Awww…Monday

Hi everyone!  We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays

First off, Penelope is posing with some books I am currently enjoying.

The Uptown Local: Joy, Death, and Joan Didion: A Memoir by Cory Leadbeater is an interesting memoir. The author was personal assistant to Joan Didion for the last 9 years of her life, so he has quite the story to tell as well as his abusive father being in federal prison and having to visit him.

And Becoming Supernatural: How Common People are Doing the Uncommon by Joe Dispenza is a little out there, but interesting. He writes about many people who using meditation were able to heal themselves physically and emotionally. I do believe meditation is useful, but I can’t believe it is a cure all for everything.

And our resident model, Dusty is sporting a polka dot summer frock today.

I tried some red shades with it, but she took them off. I guess she felt they would be too much with the polka dots.

Rosie will be here tomorrow.

  1. But does she know how to polka, too? What a kitty! Mama can’t wait to read the book from Ms Didion’s assistant. Mama thinks Joan Didion is the most unique, original writer she has read. EVER.

  2. Yeah, I’m with you on meditation. I think having a positive attitude can promote healing or recovery to an extent but usually rest, proper medical attention, and prayers gets the job done. 🙂

  3. Dusty, that dress absolutely IS you!!! You look adorable and polka dots are perfect for you. I wonder if there is a little pinafore to be found?

  4. Dusty is a cutie pie and she doesn’t want red shades. Cats do what cats want to do.

You always read the most interesting books. Books are wonderful.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥

  5. Chaplin: “Dusty, you sure look cute in your polka-dot frock!”
Oona: “Oona gets it about the red shades, Dusty! The other day, Dada put Oona’s orange collar on her again. He says she looks pretty in it, but Oona says it makes it too hard to hide in shadows, so she removed it. Twice! Dada got the message the second time and put the collar back in the drawer.”

  6. The polka dot dress is just perfect on Ms. Dusty. Maybe she can save the shades for her adventure outdoors. Mom is reading (listening to) The Lost Bookshop and enjoying it very much, a little farfetched but interesting.

  7. I need your clothes shopping expertise, Ellen. Dusty looks stunning. 😀 And thanks for sharing your recent reads. I had to look up Joan Didion. I tend to live in a shell. lol Hugs, my dear.

  8. The books are interesting although I agree, meditation cannot cure everything.

Dusty is beautiful in her summer polka dots. She’s right about the glasses, probably.
