Friendly Fill-Ins Week 36

Hi everyone. Today is Friendly Fill-Ins Week 36. Be sure to add your link at McGuffy’s Reader.

1. My guiding word for 2017 is _____________________.
2. ________________________ class reunion.
3. Truth be told I am superstitious about                                .

4. Lately, I have been                                  .

My answers:

1.  My guiding word for 2017 is LESS ( eat less, spend less)

2. I would rather have surgery without anesthesia than attend a class reunion. ( If I haven’t seen someone on 30 years, there is a reason).

3. Truth be told I am superstitious about EVERYTHING, except black cats- I am lucky to live with 3.

4. Lately, I have been scattered, I want to make some goals for 2017, but haven’t come up with anything concrete yet. I did finally take the Christmas Tree down though 🙂

Today is also a special day hosted by Christmas the Dachshund called Purrs 4 Jamison Day. Jamison was a sweet cat that was attacked by a dog and struggled to survive, but sadly left for the Bridge on January 9th. His family sure could use some words of comfort.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Jamison. It is so sad that he was attacked and had to leave his earthly family. 🙁

Are you having trouble making goals period or just long-ranging ones? If it is just trouble with long-range goals, try making goals for what you want to get done just for that day or the next two hours, that sort of thing. Sometimes this helps us to gain momentum on the longer-range goals. We feel successful with the little ones and that gives us the push we need for the bigger ones.

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Thank you for the tips. I know I want to lose weight and make money, but I need to find ways to do those things and set mini goals along the way. I hope you have a blessed weekend too.

  2. I agree with everything … but especially the class reunion. Especially in this day and age where if you wonder what happened to x you can probably find them on Facebook or Linked In and find out more than enough without even saying “hi.” 🙂

    1. Good point, I don’t care to know anything about anyone that I haven’t been in touch with though 🙂

  3. So sorry to hear about Jamison. My friend’s Oscar was very badly bruised by dogs a couple of weeks ago, but he is finally eating.

Less is a great word, there are a few things i need to do less of, too.

  4. Great filling in…..that’s how I feel about reunions too! Congratulations on getting that Christmas tree down – now we can start looking forward to putting it back up in 12 months! HAHA I’m so heartbroken about poor Jamison – such a horrific thing to happen and he really fought so hard to come back. Angel Sammy is showing him round the Bridge so he’s in good paws.

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Thank you 🙂 Actually, it is only 11 months before we can do it again.
      That was sad about Jamison.XO

  5. Ellen, eat less is a good one, especially after the holidays. I did more eating than I should’ve. While DH was laid off, we curtailed the spending and it’s our desire to keep that trend up even though he has a job. I’m not superstitious about anything or nothing I can think of. I sometimes tease about certain things like “don’t walk under a ladder” or “oops, broke a mirror 7-years of bad luck”, but I don’t believe any of them. The one superstition that I always thought was crazy is the one about not stepping on cracks. That’s almost impossible to do – cracks are all over the place! 🙂 I tried to not do that once as a kid but it frustrated me so bad that I gave up and decided if something happens then it happens. lol What sad news of Jamison! I’m so sorry to hear this and I know his human family will miss him. I’ll say a special prayer for them. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my friend, and have a good weekend!

    1. Thank you. I agree it is impossible not to step on cracks. 🙂 Have a great weekend too and thanks for participating.

  6. Your answers are always so great! I really like how you completed #1, using a word like “less” in a more positive and motivating way. And I completely understand where you’re coming from with #2. Sometimes the past just really needs to stay the past. And I’m also with you on #4 – I really need to get myself in line! Thank you for hosting this fun challenge each week! And, Jamison’s family has certainly been in our thoughts and prayers, and will continue to be.

    1. Thank you. I agree, the past should stay in the past. That was sad about Jamison.

    1. Thank you, I think you kitties would prefer more- more treats, more cuddles 🙂

  7. Fab fill-ins guys!

We were so sorry to read about Jamison on POTP, we left a message the other day.

    Happy Friday guys! XOX

  8. It’s fun learning more about you with these posts. And the word ‘less’ is a fantastic choice for a guiding word this year. I think it would be good for all of us. “Less waste, less judgment, less criticism, and so on…”)

  9. Great answers!

I’m so sorry to hear about Jamison. On Christmas day, J J (terrier next door) was attached while on a stroll… over 1K of vet bills later, she seems to be recovering. J J was lucky because Mike was with her & big/strong enough to fight off her attacker.

    1. Thank you. I think any dog that attacks like that needs to be euthanized. I hope the owners of the attacker paid the vet bill.

  10. Less is an excellent word for 2017…except that instead of eating and spending less, I’m just acting more BRAIN-less! LOL! Went to one class reunion, and have never gone again; I know who my friends are. I hope to always have a black cat (or two…or more…) in my life!

