Happy Cinco De Mayo !

Hi everyone!! Happy Cinco De Mayo! And Grammie, thanks for not getting mad about my poem. I love you very much!

I apologize to all my fans, but I wasn’t very cooperative so Mom only got a 7 second video and I wouldn’t dance with my outfit on.

Now it is time for The Friendly Fill-Ins Week 52. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link at McGuffy’s Reader . You can also answer in the comment section.

  1. Seven seconds of fun!! MOL!

Phoebe you look meowvelous in your Cinco De Mayo gear!

    1. I also still have my landline, I need it to make calls to Canadam since the cell phone has outrageous charges if I use it to call there…sigh…
2.My most treasured piece of jewelry is a diamond ring that my father designed and gave to my mother…which I inherited.

    3. This year, I have learned that there never will be much new under the sun, its mostly variations on old things…as in what goes around comes around. And yet, I should be filled with wonder that even in times of turmoil the world is still pretty stable. .

    4. I would like to paint my bathroom before this year is over, because its needed a new coat of paint for a long time. We just ignore it, MOL!.

    1. Phoebe thanks you. Cell phones are expensive out of the country. That ring sounds very special. Same here, our bathroom needs painting and the kitchen especially- it hasn’t been updated since my hubby moved here in 1980. Have a great weekend! XO

  2. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Those 7 seconds just made our day, Phoebe. And, of course, I really enjoyed your fill-ins. I love that you have such a special piece of jewelry for your Angel KaChoo. This Sunday, May 7th, will mark 2 years since my Angel Rosie made her way to the Bridge. I’ve decided that I’ll be getting a piece of jewelry to wear in her honor. Mudpie and her mom Melissa recently shared a post on memorial bracelets, and I’m thinking that’s the kind I’ll be getting. Oh, I’m also working on better catifying my house. Thank you for hosting these fill-ins! I always have such fun with them!

    1. Short and sweet, that is Phoebe 🙂 I am glad you are going to get a bracelet to remember your Angel Rosie. We have lucky kitties with this catifying.

  3. When it comes to getting a video of a cat, it is what it is.

Life is simpler if we just take what comes and make the best of it.

  4. It would probably be easier not to have expectations, but it is very hard not to have them. You grow up thinking things should be a certain way and then it just doesn’t happen. It is a disappointment.

I hope that you’ll be able to update the rooms that you want to. There are some places in this house that a wrecking ball would do a great job of redecorating. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. It is hard not to have expectations, but it truly does make everything better. Our kitchen hasn’t been updated since my hubby moved here in 1980 -maybe I need that wrecking ball too. Have a blessed weekend too!

  5. Happy Cinco De Mayo to you too. That’s a pretty good try at pole dancing. Can’t ewait to see it again when perhaps you will perform longer.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I am very good at it, but get nervous for the camera.

  6. Ellen,

The one thing about having a landline is you don’t have to worry about batteries (assuming it’s not a cordless phone) dying or losing service. We have VoIP for our home phone but use our cells primarily. We’ll probably die from brain tumors or it’ll be easier for aliens to hone in on our whereabout for abduction. 🙂 Wear that necklace of yours. What’s the purpose of having it if you can’t enjoy it? I had to learn this a long time ago. I used to put things away because said item was too pretty to use but if I can’t use it then there’s no point in having it, right? I need my dreams (expectations) even if they aren’t realized because I know I can hold on to them a little longer with the hope that I can reach them or I get swallowed up by darkness and depression which isn’t fun. Just call me a Daydream Believer! 😉 Thanks for hosting the FF fun!

    1. Thank you. We have some portable phones and a corded in case the power goes out. I should wear my necklace.. I think it is good to be a daydream believer 🙂

  7. I think 7 seconds is better than none and your sweet face is darling… you were like, “okay, there you go”… I loved it!
    1. We have a landline but no phone to go with it.
    2. My most treasured piece of jewelry is a small pinkie ring that belonged to my Mom. She wore it all the time and I wear it now, too.
    3. This year I have learned to roll with the punches a bit better… 🙂
    4. I would like to get back to Venice,Florida before this year is over.
    Happy Cinco De Mayo!

