Friendly Fill-Ins Week 105

Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. We should have the new badge for next week.

1.Happiness is _____________.

2. Ten years ago, I _________________.

3. _________ is the best medicine.

4. Most people don’t know that I _________.
My answers:
1. Happiness is living with at least one cat, preferably more.
2. Ten years ago, I was attempting to live a dream of mine, to be an actress. I got to be an extra in some films and a tv show. I was also in some indie ( means no pay) films. I discovered that I don’t like the repetition of scenes plus I am not wiling to move closer to where there are jobs. Also, I am not a very good actress 🙂
3. Snuggling with a purring cat is the best medicine.
4. Most people don’t know that I want to meet Nicolas Cage, that is the only thing on my bucket list. OK, you already knew that, but I like to remind everyone with the hope that through six degrees of separation I can meet him someday.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
Poor Brody had to go to the vet. He was constipated ( don’t tell him I told you). He is still not wanting to eat so any prayers and purrs would be appreciated. I don’t think he wants to have to go back for another enema.

  1. Poor Brody, that happened to HopeCat once, and once is more than enough.

How fun that you got to be in movies! Good for you, too, knowing that you enjoy it but that you are not exactly what most casting directors are looking for. Some people never realize that and live lives of futile wishing and hoping for what cannot be.

  2. Great fill-ins! I know you are a good actress – I have proof of that! Tee Hee Love your fill-ins but so sorry to hear that Brody’s “problem” has him being afraid to eat. Hopefully you can tempt him with something delicious that he can’t resist! Sending purrs and prayers…………

    Love, Teddy and Mom

    1. Awww..you are so sweet. Brody is finally eating. Thank you for the purrs and prayers. Love to you both. XO

  3. Poor Brody. I hope things get moving along for him soon. It’s so cool that you tried your dream of acting! But tell us… did you start acting with the hope of being cast in a Nicolas Cage movie someday? 🙂

    1. That was part of the reason , but I was interested in acting prior to Nic Cage too 🙂

  4. I always look forward to seeing how you filled in the fill-ins. Your #1 and #3 are so purrfect and true. I bet you are a wonderful actress, but I can also see how it would be difficult to have to move to where the jobs are. I like to stay put, so moving sounds like quite an endeavor. And I am always hoping that you’ll meet Nicolas Cage someday. It could happen!

We are sending our purrs and prayers to Brody! Get well soon!

    1. Thank you. I always look forward to yours too. And thank you for the prayers for Brody. XO

  5. Ellen,

I sympathize and empathize with Brody. That’s not a good feeling.

Well… I think that’s very cool you got to live out a dream by being an actress. I don’t think I’d like the retakes but if I was a big star then the money would be great compensation for my time. 😀 You must be a serious Nicholas Cage fan. I don’t think there are any stars that I’m dying to meet. Oh if I happen to be in the general location as they are then yeah, that would be super cool. Have a good weekend and thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my friend!

    1. I have liked Nic Cage since 1986, a long time 🙂 Have a nice weekend! XO

  6. Poor Brody… maybe some MiraLax? I know a couple of people with cats that it has worked for their kitties.
I know how much you like Nicholas Cage! How interesting about your #2 Fill-in!
    Here are mine today…
    1. Happiness is wine time at 4 oh clock… 🙂
    2. Ten years ago, I was wanting to be closer to the ocean!
    3. Friends are the best medicine with laughter thrown in.
    4. Most people don’t know that I am pretty shy and a bit of a homebody.

    1. Thank you. I am going to get some mirilax tomorrow to keep him regular. Plus no more cheese for him, he loves the stuff.
Thank you for these great fill-in answers. I wish you lived near us so I could give you some wine my hubby makes. He makes grape, pear, strawberry and other fruit ones too. Pam got to try raspberry when we met her in Maine last year. I am glad you got to be closer to the ocean. I am a shy homebody too. XO

  7. I’ve never understood why people were attracted to the entertainment industry – I know it seems glamorous when they have their galas, but if you’ve ever been on a set – which you obviously have – one quickly realizes that it’s basically a grand illusion.

  8. Poor Brody. He’s in my prayers. I won’t tell him you told me what’s wrong.

I knew about your love of Cage. I hope you get to meet him soon.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and a wonderful weekend. ♥

    1. Thank you. Prayers are appreciated. I hope you have a nice weekend too! XO

    1. Thank you for the link. Some other comments recommend mirilax so I will get some of that tomorrow so I can keep him regular to avoid another enema.

