Awww….Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays.

Rosie is posing with the book choice today because she has some house gossip. Tomorrow is Penny’s Day to give some money-making tips so I am letting her blab today.

Well, Rusty and Rudy are terrible two now and they are living up to it. They broke a dish. Mom had a stack of Halloween boxes to go back upstairs and there was a plastic football dish on top of them and they managed to tip a box over and the box made the plastic dish break into pieces. And mom wasn’t even mad because she doesn’t like football and had offered the dish to her niece, but she already had 2 and didn’t want it. They are lucky they didn’t break any of her precious Halloween ornaments.

And mom made chicken soup and invited Grammie over for some. She forgot to add one of the ingredients though- chicken. She claims she was drugged from her cold meds.

And now our book recommendation. Being that it is almost Veteran’s Day, I chose a book by a veteran. Every Day is a Gift: A Memoir by Tammy Duckworth is quite inspiring.  She was a Black Hawk helicopter pilot that was struck down in Iraq in 2004 blowing off both her legs and mangling her right arm. She writes about how she got through that trauma and lives life to the fullest. Her story is truly amazing and shows how the power of positive thinking truly helps.

  1. I have met many veterans in my work, and all of them, though they might have huge obstacles to face, are cheerful and willing to learn how to start over.Their zeal and zest for life never ends. Thanks to all veterans, past and present.

  2. That sounds like an inspiring book and Rosie looks cute sitting next to it! My four-year-olds are still in the terrible twos and it can be rough going for sure! XO

  3. That sounds like a very good book. People like her are an inspiration to others.

  4. Well, I liked your blog but could not get my photo up with the others to let you know. I did get a ‘ like’ in there. And yes, a plastic football dish is okay broken, haha. Loved forgetting the chicken! Must have been a lovely veggie soup, and I wish mama had some right now. It’s really cold where she is on the way home, but the sun is out. Only cold in shade….

    1. Sorry, some others have had trouble with the like button lately too. Yes, it was good veggie noodle soup. XO

  5. Paws Up to Ms Duckworth, she has been and continues to be an inspiration to many, not only for her military service but now serving so well in Congress.

  6. Dear Rosie, Tammy Duckworth is an amazing woman. Sorry that the boys broke a dish and yes it’s a good thing it’s not the decorations. And now your mom has made vegetable soup instead of chicken soup, LOL.

  7. Rosie, you sure recommended a great one. You got me smiling about Rusty and Rudy! The Terrible Twos is alive and wreaking havoc every darned day! In every family! Laughed at Leah’s comment too.

  8. The book sounds inspring and it is amazing how positive thinking can help healing within. Forgetting the chicken in the chicken soup sounds like something I would do. LOL

  9. Rudy and Rusty got lucky…this time. I had to laugh at your mom’s chicken soup goof. I’ve left out ingredients before but I think she bets me, though. lol Thanks for sharing the book review about our brave vet and her injuries. Have an awwwsome Monday, furriends!

  11. We can’t get angry at our kitties when they break things. We need to make sure our treasures are out of their reach. Terrible twos are awful, but they must go through them. We have to go through them with them too. Fun times.

Mom forgot the chicken in her chicken soup? You made me chuckle. I hope mom feels better soon.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. XO ♥

  12. That is an amazing story, for sure. Some of the finest folks I know are military veterans. And I’m with your mom on football. 😛 Back in 1990(?) I got a free football shaped phone from a magazine subscription. It came in handy when my husband and I rented our first apartment together.

  13. Oh adorable photo of you smart Rosie ~ sorry about the dish ~ sigh ~ Xo

Veterans are what makes this country great !

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

  14. Thanks for the book recommendation – it sounds like a very inspiring read.

Mom made chicken soup over the weekend – little did she know she would wake up today with a miserable cold (hoping its not covid). The soup will come in very handy. Dad doesn’t like it so she froze a number of single servings:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  15. Those naughty twins! This is why they make plastic stuff for toddlers that is too big to swallow.
I laughed about your Mom forgetting to put chicken in the chicken soup.
Your book selection sounds very inspiring indeed. When I think of it, most of us are just too spoiled.

  16. Sorry about the football dish, but since you don’t really like football … those two sound like so much fun though!
    That book sounds interesting, too.
oops – no chicken in the soup!! 🙂

  17. MOL on the chicken soup!!! One night I made lasagna…and left out the lasagna noodles!!! I’ve left the tuna out of tuna casserole too…
