Caturday Saturday and Pet Photo Fails

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop.

I used Lunapic’s Illusion effect for my art. The puzzle is below.

We are also joining The Pet Photo Fails Blog hop hosted by Melissa and Mudpie. Rusty provided me with this month’s fail when he moved.

The A-Z Blogging Challenge is almost over. We are up to the letter X. As you know, my theme is Christmas. X for XMAS, only because I couldn’t think of another word. I absolutely hate it when people say XMAS and take Christ out of Christmas.

  1. I hate that Xmas term, too…it degrades what Christmas is all about. Somewhere I read thwart the X represents the cross, but I find that a lame excuse…to me X means Christ has been excised completely. Sheesh!

I read yesterday’s post when I got home from my work-shift, then completely forgot to comment! My brain must have been in shutdown mode, LOL!
Today I spent a good three hours yanking out dandelions and some other weeds as well, I left some in the far back of the yard so that the bees and butterflies will still find the nectar and pollen…I will never win the was r against those weeds, but at least I can decrease their proliferation!

    Thanks for the puzzle!

  2. You are too funny but yes, Christ definitely makes the word beautiful. Not a bad fail at all. At least we saw Rusty!

  3. That is nice art. I hate it when people replace Christ with an X too.

  4. Maybe Rusty didn’t pose like you wanted him to but he’s still front and center in the photo! The Lunapic art effect you chose for your puzzle is a goodie!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Rusty you almost lost your head there. We agree with your mommy about the word Christmas. Have a good saturday, it’s warm here but pouring down rain.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I wish it had rained here. I hate being outside and I had to be out to watch my little nieces play tennis and softball. XO

  6. I agree about Xmas….gosh right off the top of my head I can’t think of another X word associated with Christmas either

  7. Very good art creationg. And we agree, Christmas is all about Christ.

  8. The artwork is very pretty.

The X is for the Greek letter chi, which is the first letter in the word Christos, which is the Greek word for Christ. The X actually stands for Christ as an abbreviation in this instance. I don’t prefer to use it because people do not understand this point or some think it irreverent.

  9. Lovely art!

About Xmas – it isn’t an X – it’s the Greek letter chi (uppercase/lowercase Χ χ) which is the first letter of the word χριστός (Christos) which became anglicised to Christ.

  10. Illusion is a great effect for Emmy’s photo. I really like the contrast. Emmy is the show to watch! At least Rusty wasn’t being a hooligan. He really is adorable in a hooligan kind of way. I can’t remember what you called Rusty and Rudy when they were being extra naughty, Ellen. Nice to read in the comments about the Greek letter chi!

  11. Oona: “Oona doesn’t blame you for moving, Rusty. Oona is always on the move too. Places to go, people to see.”
Chaplin: “Where do you have to go and who do you have to see, exactly?”
Oona: “OONA IS NOT TELLING *YOU* THAT!!!”

  12. We like that walking picture of Rusty, so for us it is no fail…Oh and we like that blankie too 😀 Extra Soft Pawkisses for all of you, dear furriends🐾😽💞
