Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section.
Joanie and Sammy thank you all for the birthday wishes.
They shared a kitty cake ( canned food) and got some Temptations for a present. Joanie was sad that her friend, The Great One wasn’t here so we will celebrate again on Tuesday.
Sammy’s day wasn’t as good as Joanie’s. He went to the vet with Prancie because they both were due for thyroid blood work.Bad timing on my part.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Tell Joanie and Sammy that they need a birthday MONTH to celebrate – more parties, more cat food cakes and more fun! And hopefully no more vet visits.
I celebrate a birthday month, they should too 🙂
Aww I’m sorry that Sammy had to go to the vet on his birthday. Other than that, I hope it was a wonderful birthday for both Sammy and Joanie. It looks like they are really enjoying that cake. 🙂
Your book sales will improve. Its just getting started, but I fully believe it will take off!
I agree with your answer to #3. I think He lets things hinder us for a reason and most often that reason is for our protection.
Have a blessed weekend!
Sammy is spoiled every day 🙂 Thank you for helping to promote my book. I hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO
You’re welcome, Ellen. So far so good here. I hope that yours is going great, too. 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Number four would have to be, Possibilities.
Very true.
Hang in there. The book sales WILL pick up. Have a blessed week.
Thank you for helping to promote it. I hope you have a blessed week too.
Poor Sammy having to go to the vets on his birthday!
I was looking to find the book on amazon but it doesn’t look like it’s on the UK site if it is on amazon. 🙁
Thank you for checking, I will look into it because I thought it was supposed to be available on there.
Hopefully that trip to the vet for their birthday turned out to have only good news on their health – at least THAT would be a “gift” for them! Looks like a nice one with a delicious “cake”. Book sales always start off slow but the more word gets out the more sales!! HAPPY FRIDAY!
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you. Yes, he got good results 🙂 XO
Ms. Ellen, we liked all your answers except #2… and we hope that as the oword gets out more, your sales will pick up. Most of what we sell are ebooks, but we don’t know if it’s the same for picture books.
Thank you. I don’t think sales for picture books as ebooks go very well.
The birthday party sure looks like everyone had a good time. Hopefully, the book sales will pick up. The info on it just needs to get out there and get people to see it. Have a great day.
Thank you. I hope you had a great day too. XO
LOVE all of your answers especially the one about what is in disguise.
I hope your book starts to pick up. I actually didn’t know you had written a book.
Thanks for sharing and for sending me the questions each week.
Thank you for participating, glad you liked my answers. XO
I like the “a disappointment is a blessing in disguise” that one is enough to make a person stop and think.
The last time I had pumpkin pie was too long ago!
Taking your cat to the vet isn’t fun! (thought of you(
The weather is a blessing in disguise. (don’t know why that
popped into my head but it did so I used it)
My favorite word is AWESOME! (although I liked your “yes” and the reasoning of it LOL)
thank you
Thank you for these great fil-in answers. I hope you get some pumpkin pie soon 🙂
Ellen,
Don’t be disappointed about book sells. I think it will improve. The good mews is you’re published, so maybe others will want to share the mews of your book by hosting a little promo to get the word out there. 😉
Disappointments can be blessings in disguise. We just need to look for the silver lining in everything. It’s there, we just have to discover it!
Have a good weekend and thanks for hosting the Friday fun!
Thank you for your post yesterday, I appreciate it. XO

