Friendly Fill-Ins Week 214

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link ( see below) to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. I almost _______________________.
2. I finally _____________________
3. I find _________ very interesting.
4. I have my doubts about _________.
My answers:
1. I almost got to meet Fran Drescher in 1999. It is my mom’s fault that I didn’t get to because she had something to do and couldn’t leave early in the morning as I had hoped so we were back too far in the line and she left before our turn. 🙁
2. I finally got my hair cut, pedicure and eye brows waxed! 🙂
3. I find shows on HGTV interesting.
4. I have my doubts about whether we will ever be safe from this virus. I wonder if a vaccine will offer protection or is the virus going to mutate?
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
Here is a flashback of Angel Phoebe from June 2015 when we were having a 4th of July giveaway.
Be sure to comment in yesterday’s post to enter our camping giveaway- you have until 9 PM ( EST) Friday. Winner will be announced Saturday.

  1. I am glad you got your hair etc. sorted. I have to wait nearly another 2 weeks.
I agree with you on #4. With so many people ignoring safety measures I don’t think it will ever go away.

  2. Getting a haircut is a HUGE boost isn’t it……I’ve never had a pedicure or an eyebrow waxing but I imagine it all goes together to make you feel better about everything. It’s just about all we can do to feel “normal” in this extremely ABNORMAL time!!!! Great filling in – as always and thanks for hosting!

    Hugs, Pam

  3. Hi Phoebe, how sweet to see you, please give a paws up to Maggy and Zoey. (PS I think we commented yesterday (?), but shouldn’t be included in the giveaway as no kitties live here right now, thank you!)

  4. That ice cream cone and turkey leg just kills mom! She enjoys mine as much as I do!

  5. A hair cut does wonders for how we feel. Pedicure and waxed eyebrows are the cherry on top of the sundae! I share your thoughts on #4. I should not be included in the giveaway because our house is without a kitty. My Fill-Ins-
    1. I almost had a meltdown in the heat yesterday.
    2. I finally purchased a pair of Vionics sandals and I love them and my feet thank me.
    3. I find the Allie-gator in our pond very interesting.
    4. I have my doubts about seeing baby Moorhens this year.
    Thank you, Ellen!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Heat makes me tense too. I have not heard of those sandals, I will look them up. Eeks on the alligator! I had to look up moorhens, I hope you get to see them. xO

  6. Happy Friday and supurr fill-ins, totally agree with #4 life will never be the same 🙁 and I don’t think we will be safe for a long time yet….

    Anyhoo happy weekend xx

  7. Meowser Ms. ELlen thand you for hosting thie blog hop. I, too, hope everything gets back to ‘normal’ sooner rather than later… Munchkins 24/7 sounds great, but this can become an endurance test. I truly do not understand why that Dr. Fauci and his lackey act like this Wuhan bug is a plague. Back in 2005, he published a paper about how HCQ cures corona (Wuhan bug is a corona virus) https://onenewsnow.com/perspectives/bryan-fischer/2020/04/27/fauci-knew-about-hcq-in-2005-nobody-needed-to-die
I’m thinking Purrsident Trump knew this and assumed that dumb doctor was ideal to lead the way, but instead of telling everyone about HCQ (inexpensive drug) he sent everyone into quarantine… Historically, only the ill get quarantined, so I have grave doubts about that doctor.

  8. Mom got a haircut and got her nails done! She looks so much better to us now!! She also loves HGTV!!

  9. Those were good answers! That evil virus sure doesn’t seem to want to go away. Angel Phoebe sure looks cute!

  10. Aw on Angel Phoebe. Precious memories.

Love all your fill-ins and am glad you got your haircut and your pedicure. Does wonders doesn’t it.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  11. I also liked your replies the lockdown is being relaxed here and too soon for my liking so will be giving it a while longer 🙁

I have not watched that channel there is so many I can’t keep up with thm all heheh!

    Aww! @ Angel Phoebe heheh!

    Have a safetastic weekend 😷😷😷

      1. Glad you got your hair cut! I hope the virus will be under control but don’t think that will happen any time soon. Stay safe xo

  12. Great answers. We really like #1. So sorry you didn’t get to meet Fran Drecher.

  13. Great fill ins Ellen. It is amazing how much a little grooming and pampering can make one feel.
    Hugs Cecilia

  14. We had the same answer for #4. The cases here have gone up and it just feels like it will never end.
I had my haircut a couple of weeks ago. Doesn’t it feel nice to have it done after all these months of waiting? Hope you have a great weekend!