  9. I hope you do meet Nicolas Cage one day! And I hope Brody feels better. Sending lots of love his way xo

  10. We truly hope you get your Nic moment. You totally deserve it.

Poor Brody, that’s so undignified! I’ve been through it too…. And after the vet gave me the treatment, while we were waiting for it to take effect, I went over to where mom was sitting on the exam room floor so she could be near me. I plopped my hiney on her leg and ALMOST did it right there. But she moved at the last second. So close, so close. -Toby

    1. Thank you. And Toby, I am glad Brody waited until he got home 🙂 XO

  11. Oh poor Brody! I don’t know what enema is, but it doesn’t sound pleasant. (Mom had one a couple of years ago – Oops, she purr-obably didn’t want me to say that! Tee hee hee!) I sure hope Brody doesn’t have to go back to the V-E-T for another! Maybe boiled chicken and a plate of tuna water will help his system settle? Hugs and kisses for him.

  12. Healing purrz for Brody. TW got to meet many of the people she wanted to. I guess you have to look where he’s filming and be there. I bet you were a good actress.

    1. Thank you for the purrs for Brody. Nic Cage tends to film out of the country or in New Orleans- phooey! XO

  13. Purrayers & POTP for Brody – hope he is feeling better soon.

I just read that Nicholas Cage has bought a tomb in New Orleans’ St Louis Cemetery # 1 (apparently a vacant one) It is where Marie Laveau and many other well-known people are buried.

    1. Thank you for the purrayers and for the Nic Cage information. He seems to really like New Orleans.

  14. We hope Brody feels better soon – poor guy. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that dreams often aren’t all they’re cracked up to be 🙂

  15. We are sorry to hear about Brody and um, his problem. Quint suggests 1/4 teaspoon Miralax syringed with water twice a day ought to help until he’s eating again (sprinkle on top of canned food if he eats that). Quint’s an expert on Miralax now.

    Great fill-ins!

    1. Thank you Quint. I plan to get some tomorrow. I wonder why my vet didn’t tell me about that. XO

    1. It is on there now , so I guess it finally went through. I enjoyed your answers. XO

  16. How fun that you got to be in some movies and TV shows. We hope you get to meet Mr. Cage. If we knew him, we would make that happen. 😉

Poor Brody. Try miralax. Mix 1/4 tsp in his food twice a day. This is what Zoey gets.

    1. Thank you about Nic Cage. And thank you for telling me about Mirilax, I will get some. The vet never mentioned that and I asked about lactulose, but it was on backorder.

  17. I used to dream of being an actress too, but I never went as far as you did in pursuit of it. Kudos to you for trying (and I bet you were good).
If we ever run into Mr. Cage, we will surely send him your way. 🙂

We are sending many warm thoughts and prayers that Brody is feeling better soon.

  18. We had no idea you wanted to meet Nicholas Cage! Just kidding! Of course we knew! Sending lots of purrs for Brody to feel better soon!

  19. Awww I’m sorry that Brody is having some difficulties and hope all is well soon.

I hope that you’ll get to meet Nicholas Cage, too. I know that would make you very happy.

Your answer to #3 is purrfect. Snuggling with a kitty is great medicine. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend.

  20. Ellen,
Even I, who do not pay very much attention to much of anything, know you want to meet Nichols Cage. They say if you set a goal and put a picture representing that goal on your refrigerator, it will come true. Maybe that works, maybe that doesn’t. I agree, having a cat around makes things a little bit better.

    1. Thank you for the advice. I actually tried that, I have a photo my friend editied that looks like me with Nic, he made it on 2009 and I still haven’t met Nic.

    1. Thank you for the suggestion. I ended up getting Mirilax, but I will keep that in mind. XO

  21. Oh, Brody. Purrs to you, and by now I hope you are doing and going better…and eating purr-purr-ly.

1.Happiness is intangible but very evident when you are at peace with yourself and those around you.

    2. Ten years ago, I was in The Netherlands with my sister.

3.Laughing at yourself is the best medicine for the small mishaps of life.

    4. Most people don’t know that I played violin for a local symphony orchestra when I was in my twenties…my music teacher suggested it, and I did it until I moved away from there for a job .And in so doing I got to meet a fairly famous conductor who had taken on the job of helping to start that group, which still is there today, though it now has a different name and conductor. I have some old vinyl recording with him on them…

    1. Yes, he is better. Thank you for these great answers. I bet The Netherlands was a nice place to vacation. I did not know you played violin for a symphony- that is very impressive. XO