    1. Yes, we know who are friends are no need to waste time on those that are not. Black cats are wonderful. XO

  11. I always enjoy learning more about you. Here are mine.
    1. My guiding word for 2017 is ACTION.
    2. TW never attended a class reunion.
    3. Truth be told I am superstitious about nothing. TW has all these crazy stupistitions when she watches the Yankees. She can only play with me while they are hitting. If not the other team will rally and many more.
    4. Lately, I have been getting the zoomies a lot and also eating a lot.

    1. Thank you for your answers. Action is a great choice for a guiding word. That is funny that TW will only play with you while they are hitting, but whatever works. Baseball is a superstitious game, lots of players have little things they do before they swing. Zoomies are good, but maybe you need to be tested for hyperactive thyroid. XO

  12. I love the way you answered #2 and I’m right there with you! #1 is a really good idea.

    I’m very sorry about Jamison.

  13. I don’t feel quite as anti-reunion. The 10th was not so enjoyable, but the ones I went to after that were pretty cool.

  14. guys…..we R troo lee sorree ta lurn bout Jamison; we did knot haz de honor of knowin him ~~~~~~♥♥♥ we send purrayerz two hiz familee ~~~~~~~ ♥♥♥

heerz two a lemon tetra kinda week oh end two all ♥♥♥

  15. Love your fill-ins–especially about class reunions (I never understood the point of them) and black cats (they are the coolest cats!). That’s terrible what happened to Jamison.

  16. Love your fil ins
I was contacted a week or so ago and told a 50th class reunion was in the works! Hubby went to a different high school so our attendance is probably iffy. hugs Madi and mom

  17. First, mes has been remiss in NOT commenting much this week…once again Mommy has chosen WORK over me commenting on my furrends blogs. Next ME is going to does the Friday Fill Ins
My guiding word for 2017 is Gift, as each day is a gift.
    2. 20th Cat From Hell class reunion is next year…mew wants to attend.
    3. Truth be told I am superstitious about how a awkward science means a angel is there.
    4. Lately, I have been feeling better.
And thanks yous for being my furrends!!!
    Many Kisses
    Nellie Bellie

    1. Thank you for your answers- the last one made me very, very happy. I am glad you are feeling better. I am going to keep praying for you, I want you to make it to that 20th reunion sweet girl. XO

  18. Here are our fill-ins!
    1. My guiding word for 2017 is Growth.
    2. I am very much looking forward to my 10th high school class reunion! I hope we have one. It should be this year!
    3. Truth be told I am superstitious about nothing.
    4. Lately, I have been lazy. I haven’t been to the gym in a couple weeks, and I had been doing so good!

Sending purrs and prayers to Jamison’s family 🙁

    1. Thank you for your answers. Growth is an excellent choice. I am sure you will get back into the gym. Only 10 years- you are so young, mine is 30 this year.

  19. You did a grate tribute to Jamieson!! Mee an LadyMum are missin him a lot…
Pleeze give mee LUV to mee sweet buttercup gurl…..
    ****paw kissesss**** Siddhartha Henry xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    1. That was so sad about Jamison. Purrincess Phoebe sends her love to you too. XO and paw kisses and nose rubs too.

  20. That is very sad about Jamison. My mother in-law lost a stray that that way. I think he was close to trusting her enough to come inside when it happened.

  21. What a sad thing that happened to Jamison. It really hurts our hearts. Mom likes the less word. She needs to do exactly the same thing, except when it comes to exercise. That needs to be more. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

    1. Yes, I need more exercise too or any exercise would be a start. Our hearts broke for Jamison too. XO

  22. Even though I didn’t officially choose a word last year – I think in looking back I can say it was “less.” We purged so much of our lives. Stuff. Activities. And wow, is it ever easier to breathe! 🙂
I don’t think I would bother with a reunion after so long either. I moved away from my hometown, so that’s why I mostly don’t see my former classmates. But still, I hardly see the point in returning after so many years either.

  23. Just think if we all did with less, how less complicated this world and society at large would be, Hmmm…well it can start one person at a time I guess…My father used to say we live in a press the button society and that was long before being able to but things instantly…

We sent Jamison some purrs of condolence. We didn’t know him, but how horrible for him and his family.

    1. My guiding word for 2017 is ‘breathe’, esp at work, becasue I get so stressed out there sometimes..
2.I have never been to a class reunion. (High school or college)The only one I have ever heard about I wasn’t able to go, and have not seen info about any others. Funny, hubby and I were discussing this topic this week, LOL!
    3. Truth be told I am superstitious about nothing, since everything is in God’s hands who has control of everything that happens…and makes it all work to His purpose. Even though that may be hard to accept at times. .

    4. Lately, I have been staying up far too late to make blog posts and comments on others…hah! Its 3 am or thereabout right now…sigh… its a good thing I work second shift! .

    1. Breathe is a good choice of a guide word. I am religious and trust in God, but I have some OCD so the superstitions come into play. I hope you get some sleep sometime.
