Awww…Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays . Friday is posing with the books I am currently reading.

Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as A Woman is Brooke Shield’s latest book and the title is self-explanatory. I am enjoying it, she writes as if she is talking to a friend. And as a woman who is only 4 years younger than Brooke, I can relate to what she is writing about.

Every Sunday, my hubby and I watch Sunday Today on NBC. There is always a segment called; A Life Well Lived about someone who passed away recently that made a lot of contributions to society. A couple weeks ago, it was about Clint Hill. I had not heard of him before, but when I heard the segment about him, I wanted to learn more. He was the secret service agent in charge of protecting Jackie Kennedy and he tried to save the president when he was shot. His book, Mrs. Kennedy and Me: An Intimate Memoir is interesting so far. I am only 2 chapters in so far.

Rosie will be here with all the latest tomorrow.

  1. The famous agent was so brave and feels so remiss that he couldn’t save the President, but no one could have. An amazing man, the agent. What a great book suggestion. And now when so many are living to 100, getting older seems to be pretty much the way we’re going, haha.

  2. Clint Hill’s story would be a good one to read, I think. Getting old is no fun but it’s better than the alternative, right?

  3. That is a sweet pic of Friday! The book sounds interesting, and thanks for sharing. I look forward to Rosie’s gossip tomorrow.

  4. I have always liked Brook Shields. She’s fun. This book is a must read I think.
Since I was in grade school when Pres. Kennedy was shot and watched the funeral,
I always am interested in the history around it. I had forgotten Mr. Hill’s name but
I remember his part in the event.

  5. I won’t forget that event ever…but I didn’t know Mr. Hill’s name.
Regarding Ms. Shieds, a few of we women do have to come to terms with growing old. And as another commenter said…it beats the alternative. And you have to remember that~ and be glad of it. 🙂

    1. She has come to terms with it too and the book is about that and how she doesn’t like how pushed aside we get as we age. XO

  6. Sweet photo of Friday ~ books sound good too ~ hugs,

  10. Both books sound good and Friday did a great job posing. I pray you all have a blessed week.

  11. Java Bean: “Ayyy, Brooke Shields is not allowed to get old? So is not getting old an option? If so, I would like to not get old as well!”
Charlee: “Well Bean there’s really only one alternative to getting old, and I don’t think you would like it.”
