Friendly Fill-Ins Week 156

Hi everyone! Thank you all for the purrs and prayers for Sammy.

Things did not go as planned. Sammy did not get his dental because the vet heard a “gallop” in his heartbeat. She didn’t hear it when he got his blood work 2 weeks ago. He will need an ultrasound of his heart before he can go under anesthesia. I am glad the vet chose to be cautious.

I still have no answers on the nose. She numbed it and tried to get a fluid sample, but there was no fluid. She couldn’t take a sample unless he was under anesthesia so that had to wait. She took an x-ray, but there “expert” needs to review it.

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. ______________ was a very good year.

2. There is nothing quite like _______________.
3. If I had a talk show, I would want to interview _________.
4. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for _________.
My answers:
1. 1992 was a very good year. That was the year we got married. I was thinking of other years when good things happened, but unfortunately bad ones did too in the same year.
2. There is nothing quite like sharing a bed with cats. It is wonderful in some ways like falling asleep to the sound of purrs, but then there is the scratches they accidentally give me and the pillow hogging. I can’t sleep without at least one though.
3. If I had a talk show, I would want to interview Nicolas Cage.
4. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for my immediate family and my cats.

We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus. We are also joining FiveSibes Flashback Friday.

Here is a flashback from 2014 or 2015. Sadly, 3 of the 4 of these kitties are no longer with us. Snowball, Lucy and Spooky are at The Rainbow Bridge.

  1. Purrs and prayers that Sammy Is Ok.

1996 was a good year, it’s when Mom Judy and Dad Dave got married .
There is nothing quite like a lap full of purring cats and a large cup of coffee
If I had a talk show I would want to interview Ellen DeGeneres. There is nothing I would not do for my family.

    1. Thank you for the prayers for Sammy. And thank you for these great fill-in answers. I like Ellen, she is an animal lover. XO

  3. We knew ya’d say Nick Cage!

And it’s best to be cautious – our pup Finley has a congenital heart murmur, so we’re careful about anesthesia for her too.

    1. I didn’t know about Finley’s murmur- I will add her to my prayer list. XO

  4. 1. The year I was Finally Successfully Spayed after 2 failed tries was a very good year. Peace I never knew after kittenhood until then…
    2. There is nothing quite like a food bowl in a sunpuddle.
    3. If I had a talk show, I would want to interview Dr Jeffry, our vet who is retiring this month.

    1. Thank you for these great answers Ayla. I am glad you were finally spayed successfully. I am sorry your vet is retiring. XO

  5. Poor Sammy, it sounds like things just aren’t going his way. Maybe next time.

We share our bed, too, and you are right, it’s a unique experience, worth the occasional pillow hog..

  6. I am sorry Sammy couldn’t have his dental. I hope the ultrasound shows there is nothing wrong with his heart.
I agree with #2 Fill In. Clinging to the edge of the bed, and waking up in the morning nose to nose with Flynn yelling at me to get food, Eric walking across my head in the middle of the night. Yes, I really do miss it.

    1. Thank you. I love sleeping with cats. That is funny that Flynn used to yell at you to be fed 🙂 XO

  7. We send lots of purrs to Sammy.
It is good the Vet os cautious and maybe they will find a safe solution.
    Sending lots of purrs.
    Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ

  8. Oh my…..we’re sorry that Sammy couldn’t have his dental because of a heart issue and we sure hope it’s nothing serious. As for his little nose – let’s hope the fact they couldn’t get any fluid means his nose is now OK. We’ll be standing by to hear more…..sending hugs in the meantime.

    Hugs, Teddy

  9. Great answers! Yes, there’s nothing like sleeping with a cat by your side. Although, one of my girls loves taking over my pillow especially when she wants her breakfast which is always early. LOL Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you. Sammy had 3/4 of my pillows nightly. I hope you have a nice weekend. XO

  10. It’s good that the vet is cautious indeed…and I hope nothing serious is going on with Sammy’s heart.
I love sharing bed with kitties! One of the best things 🙂

  11. Meowser Ms. Ellen, those are good answers. I had no idea us kitties could have galloping hearts, so Sammy is obviously very special. Purrs to you all for health and happiness.
    Purrseidon

  12. Well, I am going to keep sending good thoughts for Sammy. Sorry he couldn’t get that all out of the way yesterday. I know you were wanting to get it done, too.
When you mentioned sleeping with cats I had a flashback of us sleeping in a waterbed with four cats… it was crazy! Miss my waterbed and miss the cats!
    My Fill-ins…
    1. 1966 was a good year. I started high school and I loved it.
    2. There is nothing quite like summers in Florida. Dripping wet humidity.
    3. If I had a talk show, I would want to interview Glen Campbell. He passed away in 2017 but I would have loved to see him in person.
    4. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for a kitty in my care. We do what we can for cats in the area.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am glad you liked high school. I did not. Good choice of Glen Campbell. How kind of you to help cats in the area. Have a great weekend. XO

