Blog the Change For Animals

Happy Thursday everyone!! Mom said I can have a giveaway and it is a good one, but first we are participating in Blog the Change for animals. This is the time to make a fresh commitment to act on behalf of animals in need. We have chosen to send some money to our friend, Joni Nelson in Boston, MA who feeds hundreds of ferals every morning before going to her job as a bus driver. She depends on donations to feed all these poor kitties and her poor heart gets broken often when they mysteriously disappear. Here is her Facebook page where she tells their story: https://www.facebook.com/joni.nelson.5?fref=ts She also does TNR as soon as she finds new cats and tries to place the ones that are not feral.

Now, the giveaway-Mom bought a Grumpy Cat yesterday at Michael’s Craft Store with her half price coupon and said I can give it away ( she already had one like this and some others πŸ™‚ ). She did say I have to make the giveaway a little longer so I can’t announce the winner ’til next Thursday-Phooey! Comment every day for more chances to win. 005And if you tell me how pretty I am you get an extra entry πŸ™‚ See you Sunday!

PS: I forgot to tell you my Grammie came and kitty sat us Tuesday and gave me lots of treats and pets- I love my Grammie very much. Can you believe Mom makes her stay with us if her and Dad are going to be gone for more than half an hour? Does she think we would get into trouble?

    1. Thank you for the compliment and for stopping by πŸ™‚ I thought everyone would want a Grumpy.

  2. I would love a grumpy cat toy. My human says at almost 14 I still have a little bit of kitten in me. Let’s hope snow and ice stop soon.

    1. Yes, I wish winter would end already. You are entered in the giveaway- good luck. 14 is still young πŸ™‚

  3. Awesome giveaway~ We are big Grumpy Cat fans here. (And we didn’t know Michaels carried plushes.) Love the adorable photo, and yes, indeed you are pretty.

    1. Thank you -we love Grumpy too. Yes, Michael’s has Grumpy and a little dog, Boo and pretty ponies. Phoebe says thank you, she loves to hear that she is pretty. Good luck in the giveaway.

  4. What a beautiful girl you are Phoebe! How wonderful you support Joni Nelson in Boston, MA and her ferals. When Mom worked, for years she fed the ferals there and provided shelter for them.

  5. Joni sounds like an angel on earth…thank you for sharing her story with us!

Wonderful giveaway too but we don’t need to be entered. We have that Grumpy and many others in our collection. (I was surprised to see that one in Michaels yesterday too!) One can never have too many Grumpys!!!

    1. I am not a volunteer- we just donate sometimes. If I lived closer , I would help, but I am an hour and 40 minutes away. Phoebe says thank you.

  6. Happy to hear about the efforts to feed feral cats.

…. and ooh, how cute is that Grumpy Cat?

… and how pretty are YOU!

  7. Phoebe – you are truly lucky to have such a nice Grammie to come watch all of you. Somehow I think Mommy knows best and she suspects that all of your siblings are not as “well behaved” as you. Maybe if you’re extra extra good, then Grammie will give you extra treats! You are definitely very pretty, but if you tell my Emily I said so, I’ll deny it – she gets very very jealous of other kitties. Yes, please enter me in your drawing! I love Grumpy. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks for visitng Diane πŸ™‚ And Phoebe said thank you, she won’t tell Emily πŸ™‚

  8. Joni is a special person, that’s for sure! Thanks for helping her out! I know how I’ve felt when a feral goes missing, so I completely understand Joni’s feelings. And I understand why Grammie comes over even for a little while. You guys would tear the place up, I’m sure!

    1. Actually, our neighobr got robbed 2 years ago and since then I never leave them alone longer than a half hour. I don’t care about my stuff, but if someone broke in through a window, I worry they would get out and get run over. I am over protective, I know.

  9. We already have a plush Grumpy Cat so don’t enter us. But I do want to say, maybe your grandma has to come over because there are so many of you kitties and it’s only proper you have a servant 24-7!

  10. Mom has a Grumpy Cat calendar and we all watched the Grumpy Cat movie. Of course we think all cats are stars! You are extremely beautiful, Phoebe. Grumpy Cat should be jealous of your star qualities. πŸ™‚

    1. Phoebe loved your compliment and said you get 2 extra entries πŸ™‚ I have a Grumpy wall calendar and the very hard to find page a day one too πŸ™‚

  15. Keeping rescue in the front of all you do is so important. We support several groups and rescues in our area and in other parts of the country. We are not rich but when we give what we can we sure feel rich inside.
Hey there is that Grumpy Cat we can win. I officially enter
And Phoebe you are drop dead gorgeous!
    Timmy

    1. You have lots of entries now πŸ™‚ ANd you can still enter for 3 more days. We are not rich either, but try to help those less fortunate when we can.

  16. It’s so kind of you to support Joni and her caring for hundreds of ferals. It sounds like the work she does is a wonderfully holistic approach to colony management. Thank goodness for her as well as supporters like you. It’s so nice to see a personal account of making a real difference. No matter how many times I read stories like these, I am filled with joy.

Thank you for blogging and being the change.
