Another Hopping Monday

We are joining Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays, McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks and Mewsic Moves Me ( hosted by Curious as a Cathy, Xmas Dolly, JAmerican Spice and Stacy Uncorked.) I am also joining Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

I am honored to be the Spotlight Dancer this week on Mewsic Moves Me, Xmas Dolly chose my theme choice which is song titles that are names of places-thank you!  And here are my choices- all NYC related.

NYC from Annie on Broadway-

2. Ed Sheeran’s New York-

3. And my all time favorite, Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York-

This week, I am reading a book written by a fellow blogger. Feline Opines by Anita Aurit

Emmy is posing with the book.

And Brody wanted to pose with one of Tucker’s photos, they look a little alike.

This is a 36 page devotional for cat lovers. Each of the 5 cats takes turns reflecting on Scripture that pertains to animals. I am loving this book and enjoy reading a page a day and reflecting on it. I bought my copy on Barnes and Noble ( I am trying to keep them in business), but you can also get it on Amazon , it is free with Kindle Unlimited. Click here

This is Holy Week so I have chosen a Jesus quote for my Spark. ” Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. ”

  1. Visiting from McGuffy’s Reader’s link up! I love your choices in music and the book sounds great. I think I’ll grab it on Kindle Unlimited. Sounds perfect for Holy Week and beyond. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Brody does look like Tucker! Love your NYC-themed music choices…..You certainly chose a wonderful quote for your Spark for Holy Week.

    Love, Pam and Teddy too

  3. Those really are some great music choices. Some of my very favorites. Good job Emmy posing with the book. You all have a fine Monday.

  4. Frank Sinatra… ♥ Major crush in my teen years. I am reading Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty for my new book club. A most beautiful and timely Spark. Keeping Barnes and Noble in business is a good thing. I miss them. Out our Magic Gate I have a Books-A-Million which I am very thankful to have but I love Barnes and Noble stores!

    1. I listen to Sinatra all the time. I have never been in a Books-A-Million. A book club must be fun. My Sammy is in one at Cat Scouts, but I forget to bring him to the meetings despite reading the books. XO

  5. I love Frank Sinatra. What a voice he had.

Love all the kitties and I love your book. I visit there too.

Love your spark. It’s ever so true.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your mom. ♥

    1. I listen to Sinatra all the time. I commented on your post, but it disappeared 🙁

  7. I wish there was music like Sinatra’s these days. Now, I will definitely have to get my hands on a copy of Feline Opines. It sounds like a fantastic read! And I love that you chose a spiritual quote for Holy Week. What beautiful scripture.

    1. Same here, I love Sinatra and that is all I play at home. I think you will enjoy the book.

  8. First of all, we NYC kitties LOVE your choice of music! MOL Second, that sounds like such a lovely book, and it’s a great idea to keep B&N open. Do you know that there are no more physical stores here in Queens??? And lastly, that’s a lovely spark.

    1. NYC is the only city I love. Sorry there are no more Barnes and Noble stores in Queens 🙁

  9. The book sounds good. I love the photo of Tucker looking like Brody 🙂
Good thing you try to keep B&N open for business. I’ve been getting things from places other than Amazon as much as possible but it’s not always possible.

  10. You chose the perfect Spark to share for this week, Ellen! Trust in God always, and especially when times are difficult. When we learn to trust in Him, we can let go of fears that overwhelm us. We are loved, we are cared for, we are in His hands! XOXO

  12. Great music choices Ellen, especially Frank Sinatra. That book sounds lovely and Emmy and Brody look like they’re enjoying it.
Beautiful spark that we should all remember. Have a lovely week.

    1. Oh and we can’t wait to hear New York New York after those Yankee wins at the ballpark in the Bronx! TW is shouting it out right now.

  13. That book sounds wonderful, i would never have thought of doing devotionals from Bible quotes that have to do with animals. It does make sense, though.

    Happy Monday!

  14. The devotional sounds interesting. Some people are so inventive in how they approach things. Can’t go wrong with the Spark quote you chose.

  16. We enjoyed the music today. Even though it’s not the same song, our mommy is now humming Ed’s ‘Shape of You’ song. She’s crazy. That book looks wonderful too!

  17. Thanks for the quote! And that cat Scriptural book sound awesome!

Love the Sinatra song too. 🙂

  18. Oh! The Mom LOVED the music and the Spark, I, Marvelous, loved seeing Brodie…are you sure that is NOT him in the book?

  20. Great Spotlight theme Ellen! I had fun with it.
Loved your NYC songs, especially Ed Sheeran’s. I have really come to enjoy his music. Thanks for introducing me to this song.

    Have a good week,
    Michele at Angels Bark

  21. Thank you so much for your kind words about the book. I agree about Barnes and Noble and will use their link in the future. I do have to say that the Tribe of Five is a little put out that my name is on the cover. They keep reminding me
I am only the purrsonal assistant. Emmy and Brody are great models. I’m thinking about doing the next book with felines from the blogosphere opining on various subjects. I hope Emmy and Brody will consider piurrticipating.
Purrs and Head Bonks from Tucker, Jasmine,
Lily, Oliver and Alberto and their purrsonal assistant (and general lackey) Anita

  22. Congrats on your theme being chosen XO
My Dad used to love Frank Sinatra when he was alive. That song brought back some memories. Thanks 🙂

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. I listen to Frank when I am cooking 🙂 That is sweet that his music makes you think of your Dad. XO

  23. Ellen,

I’m sorry for the late dance, dear friend. On Monday, we laid my father-in-law to rest beside my sweet mother-in-law. They are now buried side by side on the small plot of ground on their homestead just below the barn Grandpa Kennedy built more than hundred years ago. It was hard for us to say our last goodbyes to him but we know he’s now in heaven with Jesus and the love of his life. I sure did appreciate your prayers, as did DH.

Now, CONGRATS on being this week’s SPOTLIGHT DANCER! Your theme song choice was fabulously fun and I can see this being a good candidate for the future. There are plenty of excellent city song choices out there yet just itching to be played.

I saw the movie, “Annie” but I can’t place that song and Ed Sheeran’s tune doesn’t ring a bell, so I appreciate you bringing these to my attention to enjoy this morning. The only song I knew well is Frank Sinatra “New York, New York” cover. This song was written for and performed by Liza Minnelli in June 1977. Sinatra began performing it regularly in concerts the following year. Regardless of who sings it, we all know it!

Great song choice! Thanks for saving a dance for me. 😉
