Follow Friday Four Fill-In Fun and More

Happy Friday everyone! We are starting our hopping a day early this week. I am co-hosting Feeling Beachie’s Follow Friday Four Fill-In Fun:

The statements are:

  1. I always make a wish when
  2. Before company arrives, I ____________________.
  3. . I would live __________________ if _________________.
  4. . I speak _____________________ but I wish I could speak ____________

The code is:

<code><script src=”http://www.linkytools.com/basic_linky_include.aspx?id=261848″ type=”text/javascript”></script></code>

My answers:

  1. I always make a wish when I SEE A TRUCK FULL OF HAY, ENTER A NEW CHURCH, BLOW OUT BIRTHDAY CANDLES AND SEE A SHOOTING STAR ( I LIKE TO MAKE WISHES)
  2. Before company arrives, I MAKE SURE THE LITTER BOXES ARE SCOOPED, IF THERE WILL BE A LOT OF COMPANY, I LOCK THE CATS IN THE BEDROOMS WHERE THEY ARE LESS STRESSED.
  3. I would live WITH MORE CATS if MY HUBBY WOULD AGREE TO IT..
  4. I speak A LITTLE FRENCH I REMEMBER FROM HIGH SCHOOL but I wish I could speak POLISH SO I WOULD KNOW WHAT THE PEDICURE LADIES ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN MY MOM AND I ARE GETTING PEDICURES.

I am also going to join the Friendship Friday Hop:Friendship FridayCreate with Joy

Another hop I have been wanting to join and finally remembered is: The Friday 56 is a fun hop, you turn to page 56 of a book you are readingĀ  ( or 56% in a reader) and pick a line. I haven’t been reading as much this past month since my beloved Lucy has been gone. We had started to read My Street Cats Their Personalities and Social Behavior by Raphaella Bilski . Here’s a line from page 56 even though we only got to page 48: “One harsh winter day, we heard the fierce cries of a kitten.”

      1. That is the same as I was getting! I wonder if Mark’s Mews are using Feedly too.
That is a sweet picture of Lucy. (((hugs)))

      2. Yes I use Feedly and it’s doing the same thing! Been like it for a few days!! I will remove your blog from Feedly and try and re-add it!

        1. I tried removing and re-adding but the only sites feedly picks up are “Comments on 15 and Meowing”! So that is probably why we are all getting all the comments, not the new posts! For the time being I will ask to be added to your mailing list. It’s not a problem, but others who use Feedly (and possibly other readers) might be put off being notified of every comment! xx

          1. I know I would be annoyed to get every comment. I will ask around this weekend to try to fix it.

  1. Happy Friday! We miss Lucy too……..that line you quoted from page 56 of that book is a real “heart stopper” !

    Love, Sammy

    1. Thank you XO . The book is sad, about ferals in Israel where there are not a lot of programs to help with TNR.

  2. Oh sweets we bet you miss Lucy…they have such a huge part of our lives and when gone such a big hole is opened..we love your answers..especially about the hay truck) and hope soon reading can be fun again..loves Bev xx

  4. Sorry to hear about the passing of your beautiful cat, Lucy. My deepest condolences.
Thank you for joining in the Friday 56!

    1. I am glad you can read it again- I hope you don’t get every comment sent to you like is happening to so many others.

  5. Your answers were great, Ellen! We are so very sorry about Lucy having to go to the Bridge. Sending you lots of comforting purrs and prayers as you miss your special girl.

P.S. – we’re having the same issue as others who use feedly (i.e., every comment is showing up in our feed as a new post) … weird, huh?

    1. Thank you for your kind words about Lucy. Sorry about feedly, I am asking around to see how to fix it.

  6. Great fill in the blank answers. I haven’t heard the wish when see a truck full of hay!
    Hugs
    Madi and mom
Hopefully you get this comment. WordPress has been eating my comments today

    1. Thank you. After you wish on the hay, you can’t look at it again. I could write a book on superstitions.

  7. So far no issues with your blog here….

We clean our den like crazy afur company comes…
We wpuld love to live in a bigger less ‘old’ den…and meowmy knws how to say Good Morning/Good day in Polish…in her phonetic way of spelling it sounds like this:
Zhawn Dobra. Once she said that to patient who was Polish and knew no English, and then that lady smiled broadly and spewed forth many sentences none of which meowmy understood…OMC! At least she had made that lady happy fur a moment…
Meowmy knows a smattering of Italian, German and French as well as Dutch; which she can speak, read and write.

    Have a good weekend!

    1. Glad you are not having trouble with our blog. I am impressed that your Mom knows a little of all those languages-I have enough trouble with English šŸ™‚ Hope you all have a great weekend too!

  8. Those are pawsome answers!
We probably told you we could not add you back to our RSS feed in Feedly.
I am sure it’s a Feedly problem. So we are so glad that you add your links to the CB links so we can come visit everyday.
I tried and tried to get your blog readded to Feedly but it wouldn’t do it. I don’t understand why, one day it just quit adding your feed.

    1. Feedly seems to not like us. I am going to try to fix it this weekend by asking around and looking on forums.

  9. Yous sure do like da hoppin’. Weez sendin’ purrs and purrayers. We know yous will always miss Lucy but we also know eventually those feelins will turn into happy memories.

  14. Mom’s #3 would be the same as yours. She says her #4 would be that she speaks English but wishes she could speak cat. That is such a lovely photo of Lucy. You will always miss her, and we send purrs and prayers as you remember and grieve. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  15. We are not having any problems with your blog šŸ™‚ That is such a sweet photo of Lucy. We can imagine it must be difficult for you to read without her “help” but we also know she will always be with you in spirit as you read.

Our Mama likes to make wishes too. šŸ™‚

In Vancouver, the nail shops are mostly run by Asians so our Mama never knows what they are saying and wishes she spoke their language šŸ™‚

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. I am glad you are not having trouble with the blog. I do miss my Lucy, I know she is there in spirit.
I hope your Mama’s wishes all come true.
I think it is rude of the nail salon workers to speak another language in front of us.

  16. Ah, yes, that whole thing of wondering what those speaking another language around you are saying. I imagine in reality, they are not saying anything that we might have any reason to be concerned about. We have never had a cat. Too many allergic people and people who just more dog people.

    1. I never had a cat until I was married. I am glad I have them now. Dogs are great too.
