Awww…Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Monday.

Joanie and Gremmie are posing with the books I am currently reading. Nobody Wants You Sh*t: The Art of Decluttering Before You Die by Messie Condo is a spoof of The Swedish Art of Death Cleaning, but it has a lot of tips to help declutter. And The Power of Unwavering Focus by Dandapani is a course in learning how to focus. this is a book all teens should have to read. The author explains that no one teaches us how to focus yet kids re always being told to focus. This is no different that asking someone who never took lessons to play the piano. I highly recommend both of these.

Rosie will be here tomorrow with the latest gossip.

  1. We had to do a lot of that cleaning up stuff for both my parents, my Aunt and my Mother-in-law…and later my brother-in-law…though there had already been a ton of downsizing, it was still a huge chore. We think it would be a good idea to do a downsizing here…because for sure our sons would not want all our stuff…
Those sound like good books, practical, too.
It is hard too teach focus…sometimes you can find it built in…sort of…if the chiild is interested in the material or project. First you have to find out how to ‘engage’ their attention, I think.

    1. I had to deal with my dad’s stuff and more recently, my sister’s so I am eager to declutter so my niece doesn’t have to deal with a lot of crap some day. XO

  2. Focusing is so, so important for kids. And they seem to be good at doing it as they watch Instagram videos, haha. Mama only realized recently that those videos are possibly the most disconserting pasttime anyone can have, young or old! Mama fortunately went to a school as a teenager at which you focused or you were OUT. Love the photo of your darling.

  3. Nice of Joanie and her pal Gremmie to pose with your current choices of reading material! Maybe they are learning something from them too??!!

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam

  4. Joanie you have helped your mom pick out two good books. I’m all for the second one on focus. Boy do I remember being in school lifetime ago and being told pay attention focus. No one really ever said how I was supposed to sit down and think about things. I guess I’m lucky that I had such good grades in school.

  5. We have de-cluttered very well with the remodel we’ve been doing. I can’t count the piles of useless things we were hanging on to. All gone now and we’re not done either.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. XO ♥

  6. Charlee: “I don’t know, I mean, Dada is always cleaning out our litter pans and taking the stuff away, so it seems like somebody must want our—”
    Lulu: “Just stop right there.”

  7. I started and stopped two books this weekend; they just didn’t hit me.
But that’s okay; there are 707 books on my TBR list, and those only include book 1 of series, so I’m never without.

  8. I’m making note of all these organizing and decluttering books. I need to just start to do it. I hope you have a great day!

    1. Sounds like she had a wonderful dad. That sounds like an interesting story about the lady with a personality disorder. XO

  10. It’s good that Joanie and Gremmie can get together to reinforce each other’s focus. Sometimes having a friend help you out is a good thing, as long as you don’t fool around.