Looks like the kitties had a great 13th birthday. I knew you’d see that it was a great day for them.
Thanks for co-hosting Friendly Fill-ins.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Scritches to all the kitties. ❤
Thank you. I hope you have a great weekend!
Great fill ins. Happy Birthday to Joanie and Sammy. I’m sorry Sammy had to go to the vet on his birthday, though.
I hope the book sales go up soon. I think it just takes time. Good luck!
Thank you and Joanie and Sammy thank you too. XO
We hope those book sales pick up, ya really got to push it, or so I hear. Y’all have a grand weekend.
Thank you. I will try.
Belated wishes to Joannie and Sammy. Tis a great book and should sell well. Great fill-in answers. It took days for me to figure out 2 and 3 and I still didn’t get it. In fact I just changed one of them.
Joanie and Sammy thank you. I thank you too. XO
Happy 13th Birthday to Joanie and Sammy. My 4 cats just turned 11 on Monday.
Thank you. And Happy Birthday to your 4!
Happy belated birthday to Joanie and Sammy! Looks like they enjoyed the kitty cake 🙂
They both thank you.:)
I always look forward to your fill-ins. I have never flown on a plane, and I kind of hope that I never do. Don’t lose hope in your book! You’re still in the early stages. You will sell more and more books as the word spreads and as your marketing reaches more people. I’ll be buying a hard copy of it very soon. It’s already in my Amazon cart! Your #3 really had me thinking. My car was in the shop for 2 days this week, because none of the mechanics could figure out why the a/c would work sometimes but not other times (they did figure it out, thank goodness, because it’s still over 90°F here!). Now I’m wondering if those days without my car were a blessing that I’m not aware of. And your answer to #4 is purrfect!
We’re so happy Joanie and Sammy’s birthday was so wonderful! Sorry you had to go to the V-E-T on your birthday, though, Sammy. Did you get even more treats for that?
Thank you. That is sweet of you to get my book. There is a positive to everything if we look for it 🙂
I am glad Joanie and Sammy had a good birthday even though Sammy had to go to the vet.
I am sure your book sales will pick up as it is such a sweet story, and the illustrations are beautiful.
Thank you. XO
Thanks for the share. We are just like you with staying at home with our little ones. Happy to see Joanie and Sammy have a great birthday together. That looks like one delicious kitty cake. Hope you have a wonderful first weekend of fall.
Thank you. Fall is my favorite, I will love every moment of it. 🙂
Ellen I think your book sales will pick up around the holiday season…keep
doing your promos on your blog too.
Hugs
Cecilia
Thank you, I hope so. XO
#3 is so true. And it’s best not to be upset about most of the many turns life takes us.
I agree.
Happy belated Birthday to Joanie and Sammy! Our mommy prefers to be home too but she’ll be back on a plane next week. Daddy is staying home with us so we’ll have a party. Lexi won’t be invited. MOL!
They both thank you 🙂 I hope your mom has fun.
Trying to leave a comment, hope it works this time.
Sammy has my sympathy, i once had a dentist appointment on my birthday, they pulled four teeth.
My hope for your book is that it’s a sleeper, slow start, then a take-off.
Thank you. That would be awful for any day, especially a birthday.
Happy Birthday to Joanie and Sammy so sorry to hear Sammy had to go to the vet hope he is in good spirits now 🙂
Have a partytastic weekend 🙂
They both thank you 🙂 We hope you have a nice weekend too.
We think the word YES always brings much better things into one’s life than NO!!!
Happy weekend.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Very true 🙂
Well, that’s not a great way to spend your birthday, Sammy. We hope all went well for you at the vet.
Thank you. Yes, good blood work 🙂
I hope the sales pick up! Perhaps it’s just at a slow start. xo Wishing you a lovely weekend! Always enjoy your answers 🙂
Thank you. XO
I’ve never been on a plane! Give the book some time…it will do great, because it’s amazing!!!
Thank you , you are very kind. XO
Happy Birthday, Joanie and Sammy! As much as we miss Phoebe, at least no one confuses you with her anymore, Sammy. Yeah. We’d take Phoebe back in our lives too.
Thank you. We all miss Phoebe, I can’t believe it has been almost a year since she left us. XO
Your book will sell – it just needs time. Have you worked out a marketing strategy?
Thank you. I have been sending out press releases to newspapers and stores. I don’t have any other ideas though.
Happy Birthday Joanie and Sammy! May your Momma’s book start to sell much faster. XXX
Thank you. XO
Don’t worry about your book not selling well. Ours hasn’t been, either. But when one person tells you how reading your book touched them in a special way, it makes writing it worth it.
Thank you for the pep talk. XO
What a fun party! We like your scarves, too. We’d love to read your mom’s book. Have her send us her payment info and we’ll talk our mom into it. 🙂
Thank you, you are so sweet. XO
We’re sure your book sales will pick up. Bummer on a vet visit on your birthday but we hope the results were good.
The Florida Furkids
Thank you. He got good results 🙂
Joanie & Sammy look so happy! That sure is a nice cake and festive bandannas. How fun that they’ll celebrate again with the Great One. I love your #4 answer. Regarding your book, I think you need to give it a time. Plus, I’ve heard that it takes a lot of promoting. That’s definitely not something I would be good at. I think, though, with time, sales will absolutely pick up. I know I’ll be buying it for sure.
Thank you, that is very sweet of you. I appreciate your support. XO
Lovely card!
My mum sympathises with you. She is so disappointed with her book sales too. There are just so many books out there and as writers and bloggers, it’s important to keep up with the self-promotion.
We will check out your book and we’re sure it’ll start selling!
Thank you. Books are tough to sell. Thank you 🙂 XO
Oh no, the vet on his birthday, poor Sammie! We think he probably didn’t know the difference, and at least there’s a second celebration coming up anyway!
I imagine books are as difficult as blogs or anything else you try to sell too, really. It takes a lot of time and patience.
Is there something we can do to help? Write a review maybe? Is there a post about it we could share on social media? (sorry I can’t remember)
Yes, it does take a lot of time and patience 🙂 Thank you for your offer to help spread the word 🙂 XO
The look so cute in their birthday attire.
Thank you 🙂
Great answers and our Female Human says don’t be discouraged about the book, these things take a while and she also tried to find it on Amazon. We’ll have her check again later.
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Oliver
Thank you. XO

Really, MOM!?! A vet visit on his special day?
You’d better milk that for all you can, Sammy!
I am a meanie.:)
You went on a cruise? You went to PR? You sure are lucky. We bet that was soooooo cool. We’re sorry your book isn’t doin’ well. we’re sendin’ hugs and purrayers.

I guess it was, but I have no desire to ever go again 🙂 XO
