Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. Before we get started we want to offer condolences to Colehaus Cats who had to say goodbye to beautiful Ruby. If you haven’t visited yet, be sure to click on the link above.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that I have a Grammie person. She is the best! Look what she bought for me. I was so happy, I did a handstand.

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this photo:

Juicy and so sweet
all animals enjoy it
mmmm….watermelon.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  1. Lucky you! A big container of TREATS! That would make anyone do a handstand. As for your haiku about watermelon – it’s GREAT – watermelon is very inspiring on a hot day isn’t it!!! Thanks for playing poetry with us on Thursdays.

    Love, Teddy

  2. Meowser, Ms. Ellen, those are interesting questions.
Katsu and I are also very sorry about Ms. Ruby, but dare to hope that she’s become a new guardian angel.

  4. I hate it when our babies go to the bridge. I went over yesterday and left a comment paying my respects.

Grammie sure knows how to do treats. We all like that.

    Love the poem. Too cute.

I’m all ready for Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your peeps. ♥

  5. That’s so sad about Ruby. What a pretty face.

I like that excited pose! Too cute.

The watermelon image reminds me of something I saw of an otter who looked like he hated himself for continuing to chew on a piece of watermelon. Cracked me up. Be well!

  6. We think we would do pawstands for a big box of treats like that too!!!

And how we all love wallymelon!!!

  8. Mommy said seeing the melon got her tastebuds to going. SO good.

    Let Mommy try the fill-ins.

    1. I am going… Mommy is going to resume more of her long long long walkies. (It’s a heart rate issue.) (over now).

    2. I want to be more… active with volunteer work.

    3. Once in a blue moon… I (only) consider attending a big blow-out type of event.

    4. I have a large…(gigantic) collection of books.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am glad your Mommy can resume her walks. I have a large collection of books too 🙂 XO

  9. I don’t think I had any good watermelon this summer but your picture makes me want to try one last time. Gramma’s can be pretty special, can’t they? Did she buy you a party sized jar of treats or that cat tree. It looks like it’s got a secret exit.

  10. We had a cat who loved cantaloupe, but Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red aren’t at all interested.
Hope all the cats will share that huge jar of treats! Such a nice Grammie.
We visited Colehaus Cats – so sad.
    xxoo

  11. Luke loves watermelon! We tried planting some in our garden this year, but so far we only have a couple little tiny ones…not sure if they’ll grow big enough before autumn gets here!

    1. What variety did you grow? My hubby started them early and covered them for a long time.

  12. It’s nice to hear that your grammie is still delivering treats. Trouble, that is an adorable photo of you. We were so sad to hear about Ruby. Our mom loves watermelon. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  13. Our thoughts, purrs, and prayers are with sweet Ruby’s family. It’s so sad to see so many friends making the trip to the Rainbow Bridge.

Trouble, your Grammie brought you a jackpot! Those are the favorite treats of the kitties around here, too. Though, they’ve never tried doing a handstand for them. They sure want to try now, though. Of course, your poem is purrfect, too! This here human loves watermelon.

    I can’t wait to read your fill-ins!