    1. Thank you 🙂 And thanks for your answers to the fill-ins. Your ring sounds very special. I hope you get to go to Florida soon. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

  8. A seven second pole dance is better than no dance at all! I love your outfit too – VERY “Cinco” indeed!!!! Mom likes your fill-ins – she agrees with you on #1 for sure…….

    Love, Teddy

  9. I love your pole dance. You did very well. Outfit not needed.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your wonderful mom. ☺

  11. No matter the length, that was a fine video! Wonderful fill-ins! Our Mom and Dad prefer a landline, too, and don’t have a cell phone of any kind. Have a good weekend!

    1. Thank you, good to know others have a landline. Mom and Dad have cheap cells for emergencies. We hope you have a good weekend too!

  12. Great dance, Phoebe – tips would keep you going, I bet !

I have a landline too – have to be able to call the electric company when the power goes out.

    1. Thank you, I got tips even though I didn’t do much- MOL! Good point about the landline.

  13. Hi! Happy Friday & happy Cinco De Mayo from Murli and me! ?
Meeeow you are sooooo cute Phoebe! You’re beautiful ?Hehe we love all 7 seconds ?

Oh the I want to do the fill ins! I love them!

Will come back once I did them tomorrow. Murli and I are off to sleep now, it’s almost midnight MOL!
Have a pawsome evening with the kitties! Sending purrs and love ??

  14. A lady cat must draw the line somewhere, right, Phoebe? Dancing … but no costume 😉 Still, we love your costume … of course, you’re beautiful on your own too 🙂

  15. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Y’all invited to a #Chilipawty tomorrow on Twitter.
    1. My peeps still have a landline.

2.My most treasured piece of jewelry is the locket Buzzy sent me. It’s virtual but I still love it.

    3. This year, I have learned that I’m not as good a blogger as I thought I was. Sad.

    4. I would like to win the lottery before this year is over.

    1. Thank you for your wonderful answers. Good to know I am not the only one with a landline still. The locket does sound special. You are a mpst excellent blogger and I hope you win the lottery too. We will be at the pawty tomorrow. XO

  16. A good coat of paint works wonders and is fairly cheap. I like to paint but it is a chore. Like Suzanne said, it would be easier to take a wrecking ball and start over than to try to fix all this house’s ills. Have a great weekend.

  17. You are so adorable! Seriously. (Mom is, too.)
#3…I learned this as a very young child, and yes, it has made life easier to know this. Some people never learn, and are then prone to disappointment and often take it out on others. Sad. Wise words, there, my friend.
You rock. Thanks for co-hosting this with me. I am honoured. HUGS!

    1. Awww…thank you 🙂 It is sad, but so true. I am honored to host with you too! XO

  18. Good job on learning #3 Ellen. Took me a long time on that one. I grew up in a home that the only way we were shown any love was if we met our parents’ high expectations of us. I carried having ridiculously high expectations for everyone I knew into adulthood, but finally leaned to let that go about 20 years ago. Life is much happier that way. I cannot blame you for not wanting to lose that special necklace. Congratulations on a year of fill-ins. Hope you and Annie plan to keep the hop going.

    1. Thank you. I wish I had made that realization sooner. I hope we do fill-ins for many years- and that you continue many years with selfie Sundays.

  19. We still have a landline, too! Way back when, before I was even born, and when the peeps were livin’ at a different house, My Auntie Snowdrop chewed on the landline cord. First time, she chewed on it just a bit, causin’ some static. Second time, she chewed on it more, causin’ it to cut in and out. Third time, she chewed it right through! The first mobile phone? purrs

    1. I guess your Auntie liked to chew cords. I had a rabbit do that years ago too. 🙂

  20. 1. Yes, we keep our landline. Because smartphones are not 100% reliable.
    2. My mom’s wedding set. Because my mom, you know.
    3. That while life is an endurance race and a minefield, and one never knows upon rising what new crises one will have to deal with, one can still do one’s bit to “pay the rent” for having been given the great gift of life.
    4. So many things! including finding/meeting some honest, compassionate, kind, intelligent people locally. I know. But I still hope and pray.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Good to know others prefer landlines. That is nice that you have your Mom’s wedding set. I hope you do meet some local people that are all those things- very hard to do.

  21. That’s some nice pole dancing. I still have a landline too. I work from home and find it much better for work purposes than a cell phone.