  15. #4 is worrisome. I don’t think it is going away anytime soon plus some people aren’t doing their part to prevent spreading it. A little grooming and pampering can go a long way.

    1. I agree. It is not hard to wear a mask. I have found myself with no colds since I have been using one.

  16. Too bad about Fran Drescher. That’s tough. Unfortunately, I’m with you on the last one. There’s already two strands and all the vaccines they’ve been working on are for the Wuhan strain but around here we have the UK strain. Our hair saloons opened this week but TW read not to go for the first two weeks to see if anyone else gets sick first. HAH!. Thanks for hosting and have a fun weekend.

    1. My hairdresser does it from a room in her home so it was pretty safe. XO

  17. Fran Drescher would’ve been a fun person to meet! Too bad you weren’t able to.

  18. I was growing my hair out before corona, plus I cut it myself anyway so I don’t miss going to the hairdressers.

    I agree with #4
It won’t go away any time soon I think.

    1. I wish I could cut my hair, I can’t even cut a coupon without losing half the code. 🙂 XO

  19. Love your fill-ins. So sad you didn’t get to meet Fran Dresher. That would have been great fun. Have a great weekend.

  20. Oh, sweet Angel Phoebe, I still have your chicken leg. I hid it in my basket😸I think Fran’s a wonderful lady, we loved her tv serie. Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to all of you🐾😽💞

  21. Our mom is getting her hair cute today! It’s about time! MOL

  22. I understand your feelings about how it seems the coronavirus will never end. We must keep the faith. One thing I’ve learned is that things like this always get worse before they get better! Stay strong my friend! You are blessed to have family, friends, and those adorable babies! A lot of us are going through this alone. Sweet Blessings of Love, Deborah

  23. I feel like this virus will become just like the flu, it will mutate as you say, and the vaccine each year may or may not work. But I don’t think it will be to the extreme that it is now. Eventually, a lot of people will be immune from previous exposure. But what do I know?
    I love HGTV too.

  24. Precious picture! I can’t even think about the possibility of #4. I’m so over this.

  25. Fran Drescher is a fascinating person; she’s been through some really awful events, but her fortitude is amazing!
I check the website of my all natural nail salon every day, hoping that they open soon! Mani-pedi, and eyebrows threaded NEEDED! Haircut happened last week, thankyouverymuch!

    1. I love Fran Drescher 🙂 WOW you thread! I tried and it hurt so much more than wax to me.

  26. Ah, to be able to feel “tended to” again in the hair and nails department, that has to be special.

Watching house building shows is fun.

  27. I love the HGTV channel, too…but I hardly ever watch TV anymore…
I will have my ears lowered on July first. Hooray!

I forgot all about this post, oopsie! MOL!

  28. Ellen,

I hope the come up with a vaccine soon but these things take time. I’m sure this virus will be with us for years like the old ones were until every person was immunized. Will this thing mutate? It could but worrying about it doesn’t do any good. Using common sense to dictate our actions is imperative. I’m not a scientist or doctor but I believe the biggest problem with the spread of Covid is people continually touch their faces after touching public surfaces. Folks need to retrain their behavior patterns. It wouldn’t hurt to maintain more distance between you and the next person, too.

HGTV isn’t a channel that we watch. In fact, I don’t know if that’s in our lineup but I do find such shows interesting. I like watching This Old House or similar programs.

The biggest celebrity that I’ve met is Barbara Eden. That was pretty exciting! We went to the Mayberry Days event in Mt. Airy NC in 2016. I’d like to do that again. 🙂

Have a good day. Stay safe and healthy, dear friend!

    1. I agree. I always want to rub my eyes, but I am trying hard not to. Barbara Eden would be fun to meet. XO

  29. #2 – That is great! I bet you feel wonderful

#4 – We don’t know what will happen with this virus. Best to just take it one day at a time.

  30. Fantastic fill-ins! I’m not really one for manicures and pedicures, but a haircut does sound great right about now. I’m trying to grow my hair out enough to give at least 12″ for a wig for a child with cancer, and I think I still have a tiny bit to go. It’s getting unwieldy and untamable, I’ll be honest, and I can’t wait for it to be shorter and manageable again. Angel Phoebe was and is so precious! Purrs!
