Hi everyone. We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays .
Dusty is posing with two of the books that I am currently reading.
Both are good and both have Bear in the title, but they are very different.
Somewhere a Boy and a Bear : A. A. Milne and the Creation of Winnie the Pooh by Gyles Brandreth is an interesting biography of how Winnie the Pooh came to be. The librarian sent this book home for me when my hubby picked up books at the library for me. She knows I like non-fiction, and she was correct that I would enjoy it.
Black Bear: A Story of Siblinghood and Survival by Trina Moyles is also a good book. The author tells of growing up in Canada with a father who was a wildlife biologist. She also writes about the relationship with her brother who is an addict.
There is a cow pasture across the street from my sister-in-law’s house and I have become friends with this cow. I wish I could adopt it. All the other cows are black beef steers. I am not sure if this is a milk cow or a beef steer too, but I feel bad for it and would love to keep it. Of course, my husband says no.
Rosie will be here with all the latest tomorrow.

Those sound like good reads!
Your bovine looks quite content. Cows always seem so chill…well, most of the time. We have a few cows down the road from us, and if I walk there, they come to the fence to check me out!
They are. Yes, they are a mellow creature. XO
Those books do sound good! The cow looks sweet, and some of them can be, but they are just so big! We always need to be careful around them; that goes for horses and ponies too. XO
They are. Yes, very big. I couldn’t afford to have one. XO
The books sound good. The cow looks good natured, but judging by the head it looks more like a steer. If the fencing stake hadn’t been where it is, it would have been much easier to tell 🙂
I need to get better photos. XO
Sorry that you can’t keep that cow but it’s nice that you’ve made friends with it!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Thank you. XO
I will have to look for the first book about the writer of Winnie The pooh. I would think that would be extremely interesting as I love the actual book Winnie the pooh. I can’t wait to get back on my bicycle so I can be around cows again.
Yes, you would enjoy it. I hope you can ride soon. XO
Cows have deep set eyes. Thanks for sharing these two book titles. The biography would be an interesting read. 🙂 Have a pawwwsome Monday, Ellen! xo
Yes, they do. You’re welcome. XO
Thank you for sharing the book titles. Aww, cows have such soulful eyes, and how nice he or she is your friend.
You’re welcome. Yes, they do. XO
I want to adopt all creatures too. It’s a gift.
A gift and a curse.
Those both sound like good books. Especially the one about Winnie the Pooh.
They are both good. I actually prefer the other book.
I read about three non-fiction books a month, which includes the one assigned for the non-fiction book club at the library.
I tend to find topics like museum art theft and unsolved murders.
My history professor gave me an unsolved murder to research, and those hours spent in the basement of the college library, looking through microfilm, made me feel like Sherlock Holmes.
Those sound interesting. And how cool of your professor. XO
Now adopting a cow would be more trouble than not and you would regret it. But, wouldn’t it be really cool???
It would be a lot of work and I can’t keep it in the house so probably not a good idea. XO
Your cow friend looks very sweet.
It seemed to be. 🙂
Charlee: “A boy and a bear! That could be about our Dada! He had a bear and a bunch of other stuffed animals, some of which are still on a shelf in the corner, but his Papa called them all ‘bears’, even the ones that were rabbits or ducks or whatever.”
Chaplin: “Our Dada saw a movie not too long ago called ‘Black Bear’ with Aubrey Plaza. I don’t think it’s the same as that book.”
Lulu: “Cute cow! Mooooooo!”
Awww..that is sweet.
Yay on the books. Reading is a wonderful thing.
I can’t tell if this is a cow or steer. You didn’t get the back end for me. Cows can be very loving. Bulls never.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the kitties and love and hugs to mom. ♥
Yes, it is. I will have to try to get the other end. 🙂 XO
Dusty ~ you are adorable with the delightful books and a cow for a neighbor ~ Wow!
Hugs ^_^
Dusty thanks you. XO
Both books sound very good.
That is a most beautiful cow….was it your sister in laws?
Hugs Cecilia
They are. No, the place across the street from her is a farm. XO
Beautiful cow. I’m sorry you can’t adopt it.
Dusty looks good with those books.
Thank you. I wish I could. XO
Oh, Dusty, what a sweet face you have😺We cross our paws for you that your hubby says yes to the cow, after all😸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you🐾😙💞
She is a sweetie. That won’t happen, but it would be nice. xO
That is so amazing that the librarian added a book! In my mind, that makes you super cool. 😀 And of course you befriended a cow. ~grin~ I hope the house situation gets settled soon; it must be exhausting both emotionally and physically. Hugs, my dear.
Awww…thank you. 🙂 Yes, it is, but we will be done soon. XO
Those books sound good. Hey, 15andMooing sounds good too!
I like the sound of that 🙂
Cows are the sweetest animals and they always look so sad. For good reason 🙁
Very true. It is like they know what is going to happen.
The books sound good. The cow is cute, wish you could adopt her.
Dusty, thanks for modeling, you do it so well.
It would be fascinating to read about Milne and his bear and how the stories came to be.
As far as adopting a cow, your area might not be zoned for large livestock.
Dusty thanks you. Yes, we are zoned and we have a barn, although it does not have a concrete floor like they need. XO
Enjoy the bear books. That is one adorable looking cow!
Thank you. 🙂
