We Are Winners of a Chicken Dinner

Hi everyone! Look what we won from our friends Truffle and Brulee of Sweet Perfections

We won a giant package of Inaba Ciao treats! There are grilled fillets of chicken and tuna in a broth. They are vacuum packed and very moist and tender.

There were also Churu purees in little packages. Mom has been letting Snowball have them because she loves puree. Being the good sister that I am, I decided to test it for her -until Mom took it away- phooey!

We are going to donate some of the fillets to help trap the remaining ferals that Mom is helping with. Thank you Truffle and Brulee!

It’s Caturday!

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop today and Rascal and Rocco’s Pet Parade. And I want to thank everyone that participated in the Friendly Fill-Ins, I enjoyed everyone’s answers.

First, I want to thank Brian and family of Brian’s Home. About 6 weeks ago I won some litter on their blog, we won a coupon for any Tidy Cats litter up to $12.99.

DSCF1215 I chose the Lightweight and I used some in one box to test it. It does work very well. I also wanted my Mom to take the rest of the container for her cat. I think this lighter litter is especially good for her because of her arthritic hands. It is only 8.5 pounds compared to the usual 20 pound container.

Phoebe used ribbet today to design her art- she cropped a photo and added words to show her frustration of her slow-growing cat grass. phoebe grass

Caturday ArtPet Parade blog hop linky party is for all pets and animal lovers.

We were very sad to read that Toby’s cousin, Frankie lost his battle with cancer. Rest in peace, sweet boy:

PetSafe Ultra ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Hi everyone! We have another review for you today. As most of you know, I am not a fan of covered litter boxes because they remind me of porta potties. I decided to accept PetSafe’s generous offer of the Ultra ScoopFree Self Cleaning Litter Box because it cleans after each use.

*Disclaimer notice: We were given this product in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are our own.

DSCF0768 It is a BIG box, the litter tray is 22″ by 14.5″ by 2.5″

http://15andmeowing.comDSCF0770Sammy was eager to test it, but I told him he had to wait for the litter to be added.

DSCF0769The entire bottom box is disposable cardboard with a cover on one end where all the waste gets pushed into. There is a metal rake that you set to run after the cat gets out of the box, it can be set for 5, 10 or 20 minutes.

It also has a great feature that keeps track of how often the box gets used. Polar Bear and his 2 wives really need a self-cleaning box because I don’t scoop their box every time they use it like I do for the cats in the main part of the house.

Before that I let Millie and Penny try it. They used it once and got very scared of how it came to life after 20 minutes and scooped. DSCF0771

scoopfree Polar Bear, Noel and Tallulah used it 6 times for a total of 7 counting Millie ( sorry for the blurry photo). After 7 times, the litter looked fresh:

I am very impressed with this litter box, it is quiet and clean. It is expensive, but well worth it for those that really hate to scoop. It is good for up to a month for one cat, 10-15 days for 2 cats and 7-10 days for 3 or more cats. I priced the replacement box/litter and that is about $15 which is also pricey.

I also like that it keeps track of how often it is used, very useful for detecting UTIs. This is one covered litter box that I highly recommend.

Phoebe is getting her dental day, I am sure she will tell you all about it tomorrow. And Brody is getting his stitches out.

Feral Friday

Hi everyone! Last week I was offered a free sample of Pet Remedy a natural de-stress and calming spray. I had a choice of a plug-in or a spray , but I worry about plug-ins starting on fire so I went with the spry. We got this for free, but all opinions are our own.

The spray arrived on Monday which was perfect timing. Right after it arrived, I got the call from the people trapping the ferals for me. They had another one and he was not happy. He kept throwing himself against the back of the cage trying to get out. I sprayed this in the backseat of my car ( that is where I had the trap) and he stopped doing that.

The next day, when I brought him to the clinic, I sprayed the car again as well as the towel and he was fine the entire way. Added bonus, the smell of the spray covered his unneutered male odor. Now that he is quarantined, I spray it in his area twice a day to help him feel better.

It is made with valerian root which is known to be a calming agent. If you want to learn more about this or order your own here is the link .

Here is a link to an article about how helpful it is for all types of stress. Click here

I have a question. I know my niece got a rabies vaccine when she started working at a vat clinic many years ago. Today I called my Dr. and asked if I could get one that way when I am dealing with ferals, I won’t have to worry. I was told they cost $5,000 and you need to get that at the ER- most insurance companies don’t cover it. Does anyone have a rabies vaccine?

Taste of the Wild Tuesday

Hi everyone! Today we want to tell you about the food we won as part of Stunning Keisha’s #10CK Giveaway for her 10th Gotcha Day. We thought we had won a bag of treats so we were very surprised to receive a Chewy box with a 15 pound bag of Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Dry Cat Food. 002 Penny claimed the box, as you can see the bag is bigger than she is.

005 006 007 Everyone loved it- even KaTwo! That was 13 out of 13 cats that liked the taste. Then a few hours later the wild part kicked in. Prancie was walking around meowing and her pupils were dilated, Joanie was practically bouncing off the walls and Phoebe was very aggressive to Joanie  ( much more than when she plays with Prancie).

I decided to look up the ingredients ( I know I should have done that first). The one item that jumped out at me was chicory root. I know it is used as a coffee substitute and is caffeine free, but I am guessing it must be a stimulant. The only other information I could find about chicory root was it has a laxative effect. I am hoping it was what made Phoebe’s heart have the murmur-if it is not heard today then I will believe that was the cause. Has anyone else ever tried this and if so, how did your cat act?

I am not trying to sound ungrateful because this was a great prize, but I just can’t believe all the odd behavior my cats had from it. Chewy is a great company, but I won’t be purchasing this particular product again. And we love CK- thank you for having the giveaway!

