Happy Thursday everyone! Today is medical issues day and I don’t think I will ever run out of topics in that area. It seems like one of our 15 always has something.
This is Stinky: She is supposed to eat the same expensive allergy food that Prancie eats. I write “supposed to” because she loves to steal food from the other cats. Unlike Prancie, who gets skin issues and sneezes, Stinky gets ear infections. We always know when Stinky has been naughty because she will be scratching at her ears and making a “Xena sound” as she scratches because she doesn’t make the connection that she is scratching herself.
The vet prescribed an antibiotic that I squeeze into her ear and it helps right away. If your cat suffers from frequent ear infections, you may want to try a prescription allergy food( you have to get it from your veterinarian), it is pricey, but your cat will be happier and more comfortable. Of course, if you have more than one cat, it will be a chore to keep the food separate, but if we can do it with 15 cats ( most of the time) then I am sure you can hadle it too.
For throwback Thursday I am posting a photo of Barney-she passed away quickly of liver disease last year ( after many, many tests we never knew what caused it).We miss you 🙁
Thanks for coming to visit us. Sorry it took us a while to make it to your blog. Fifteen kitties is incredible. We thought Katnip Lounge was pushing it with 13. Our dad has declared “Eight is Enough,” and we never go over that many. Mommy is going to subscribe to your blog for us. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Thank you for subscribing to 15andmeowing. I am enjoying your blog-I love the name as I can relate to having a cat on my head.
Egads, 15 cats. You must have a huge house. I am allergic to commercial cat food as Stinky and Prancie are. I share my dry special food with my sister who isn’t allergic. There is just the 2 of us and this way mom can make sure I’m getting the right food. I too get ear infections, itchy skin and have only 4 teeth left. Her dental problem is Feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions (FORL) . I am usually a very happy cat with many cuddles and head bonks for mom and dad but after mom gave me Probiotics for a month I got the diarrhea problem back. Needless to say I no longer take probiotics. I so enjoyed your blog. Come visit sometime.
Hugs, Kali
