Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation and RESQWALK

Hi everyone, we are almost half way through the week again. Today is ROAR day and I have a great ROAR this week. Actually all ROARS are great because they help cats, but this one is very special.

I was pleased to read that an animal shelter is being built in Newtown, CT in memory of Catherine Violet Hubbard, a 6 yr. old girl that was killed in the Newtown shootings. Here is a link to the foundation: http://cvhfoundation.org/ . This brought me to tears that something so good could come out of such a tragedy. I am going to send a check for $10, I hope to send more someday.

I also have a free thing you can do that I saw on Hauspanther- all you need to do is walk and RESQWALK, an app for iphones will donate money to rescues. Here is the link: http://www.resqwalk.com/ . I don’t have an iphone so I can’t participate 🙁

This is going to be short as I am off to breakfast with my mom and niece. I usually require 24 hours notice to do anything and this was only 11.5 hours notice, but it is my mom and niece 🙂

  1. What a sad story! I certainly hope that they are able to get all of the money they need for that shelter. I will look into Resqwalk. I haven’t heard of it before, but it sounds wonderful.

    1. I agree it is sad, but at least the little girl’s family made something good out of something so horific. What a wonderful way to keep little Catherine’s memory alive.