Today is also World Spay Day and I am bringing in another feral to get fixed.

This poor guy is very afraid. And he smells a lot, I am sure his odor will go away once he is fixed. I am not looking forward to the car ride though.

Phoebe’s Selfie Sunday

Hi everyone! I got to see my Grammie yesterday and guess what she bought me?

012My own gumball machine! Remember how stingy Mom wouldn’t let me have the one she bought for marbles, well this one is better – it is pink. I love my Grammie so very much.

Please help me decide, should I put kitty treats in it or candy so Mom and Dad will have to pay me to get it out? 016

I am going to try to be extra good. I heard Mom talking to Dad and she said there really is such thing as H*LL.  She said it is in a place called Babies ‘R US.

Have any of you ever tried Dr. Elsey’s cat litter? 018Mom bought us some yesterday and said she would spread the word that you can get a coupon for $3 off a 40 pound bag if you click here and they will also donate $3 to MMRF (Multiple Myeloma Research Fund). Dr. Elsey’s wife had that kind of cancer in 2009. You can also upload a photo on Twitter and/or Instagram #CatsAgainstCancer

Thank you Toby and family for this beautiful badge you made for me.

I will be starting a Dr. Seuss giveaway on Thursday. I am joining The Cat on my Head’s Selfie Sunday Blog Hop.Cat4-001

Big Giveaway from Vision Bedding

Happy Saturday everyone! I recently discovered an amazing online company that makes all kinds of custom items with your photos. At Vision Bedding  you can upload any of your photos and have it made into anything from a canvas, blanket, bag, pillow, mural and even a shower curtain. If you don’t have a photo in mind, they also have several available designs from astronauts to zebras.

Two weeks ago I wrote that I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 2 canvases I chose. They arrived this week and I was more than happy. They arrived by Fedex , in separate boxes that were very well wrapped. I was impressed that they were covered in plastic inside because as you know, sometimes items get delivered and then it rains.

005 024I ordered the 20 by 20 canvas of the badges that Ann of Zoolatry had made for my angels.

025 visionbedding1

I am going to have my hubby hang them both for me in our room, but for now, I just used a 3M hook to get the photos on the wall. Vision Bedding already had a hanger attached which was another pleasant surprise.

I was pleased with everything about this company from their selections , prices and customer service. Once you upload your photo and place your order, you will get an email confirming your order and soon after you will be asked to check the photo for your approval. It only took a little over a week to get my order which I think is impressive being that everything is custom-made.

Now, for the best part. They have generously offered to have a giveaway of $100 gift certificate to be used on anything you want at their site. Please leave a comment and tell me if you have a photo you want made into something and what you would like to put it on. That is not what you would have to choose if you win, I am just nosy. I am only going to include comments on this post in the giveaway and I will keep it open until Monday night in case some people are busy with Valentine’s Day.The winner will be announced on Tuesday’s post. Anyone from any country can enter, but please keep in mind shipping costs, the $100 would have to cover your item and shipping . Good Luck!

I am joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop because I think this is great art.

Dr. Catsby’s Bowl for Whisker Fatigue

Hi everyone! I will announce the giveaway winner today, but first I have a review.

009Do you suffer from whisker fatigue?

You know what I mean, when it is hard to eat out of your bowl because your whiskers get squished. We were lucky to get a free Dr. Catsby’s Bowl for Whisker Fatigue in exchange for a fair review.

009 Millie loves it and as you can see his whiskers have lots of room.

011Joanie got to try it and she liked it too.

It is easy to clean stainless steel which is better than plastic that can cause acne. And there is a nice rubber bottom so it won’t slide around.

You can get one for $19.99 on Dr. Catsby’s website

My Mom and Dad are going out to lunch today so my Grammie is going to come watch us. Yipee! I love my Grammie so very much.

And the lucky winner of our giveaway is McGuffy’s Reader –Congratulations!

Toesies Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today we have some GoPets Best Dog and Cat Nail Clippers to review which seemed appropriate for Toesday Tuesday. 004GoPets sent these to us and only asked we add a link to the blog for them. I like their products so much that I wanted to review them to spread the word of how great they are.

Most of my cats are cooperative with nail clippings aside from some meowing, trying to bite my hand and attempting to wiggle away. Spooky was in need of a trim.

These were so easy to use and I like that there is a space in them. The other clippers I have, have a hole to put the nail through which is a bit of a challenge. I trim the nails of my friend’s cat and twice she has had one growing into the pad so it is impossible to use that pair. I hope she never has that problem again, but if she does, these will make it easier to deal with.

010After ( sorry the photos are blurry, it is hard to take a photo, hold a cat and push the nail).

There is still time to get them for Christmas, here is their link:

Now that my cats nails are all set, I am off to get a pedicure with my Mom. I am getting glittery red Madi 🙂

Mattless Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Thank you to all of you who said kind things about my awful singing, I appreciate it. I was recently contacted by the Amazon company, GoPets. They offered me a product in exchange for adding their link to my blog.

I am so thrilled with their products that I am doing a review today and tomorrow. I chose the Best Dematting Comb for Cats and Dogs because Tallulah had a couple matts that I was unable to remove with a comb or brush. They came out with 2 passes of this tool.

Next is KaTwo, she can’t reach the middle of her back so there is always an excessive amount of fur built up. 019020 021This removed it with just a couple of strokes. Regular combs don’t remove that undercoat unless I comb in the opposite direction which really irritates KaTwo. This didn’t even upset her, she seemed to enjoy it.

If you are interested in getting one, here is the link. They are on sale and there is free shipping if you spend over $35 so why not buy one as a gift too?

They have several other products, I will tell you about another one tomorrow.
