Hi everyone! We are joining Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading and Comedy Plus’ Awww… Mondays.

Joanie has a review prepared for today.

Taming Your Gremlin by Rick Carson. Book tell me how to tame a gremlin, but not where I can get a pet one. Mumma just laughs and says if I get one not to feed it after midnight.

Me and Sammy had birfday on Saturday. We iz 12.

We had a pate cake And got a bag of Temptations 

Nothing from Grammie though.

Thank you Joanie. I have two good books to recommend by the same author, Marianne Leone. She is an actress that played Christopher’s mother on The Sopranos. Her latest book is about the strained relationship she had with her mother , Ma Speaks Up: And A First- Generation Daughter Talks Back. In this book, she referred to her son that she found dead in his bed at the age of 17. She had written a book about him , Knowing Jesse: A Mother’s Story of Grief, Grace and Everyday Bliss.

Jesse suffered from severe cerebral palsy. Her book about him tells of all the struggles to get him a proper education. He was highly intelligent, but many couldn’t look past his disabilities to see that. The book includes many beautiful poems he had written.

I was reading this as I was watching Phoebe decline at a rapid pace. I was angry that God wasn’t going to give me more time with her, but reading this made me appreciate the 14 wonderful years I did have with her.

Tomorrow we have our Chewy review from September. Later in the week, one of the kitties will attempt to write. Phoebe chose Prancie as the new ruler, but I don’t know if she wants to write. We know that no kitty can replace Phoebe.

    Those books sound excellent. When I get time, I will look them up. At present, I’m reading The Fifth Agreement: A Practical Guide to Self-Mastery by Ruiz…. it’s a good followup to The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom …. perhaps one day this excellent advice will sink in.

  4. Happy birthday, Joanie and Sammy! And we think you did a fantastic job reviewing that book, Joanie. We wish we knew where to find a gremlin to tame. Of course, your mom’s right, and we would never feed ours after midnight either.

    We are still sending our most heartfelt purrs and prayers your way. You’re right in that Phoebe will never be replaced, but we have no doubt that she is so proud of you all and that she will continue to guide you in every aspect of life, including your wonderful blog.

  5. Awww on all your four legged babies. They are most precious. I hear you about being thankful for your 14 years with Phoebe. I’m thankful for my almost 13 years with our beloved Little Bit.

    I just finished reading, Charlatans by Robin Cook. I really enjoyed this book. Just starting, Shattered by Allison Brennen.

  10. Happy Birthday! That looks like a yummy cake. OK, so Mommy finally finished The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. Now she’s reading her first book, but she can’t remember the name of it right now. It creeps her out so she stopped reading it for a bit. (She’s still addicted to Youtube videos!)

  14. Losing a child at seventeen must be devastating. It certainly puts my minor woes into perspective. I was lucky to have had my sweet cat Luna for so many years and see our two remaining kitties looking good despite advancing age. ~hugs~ Be well. Thanks for being a beacon of light in this dark world.
