Friendly Fill-Ins Week 196

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link ( see below) to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. I am trying to ___________________.

2. I always _______________when ________________________.

3. _________ has my seal of approval.
4. I would not recommend _________.
My answers:
1. I am trying to write another children’s book.
2. I always write lists when I am stressed. I write them when not stressed too, but even more when stressed. It helps me feel like I am in control of the situation.
3. Smart Food has my seal of approval. Best snack food ever 🙂
4. I would not recommend finishing a cookie that a sick child took a bite out of. That is how I caught my latest cold, third one this year.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Next Tuesday is Mardi Gras so here are some photos of past years.

  1. Oh, my,we are not ready for MardiGras…MOL! Might need to use oldies…

    1. I am trying to keep up better with ‘visiting’ blogs and commenting.

    2. I always hate when we have to work short staffed…its not fun at all.
    3. Kitty snuggles have my seal of approval.
    4. I would not recommend too much coffee after suppertime…it makes the sleepytimes harder to come by..now I just have to abide by that advice, MOL!

    1. Thank you for these great fill-in answers. You work a lot so I am sure it i hard to find time to read posts. I can imagine short staffed makes your job harder. I am with you on #3. And I should take your advice on 4, but I love my coffee. Have a nice weekend. XO

  2. Great photos of party animals ready for the Mardi Gras celebration. I’m still trying to decide whether to THANK YOU for introducing me to SMARTFOOD or be upset with you for it – I’m hooked! HAHAHA

    Hugs, Pam

  3. Ellen,

Congrats on writing another book! I hope the best for you. 🙂 Smart foods I approve of, too. I never eat after a sick child or husband. These days whenever I suspect someone might be sick, I’ll do a 180 to avoid being coughed on. You never know when those sickly germs will find their way to you. It pays to be on the defense to staying well! I write lists, mostly for grocery store shopping and things to-do. It keeps me centered. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my dear. Have a good weekend!

    1. Thank you 🙂 I need to be more careful around germy kids 🙂 Hope you have a nice weekend too. XO

  4. Love your Mardi Gras angels!

It’s wonderful to know you are working on another book.

Never eat or drink after children was my rule, and still is. They have germs, and they put their hands all over their food and in their cups, and heaven only knows where else their hands have been, even if you made them wash up.

Hope your cold goes away soon and that you have a fabulous Friday!

  5. Aw, so precious your angels. Sweet memories.

Love all your fill-ins. You’ve had three colds this year? Wow.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. ♥

  6. Meowser Ms. Ellen, I”m concerned about your answers…. May I be so bold as to suggest you and the Great One purrtake of some Ester C and Sambucol Black Elderberry Cold & Flu Relief Tablets?

PS: Thank you for hosting this blog hop.

  7. Good luck with your new book I know you can do!!
Children are petri-dishes with legs. I found that out when I kept the toddler nursery years ago.

  8. Great answers. We still don’t have Smart Food here or TW doesn’t know where to look for it in the supermarket. Cute pics. Happy Mardi Gras! Thanx for hosting.

  9. Fantastic fill-ins, as always! I’ve been hoping that you’ve been working on another children’s book. I can’t wait to know more about it and to read it! I’m still working on a number of stories I’m writing, and I really hope to crack down on them and get them completed. There’s something very comforting about writing stories. And I hope you feel better soon! They say sharing is caring, which sounds wonderful, until a shared cookie gets you sick. I hope the cookie at least tasted delicious! And I love these Mardi Gras memories starring your sweet angels!

  10. 1. I am trying to be more patient.
    2. I always fall over laughing when watching Abbott and Costello comedies!
    3. My sweetheart has my seal of approval.
    4. I would not recommend eating a habanero chili……HOT!

    Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I will take your advice on #4 🙂 Hope you have a nice weekend too. XO

  11. We love the Mardi Gras photos of your Angels. Mom says she slathers on hand sanitizer whenever she visits her GAL kids because kids are walking germ farms.

  12. Chaplin: “Smart Food, eh? Best snack food ever, eh? Hmm …”
Charlee: “Are you planning to steal Dada’s credit card and place an order, Chaplin?”
    Chaplin: “Maaaybe!”

  13. Congrats on starting another book! I am a list writer too….I agree it helps feel like I have control (and helps me not to forget things!). I usually have several lists going at once!
