Friendly Fill-Ins Week 34

Hi everyone, time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please add your link at McGuffy’s Reader and you can always answer in the comment section.

The Fill-Ins:
1.The highlight of my Christmas was ___________________________.
2.My New Year’s resolution is __________________________.
3.This year, 2016, ______________.

4 Next year, 2017, ______________.

My answers:

1. The highlight of my Christmas was actually having all my loved ones here on Christmas Eve. My 1 yr. old great-niece was very entertaining and friendly to everyone. She even picked up every scrap of wrapping paper and put it in the trash bag ( you can never start being neat too early).

2.My New Year’s resolution is to cook healthier meals for my hubby and I and to find healthier snacks. I am also contemplating trying to be a vegetarian again, I know hubby won’t do that though.

3. This year, 2016, was sad as 2 of our beloved kitties went to The Bridge and so many of our blogging friends kitties ( and dogs) did too. I am thankful that Brody came into our lives though ( Phoebe is not so thrilled about that).

4.Next year, 2017, I hope to find a way to make money from home to help pay vet expenses. Blogging is fun, but not very profitable, I will keep doing it though.

Hubby was finishing the last of the Christmas ham and he had some help. How many helpers do you see?

  1. Looks like three ham hunters to us. What a great thing to have the entire family together for Christmas. We know that was fun. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid. Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  2. I am happy your family came for Christmas. That is always a blessing.

Cute picture of your fuzzy beggars with Dad. Let me know what your job maybe. I keep trying to find an income, too.

    Hugs! ❤

    1. I think everyone wants to work from home so those job are hard to come by. I will let you know how it goes. XO

  3. Looks like Prancie, Snowball {?}, and Joanie were hunting the great Christmas ham 🙂 I agree about blogging … with all the time I spend on it (more than 40 hours a week), it’d be nice to actually MAKE something from it … but it IS fun and the friends we’ve made are priceless.

    1. Good job, you even got the names correct- I am so impressed. I don’t even get their names right half the time. I love blogging too, but it doesn’t pay like I had hoped it would, but I agree the friendships are priceless.

  4. How sweet that the baby helped with clean up. So cute!

I think I see three helpers on the ham hunt. 🙂

If you have a smart phone, there are things that you can do to help earn money that don’t cost any more money than you’re already spending. We make a little here and there doing that. If you want more info, just let me know.

Have a blessed and Happy New Year!

    1. It was very cute 🙂 Yes, 3 helpers. Thanks for telling me about the apps, but my phone is so simple there isn’t even a camera.:(

  5. I’m going to try to eat a little healthier too. (Notice I said Try to eat a Little Healthier–no point going overboard with it!) Best wishes to you all for a healthy, happy new year!

  6. We always enjoy these fill-ins so much, and your answers are always among our favorite. How wonderful that all of your family was able to celebrate Christmas with you. Your great-nice sounds so cute! I, too, and trying to eat healthier in the New Year, my primary vice being that I’m a candy and sugar hound. This year really was a tough one, just like your #3 says, and we are praying for a blessed 2017 for all. Also, your husband’s meal time looks a lot like mine. So many helpers!

    1. Thank you. I am lucky I don’t eat meat often so they all go after his food instead of mine. I hope we all have a nice 2017.

  7. I envy you, your whole family being there for Christmas. Sorry for your loss of fur babies. They are family too. I know I am grateful for my pups.

    1. Thank you, it was a nice Christmas Eve and Day. Thank you for the condolences on my furbabies too, it was a tough year.

  8. I see three helpers! I enjoy your sense of humor… 🙂 And I enjoyed your Fill-ins! I am going to try to convince CH to eat healthier but I always like the not healthy foods he cooks! He does most of the cooking since he retired in 2007… he likes to cook and he is a good cook and baker.

  9. I think it is great that the young one helped clean up.

Suzanne and I have found that we can use scanning apps at the store to make little bits of money. While we are in a store, we scan using a smart phone. We use Shop Kicks and Checkpoints. We also use Receipt Hog. This isn’t a lot of money but little things add up. Drop Suzanne an email for the links.

    Have a Happy New Year.

