Friendly Fill-Ins Week 232

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. I never thought I would say this, but ______________________________.
2. I  can’t believe ________________ is _______________________.
3. _________ is how I deal with stress.
4. Now is the perfect time to _________.
My answers:
1. I never thought I would say this, but I was happy to take down my Halloween decorations. I put them up too early and actually was sick of them.
2. I can’t believe The Great One is five years old ( Nov. 1st). Where did the last 5 years go?
3. Snacking is how I deal with stress. And list writing helps me feel like I have some control over a situation.
4. Now is the perfect time to keep wearing those masks and staying in.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Here is Angel Stinky in a pilgrim hat from November 2015.

  1. Chunky Raw Almond Butter from Trader Joe’s. I put a piece of painter’s tape on the lid, meaning this jar belongs to ME!
The Hubby has nicknamed me ‘Spoons’, ’cause I spoon up that sticky stuff whenever I get a break.

    1. That is funny. I just decided I like almond butter when I had a granola bar with that for a filling. XO

  2. I never thought I would say this, but I love Brussels Sprouts…if and only if they are ROASTED!
I can’t believe this pandemic is hanging around for such a long time and it doesnt seem like it will leave us anytime soon…Boooo…Pffffftttttt!
Eating, the wrong things; is how I deal with stress if I am at work, if I am home I use calming music.
Now is the perfect time to do anything that needs doing, don’t put it off, or it still won’t get done…maybe never…

Aww, Angel Stinky made a sweet pilgrim!

    1. Thank you for your answers. It does seem like the pandemic is here to stay. I love Brussels sprouts too- roasted is best. We do them in the air fryer too. XO

  3. Chocolate is my answer to stress! I write lists for everything , mostly so I don’t forget things.

  4. Great answers…..my Mom is trying not to eat her way out of stress although she’s finding it tough. Now when she feels like the house is closing in (!) she goes outside and sits in the sunshine (if it’s sunny) or on the front porch out of the wind (if it’s cold) and lets me run around! Time is flying by for sure. We didn’t have trick or treat around here this year so Mom didn’t really decorate much. I’m sure she will be decorating for Christmas though!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Good answers! I end up feeling the same way about holiday decorations when I put them up too early. They outgrow their appeal after a while! And I’m also a list person for certain things. It makes me feel organized and in control; it’s been especially useful this year with all that’s been going on! xo

  6. Angel Stinky wore that hat well. In the past I was not be able to eat when stressed and now all I want to do is eat. I need to go out and walk instead. I won’t decorate for Christmas until the Friday after Thanksgiving but I am looking forward to it this year. I already have our candles in the windows.
    Here are my Fill-Ins…
    1. I never thought I would say this, but I am excited to decorate for Christmas this year.
    2. I  can’t believe another possible hurricane is projected to head our way.
    3. Music and the Calm app is how I deal with stress.
    4. Now is the perfect time to put our candles in the windows.
    Hugs!

    1. I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving too. Thank you for these great answers. Sorry about all the hurricanes this year though. We haven’t put candles in the windows in years- we should. XO

  7. I think list writing is a great way to cope with stress!
Wow, The Great One is five years old…seriously, time flies!

  8. Ms Ellen, thank you for hosting this blog hop, but purrty please, do NOT wear those masks! I don’t understand why that awful Fauci claims they help when they harm — they do not keep out germs, but do keep in exhaled bacteria, which can make humans ill.
    Purrseidon

    1. Thank you for caring. I haven’t been sick since i started wearing one so I think they help. XO

  9. Happy belated 5th bday to the Great one….WOW indeed where did 5 years go.
    Hugs Cecilia

  10. We love your fill in answers. Especially 3 and 4. So the Great One is 5. Daisy Mae and I want to wish her a Happy Belated Birthday.

  11. Stinky had such a sweet face. And lists are a constructive activity. ~hugs~ I tend to do the same even in this digital age. 🙂 Be well, my dear!

  12. We don’t decorate for any holiday anymore. To much work and we just don’t care anymore. Doesn’t mean we don’t like the holidays, but us old people need to stay off ladders.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins. I always enjoy participating.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  13. I liked your replies but 1. made me giggle lol and totally agree with 4 🙂

Angel looking cute in that photo heheh!

Have a halloweenlesstastic safe weekend 😷😷😷

  14. I never have really decorating for any holiday with oodles of stuff- but Christmas does at least call for our indoor trees! Cheers and Take care of yourself!

  15. Happy 5th Birthday to the Great One. And yes indeed, it is very much the time to keep those masks on, numbers are rising a lot here.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  16. Happy Birthday to The Great One (although I thought that was me.). Our decorations will stay up till Pop decides to put the Christmas ones up. Lazy peeps.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I named her Stinky because she never covered her poop and it was stinky 🙂 XO

  17. I tend to lose my appetite when I’m stressed. However, it never lasts long enough to actually lose any weight – ha ha!!

  18. I sure love seeing the sweet photos! You always have great answers and sometime when I am stressed I am a junkie for junk food. Then I suffer. So I try to chew peppermint gum. Great post and thanks for everything , you are a fun blog friend to know. HUGS across the miles XO XO XO XO XO XO

  19. Fantastic fill-ins! I would probably never truly get tired of my Halloween decorations (some of them actually stay out year round), but I’m finally at the point where I feel okay taking them down because I’m officially feeling ready for Christmas. I remember some of the first posts in which you introduced The Great One, and it’s been so sweet to learn more about her and of course to hear of her adorable playtime with Joanie and the other kitties. I’m with you on the snacking, but I’m also with you when it comes to making lists. I carry around notebooks and planners in which I make all sorts of lists and feel incredibly accomplished when I cross stuff off of them. I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy! Purrs!