  13. Sammy sending purrs to you handsome boy and to your Mama I know she is worried.

Oh please tell Mama that Moo Cow arrived this week. I just put her back in her
‘pen’ and mailed her to Teddy. I will advise as to when I will post her visit on my blog
    Hugs Cecilia

    1. Thank you for the prayers for Sammy. I look forward to seeing what Moo was up to. XO

  14. Whoa! Healing purrz for Sammy. I’m glad you trust your vet. My first vet would just say that to get more money from us. 1992 was an awful year for TW. She lost her dad about a week before her birthday. I’m glad something good happened for you. She’s thinking 19983 cos she first saw REM then. I posted on FB earlier in the week about the benefits of sharing a bed with cats.

  15. Good answers! Poor Sammy, we’re sending tons of purrs. For what it’s worth, we had a kitty with a small bump like that once and the experts determined in was a birthmark, it never did bother him.

  16. Sammy, maybe you have a heart murmur? One of the white kitties before me had a heart murmur, but he still had a long life of 17+ years. I sure wish I had had the opurr-tunity to know Snowball, Lucy and Spooky. I’m sure they made grr-eat furr-iends. Fill-in answers: 1) the year Mom & Dad adopted me [2012]; 2) mac n’ cheese; 3) Choupette [Designer Karl Lagerfeld’s pussycat] & Grumpy Cat, of course; 4) Mom.
    Luvs and purrs.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am glad you got your forever home. It would be fun to interview Grumpy cat. xo and love too you too.

  17. You are so right about #2!
I keep my fingers crossed there’s nothing wrong with Sammy’s heart, but it’s a good thing the vet wants to be on the safe side.

  18. 1. 1970. I was old enough to do things and young enough to have no fear.
    2. To keep all the furs healthy and happy
    3. Einstein.
    4. A long walk. Tough being handicapped. When I got home to sit and relax with my buddy Buddy Budd. We like the same tv shows.
We are sending purrs and prayers for Sammy and the same in support.

    1. Thank you for these great fill-in answers. I assume you mean the physicist Einstein and not your kitty 🙂 Thank you for the prayers for Sammy. XO

  19. Aww! my best wishes for Sammy and hope it can get sorted real soon 🙂

I liked the fill-ins and the flashback too 🙂

    Have a tanfastical weekend 🙂

  20. So sorry to hear about Sammy. I’ll be keeping him in my thoughts and hoping that you have good results from the ultrasound.
Cute photo of the cats on the bed:) I know mine can get very crowded at times too.

  21. Keep us in the loop on Sammy. Being cautious is a good thing.

My marriage to Zane was a very good year too.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. My best to your mom. ♥

  22. I hope that you are able to find some answers for Sammy soon. It is so frustrating not to know what’s wrong. Sending purrs and prayers Sammy’s way.

  23. We hope things go better for Sammy and you in two weeks. All paws crossed for him.

We wish Mom and Dad would learn how wonderful it would be to let us sleep with them:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  24. Funny enough, my favorite year was 1997, the year of our wedding. ~grin~ Bless you, my dear! You’re in my thoughts and prayers, too.

    1. I guess we are both happily married. Thank you for the prayers for Sammy. XO

  25. We hope things get better for Sammy. We’re glad the vet heard that and chose to be cautious. Hopefully that bump on the nose is nothing to worry about either. ♥

  26. We’re glad Sammy has a cautious vet and are sending purrayers that all the news about Sammy’s health is good news! Jasmine and Tucker have bumps under their skin that isn’t serious or dangerous. I hope this will be the case with Sammy.
    Purrs & Head Bonks,
    Oliver

  27. Continuing purrayers and POTP for Sammy (and the rest of the crew)-Yes, better to be safe than sorry.

  28. Nicolas Cage! Of course 🙂

I do hope things get much better for Sammy. I think it’s great that the vet chose to be cautious. So much safer.

  29. Love your answers. I think #4 is my favorite. Will continue prayer for Sammy. We did Friendly Fill – Ins this week. Well I think we did. Daisy Mae is in charge this week so hard to tell what her answer will be. LOL, MOL.

  30. Oh Sammy, we’ve been purrayin’ really hard fur ya’, and will keep ’em goin’. We can’t ever ‘member a year that didn’t have more bad than good. But, we think every year since we’ve met you and our other furiends are the greatest years ever. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  31. We are sending so many purrs and prayers for sweet Sammy! What a trooper he is. Purrs and prayers to you as well, Ellen, because I know this waiting game is especially tough when it involves our furbabies.

Your fill-ins are fantastic, as always! Sharing a bed with cats is the best answer for #2. It’s amazing how much space a tiny cat can take up on a bed. And I truly hope you get to meet Nic Cage someday. There must be a way for it to happen!
