much better. The Feliway is doing its stuff!

  16. Nice job posing with the books, Joanie! Good for you reading so many books, and not just novels like I usually read when I do. I guess I tend to want to escape reality when I sit down to read (which isn’t usually that much).
