Friendly Fill-Ins Week 191

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Be sure to add your link so everyone can visit you. Or you can answer in the comment section. Thanks to all who participate.

  1. I could not _________ without _________________.
  2. A simple pleasure I enjoy is _____________.
  3. If I could change one thing about myself, __________________.
  4.  It is hard to find _________________these days.

My answers:

  1. I could not sew without pre-threaded bobbins. They are the best invention. Ever since I took home ec in high school, I had trouble threading a bobbin with the sewing machine. So much easier to buy a package of them.
  2. A simple pleasure I enjoy is napping with kitties.
  3. If I could change one thing about myself, it would be my weight. I’d like to lose a lot of it.
  4. It is hard to find people with manners these days. I get so annoyed when someone can’t bother to say thank you when I hold the door for them.

We are also joining Create with Joy’s Friendship Friday and Comedy Plus’ Feline Friday.

Herr is a flashback of Angels Phoebe and Angel Prancie having a boxing match, Angel Stinky is looking on. They used to do this when hungry to get us to give them a snack.

I am having some computer troubles and can’t copy and past right now so please use the link at my co-host’s blog to add yours.

  1. That is a cute flashback!

I could not endure for long without beautiful(classical) music.
A simple pleasure I enjoy is ‘GoldenMilk’, a mixture of turmeric powder and spices, each night before bed, a good way to relax and its joint friendly too..
If I could change one thing about myself, it would be my impulsiveness…and short temper….
It is hard to find good reliable help in the way of CNA’s for the kind of work I do…many are there for other than love of helping others, or are very disillusioned by the hard work, …and they come and go in short order.these days.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. The golden milk sounds good. I take a turmeric supplement. I can’t imagine you with a short temper. I can see how frustrating it would be to have so many people come and go from your work. It is not good for the patients either. XO

  2. Great fill-ins Ellen…….and that photo of the boxing match is priceless. That was a sneaky way to get some attention from YOU to get a snack but it worked didn’t it! HAHAHA Hope your computer problem is resolved!!

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Thank you. It did work every time. I updated and the computer is working now. XO

  3. That is a sweet photo of the Angels boxing.
I have never seen pre threaded bobbins but that is such a good idea. Nine times out of ten I start them the wrong way and have to start all over again.

  4. There are good and bad people everywhere but on average, it seems young people are not being raised to respect others like in the past.

    1. I forgot to do my Fill-Ins!
      1. I could not eat chili without peanut butter.
      2. A simple pleasure I enjoy is riding my bike.
      3. If I could change one thing about myself I would not take things as personally as I sometimes do.
      4. It is hard to find my favorite bran flakes at Walmart these days. They want to put raisins in everything!

      1. Thank you for these great answers. Chili and peanut butter, never tried it- I like my chili with tortilla chips. It is hard not to take things personally. Sorry it is hard to find your bran flakes. Have a nice weekend. XO

  5. Great fill-ins, Ellen! I hope your computer woes are resolved soon. That is an awesome pic of angel Phoebe and angel Prancie boxing.

  6. I liked your replies especially No 4 it can be very annoying heheh!

    Nice flashback photo too

Those sort of computer probs can be trial and error, if you haven’t already try running a system file checker for missing or corrupted files.

    Have a fill-intastic week 🙂

    1. Thank you. That is a good idea for next time- it updated and was fine.Have a nice weekend.

  7. Great fillins and wonderful flashback!
I’m with you on #2-4. I could have said the same things. Not so much with #1 since I can’t sew. LOL

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Ellen color me SURPRISED…I had no idea one could buy bobbins ready to use.
WOW. I thread my bobbins w/o any problem but what a unique IDEA
    I love the photo of your 2 P Angels….
    Hugs Cecilia

  9. Love all your fill-ins and napping with kitties is always a winner.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

    What a precious Feline Friday.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

  10. Bobbins—one of the many things TW couldn’t do in Home Ec. One year they were making shortie pajamas and in an entire school year, she cut the pattern and that was about it. Thanks for hosting.

  11. Those were wonderful fill-in answers and us kitties like the napping with part too! The Dad always holds the door for people and if they don’t say thank you that’s okay, he just adds you’re most welcome MOL! That was a fun flashback.

  12. 1. I could not get through life without Jesus!
    2. A simple joy I enjoy is scrapbooking.
    3. If I could change one thing about myself it would be to lose weight.
    4. It’s hard to find time for everything I want to do.

    1. Thank you for these great answers, especially #1. I had the same for #3. I would like to scrapbook, but between blogging, tending to 11 cats and crocheting I don’t have time. Have a nice weekend.

  13. guyz….de food gurl could knot sew.. if her had sum one doin de act ewe ull… sewin….

herz knot a sharp tack in manee wayz ~~~~

  14. I don’t sew often, but I had no idea there was such a thing as a pre-threaded bobbin. I guess bobbins have become standardized over the years and they can make one or two styles to fit in the various machines.

  15. Totally agree with #2 and #3. Snuggling with cats always gives a sense of peace. I would like to loose weight as well, but it’s not easy for me.
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you. Same here with the weight loss. I can’t stop eating. Have a nice weekend! XO

  16. We enjoyed your fill-ins Ellen. The picture of Phoebe, Prancie and Stinky all together is such a great picture to have….such fun memories. Budd and Tyebe get fed at 8am every morning. Budd will wake Bill up if he’s not up by 8am. Then Budd and Tyebe proceed to have a play fight right at the bathroom door while Bill is washing his face. The preamble for breakfast.

    Shoko

  17. We get feisty like that right before it is time for dinner.

Mom says that is the first thing that struck her about our Dad when she met him – he had and still has excellent manners.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  18. Mom agrees with your #4. Some peoples’ kids!

    Sweet photo. 🙂

(Oh, and if you’re running Windows 10, no doubt it’s the updates. We had trouble for three days this week due to the 9 million they had. [OK, maybe 7.])

  19. Love all the shares and your Fill-In answers are good. I would like some warmer weather so I could take some walks, they always make me feel better. Hoping all is well in your world. Thank you for sharing HUG and LOVE

    1. Thank you. I agree, it is too cold and now snowy to walk here. XO and love to you

  20. Dad told me to say he hears you on the manners thing. It kinda goes along with quality customer service, apparently a thing of the past. Nowadays people are rude, selfish, thoughtless and more uncaring than ever before. And I don’t even want to get into the customer service thing.

  21. I LOVE napping with my two kitties. And they seem to enjoy it, too. They snuggle up against me and that is such a wonderful feeling.

And such a lovely photo of the three angels! xo

  22. Our #2 fill-in is very similar to yours. Love the boxing photo. Cooper Murphy and Mau get into wrestling matches at mealtimes just about everyday. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  23. Those are great fill ins. Yes since I have gotten a bit long in the tooth the fine motor skills I took so for granted elude me. Love that flashback of those wonderful angels

  24. Fantastic fill-ins! I have a lot of respect for those of you who can sew. Sewing is a skill my mother has, but that she did not even remotely pass down to me. I’ll admit that a sewing machine really intimidates me. And I of course completely agree with your #2. You are also so right with #4. It’s such a such shame that simple “please” and “thank you” have gone by the wayside. Thank you for sharing this memory of your angels Prancie, Phoebe, and Stinky! Thimble and Tonks also enjoy having a good ol’ slap fest. Purrs to all of you!
