Hi everyone! Today we are joining Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? And Comedy Plus’ Aww….Mondays blog hops. First though, I want to share some exciting news. 15andmeowing was listed on Feedspot’s top 100 cat blog’s list. I do want to add that there are many blogs I feel should have been on that list instead of mine, but I am thrilled to be recognized after 2 and a half years of blogging. top-100-badge

Now for the books I have been reading, oddly, none are about cats, but I will be starting one this week. I am reading Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One by Joe Dispenza , it is fascinating. Part of it explains why it is possible to use our thoughts to change our lives and the rest of it explains how to use meditation as a way to do this.I will admit that I am not good at meditating, my mind wants to jump all over, but I am going to give it a try. His advice makes sense, for example, if you want to be healthy, you need to stop doing the things that have made you unhealthy. You would need to meditate about doing healthy activities and eating healthy foods. This can be done for anything. I realize, you need to do more than meditate to accomplish goals, but it sounds like a good way to motivate- I will let you know if any changes I try to make actually stick.

I am also reading Amy Schumer’s book, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo. I have never seen her show and I turned off the dvd to Trainwreck after 5 minutes, but I decided to give this a chance.  I am enjoying it and finding her to be a kind person despite the foul language. 100_9873 Here is our Aww…photo- Phoebe missed out on Burger King, but she got to have her cake and eat it too 🙂 Actually, she only sniffed it. badge

  2. Concatulations on making it to the top 100 cat blogs list! My human is pretty foul-mouthed herself, so she likes Amy Schumer – she actually didn’t notice anything wrong with her language, MOL!

  3. I just finished “Eligible” … a retelling of Pride and Prejudice in the current time. It seemed more a carefree beach read than a serious thought provoker though. Then again, I am always disappointed when people try to retell or add to the original. Now I’m onto Danielle Steel’s ”The Apartment.” I usually think her writing is too simplistic … but I always try to give authors another chance just like I always try to find the good in everyone 😉

  4. Congratulations on getting on one of the top 100 blog lists!!! I was happy not only to see YOU there, but some of our other blog buddies who hadn’t made it on some of the other “Top 100’s” but WERE listed on this one! I haven’t had time to read lately I’m afraid…..I do miss reading though – if life ever settles down I’ll get back to it……I should MAKE time for it I know.

  7. A huge concatulations on your much-deserved and well-earned accomplishement, Ellen and kitties! That is beyond exciting! Phoebe, your cake looks delicious, and I bet it smelled pretty good, too. And I think these books sound very intriguing. Although I don’t do it often, or hardly ever, I certainly see the benefits of meditation. I think that’s why yoga and such is so popular, because it can be so meditative and calming. I’ve never watched any of Amy Schumer’s shows, as she always seemed a bit excessively crass to me. But I sure am glad to hear that you’re enjoying her book and that she seems like a kind person, so maybe I should give her another chance.

  13. Hey, that’s a great award…Congratulations! I’m reading a Patterson/Sullivan book ‘Private: Paris’, a newer book in the Private line. Great action to listen to as an audiobook while commuting!

  16. I’m reading “Pennies for Hitler” so interesting as it is from the point of view of a young boy who thought he was German but very quickly on in the book learns that a distant relative is Jewish so he is deemed Jewish.