    1. Thank you for telling me about these apps, but my phone doesn’t even have a camera, it is a dumb phone. Happy 2017!

  10. When I had kitties many years ago they didn’t care for people food. I was happy about that.

We don’t have snacks here and we eat very healthy. We still need to lose some weight though. Being old really makes that difficult.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

    1. We really need to keep snack food out of the house because we can’t stop ourselves.

  11. Thanks for doing the fill-ins this past year – I hope you and McGuffy keep it up!! Loved the photo of your ham hunters. Simon was thrilled to see Joanie. He and Toby are just like that whenever I eat any type of meat – Toby practically sits in my plate! He’ll even take it off my fork if I don’t watch him! Here’s to a very Happy New Year!!!

    1. We are definitely going to keep doing the fill-ins and I am glad you participate. Prancie is just like Toby and steals food- must be an orange cat thing 🙂 XO Hope you have a happier 2017 too.

  12. I’m always trying to think of new ways to make more money from home too!

The highlight of my Christmas was being in our new home and having it very festively decorated.
My new year’s resolution is to get my act together and come up with a resolution!
This year, 2016, was a roller coaster ride for our pets’ health. I know it was a tough year for many but I can’t complain about it too much since our Sheba is miraculously still with us.
Next year, 2017, will probably be a tough one for the same reasons. But we’ll hope for the best.
    Happy New Year!

    1. It is always hard when our pets are sick. I am glad Sheba is still with you. I hope you have a better 2017 too.

    1. My sweet boy, I will send you a photo of her kissing me. Yes, there were 3 ham helpers. I hope 2017 is better for everyone. XO and paw kisses and nose kisses too.

  14. We’re so glad ya’ll had a great Christmas. With mommys bad eyes we think we see 5 helpers. Big hugs to all.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  15. Good luck finding a way to make money from home, i know you will find something because you are determined!

  16. Um, did somebuddy say HAM??

1.The highlight of my Christmas was my initials in catnip letters.
2.My New Year’s resolution is nonexistent. I don’t make them but I make them for the peeps.
3.This year, 2016, was one of the worst. My Buzzy was one of the cats who went to the RB and we lost so many musicians that my peeps liked.
4 Next year, 2017, will be even worse. My peeps won’t be celebrating the new year.

    1. Thank you for your great answers. Your initials in catnip, I like that idea. I also think it is a great idea to make resolutions for the peeps. 2016 was a bad year, I hope 2017 is better for all. XO

  17. I am glad you had a lovely Christmas with all your family. I see 3 helpers but I imagine there were probably more hopefully hanging around close by.

  18. Faily time is the best! We were altogether here too. Though our group is way tinier at 4.

The Canadian contingent stayed in Canada, though.
Long time ago we would all gather in my parents den…now we stay as nuclear groups…we might sometimes gather together with cousins and aunt in the summer time. Once we had 22, (or more?), in one backyard! That was a record! Some had even come over from Europe…sigh…we wish for those times again…a lot of those present then are in Heaven now.

1.The highlight of my Christmas was seeing residents smile at my head gear which was a Christmas tree, MOL!.
2 .My New Year’s resolution is to try and attend the gym more regularly. Or at least do more workouts at home or the gym.
3.This year, 2016, went by really quickly. And we got through some “disasters” at our den.

4 Next year, 2017,I hope we stay healthy and do not have to say goodbye to any furends.

    1. We both have small families too. Christmas Eve was 11 of us and Day was 4. Sorry that so many in your family have passed.
Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. I am sure you bring much joy to your patients with your positive attitude. I hope you have time to go to the gym this year. I also hope everyone has a happy 2016 with no losses. XO

  19. Ellen, eating healthier is always a good goal to aspire toward. We generally eat pretty well and keep our poor dieting habits to a minimum, but during the holidays this tends to get blown out of the water. Good luck with finding work at home to do. I’dl like to find a job that I can do at home, too. I’m trying to get caught up with visits, so let me scoot. I hope the new year brings nothing but good things your way, my friend. God bless!

    1. Thank you, I hope you have a wonderful new year and accomplish all you want to.
