Friendly Fill-Ins Week 108

Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. There is  link to the hop at the bottom of this post.

1. My favorite subject in school was _______________.

2. An extracurricular activity I participated in was ___________________________.
3. I want to learn _________.
4. It takes courage to _________.

My answers:

  1. My favorite subject in school was Algebra,I just loved solving equations. After college, I was a tutor for several years and enjoyed helping others understand it.
  2. An extracurricular activity I participated in was student council. I was a member from grades 10-12 and the secretary for 2 years.
  3. I want to learn how to draw, I would love to be able to illustrate a children’s book I wrote myself. Prancie’s  Prayer will have an illustrator from the publisher, but maybe next time.
  4. It takes courage to open one’s heart to another pet after you have lost a beloved one, but I will continue to do it for the rest of my life. I would rather feel pain that never have all the love they give.

We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Joanie wants to show off her tummy today.

  1. Ugh, I’m just too full and tired to create a post right now so forgive me if I answer right here again, lol!
    1. Favorite subject in school-English lit-we had the best teacher, Mrs. Clark, who always let us act out the stories we read.
    2. An extracurricular activity I participated in was choir, until it got too expensive and my mom made me quit.
    3. I want to learn to write horror like Stephen King. You’d think as much as I’ve read of his, I’d be a pro!
    4. It takes courage to fail but keep on trying again!

    1. Thank you for your answers , I enjoyed them. Good teachers are so important. You should try writing, I think Stephen King has a book on horror writing.Have a nice weekend!

  2. Excellent answers and good for you learning to draw so you can illustrate your own books! Master Munchkin is quite good at drawing, but he also seems to make creatures all look sort of like dragons. IF you ever write about fire-breathing dragons, purrhaps he could give you advice.

    1. No dragons in my book, but I bet Master Munchkin is an excellent artist.

  3. I want to snorgle Janie’s belly!!

    1. My favorite subject in school was music…and biology…and German…

    2. An extracurricular activity I participated in was school orchestra, a string quartet and for a while I had a student I was coaching in violin.
    3. I want to learn how to play the piano, but I think the arthritis in my fingers will not make that an easy goal….
    4. It takes courage to learn new things, esp when it comes to the way you do things at your work.

    1. Joanie would love a snorgle, I do it daily. Thank you for these great answers. Clearly you were an excellent student. You should give piano a try, maybe it would help your arthritis. XO

  4. That is a beautiful answer to #4, Ellen. No matter how many fill our hearts, there is always room for another one.

    Aww, that’s a cute tummy, Joanie. 🙂 You’re a beautiful kitty.

    Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

  5. I cannot understand algebra. I zone out. However, when in Financial Management we had variables, as long as I knew what those variables stood for, I could understand it. As long as I knew t was time and i was interest, I was fine.

    Have a blessed week.

    1. I always have trouble with anything with finance. I hope you have a blessed week too.

  6. Math was fun once i got past grade school and a couple of really nasty math teachers.

Your precious pets thank you for being so willing to keep opening your heart to love.

  7. I was useless at algebra and maths. English and Art were my faves, and I quite enjoyed History too.

    Purrs xx
    Athena and Marie

    1. I can tell you were good at English and Art by your writing and art 🙂 XO

  8. Oh how I love your fill-ins today. I think you could absolutely do your own illustrating – people think they “can’t” draw or “can’t” write a poem but if you just TRY, you’ll find that you are able to do many things you thought you couldn’t! I know that your pets love you and your hubby SO much for giving them a safe and happy home. If not for you, none of them would have been blessed that way. By the way I absolutely HATED algebra!!! LOL

    Love, Pam (and Teddy too)

    1. Thank you. I need to find a class on drawing. XO and love to you both

  9. Your fill-in answers are just the greatest. And I so agree with number 4. You have a great day and a good week end too.

  10. Nice tummy, Joanie! I enjoyed algebra too, but I don’t remember much about it now. And your #4 is so right! 🙂

  11. Joanie, our mom would be all over that belleh! Her favorite subject was science–she wanted to be a geologist. (That could explain the rocks in her head.)

  12. Your fill-ins are so perfect! Algebra was always my favorite form of math, because I also really enjoy solving equations. I just love your #3. I bet you can draw wonderfully, and I would love to see you illustrate your stories. That is a goal of mine as well, to illustrate some of the stories and books I have planned. And I know exactly what you mean with #4. Though we can never replace a beloved furbaby who has passed, opening our heart and home to another is so rewarding. Oh, and Joanie, we’re virtually tickling your tummy! Happy Friday!

  13. How neat that you tutored! That’s nice. I used to help fellow students with reading and writing. Big surprise, huh? Heh… I want to rub Joanie’s tummy!

    1. That was sweet of you to help fellow students. Joanie loves her tummy rubbed, she is a sweetie.

  14. “I would rather feel pain that never have all the love they give.” OHMYGOSH…yes! I feel the same.

You should take up drawing. There are so many wonderful lessons on YouTube where you can just follow along. Anyone can learn to draw!

  15. Great answers. Algebra? It was hard for me to get through Algebra. You need it for statistics though.

I miss not participating in Friendly Fill-ins, but I’ll be off the computer shortly. Have things to do.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. My best to your peeps. ♥

    1. I miss seeing your answers- hopefully next week 🙂 Have a nice weekend! XO

  16. Excellent answers. You’re a lot smarter than TW cos the thought of any math gives her a rash. Only the most brilliant students were in student council.

    1. Thank you. I don’t think any of us in student council were brilliant 🙂

  17. We agree with #4 wholeheartedly! Our mommy’s favorite subject in school was Economics but Algebra was a close second.

  18. I so needed you when I was at high school Ellen as I was dreadful at algebra – I did two different maths classes so had to do it a lot. I’d love to draw too, but I think abstract is what I’m going to have to be content with.
Your answer to #4 is so true – it can feel like our heart has been ripped out and yet we are always able to find the love for another precious furbie to enter our lives.
    Have a lovely weekend.

    1. Thank you. I would have been happy to help you 🙂 I hope you have a nice weekend too. XO

  19. Exceptionally great fill-ins. Our mom also liked algebra, but she was awful at geometry. usually it’s the other way around. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  20. I SO agree with #4. I feel sad for people who lose their pet and say they will never get another because of the loss. I can’t imagine not having pets in my life!!
