Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We are joining Ten Things of Thankful and Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hops.

Today is Rubber Duckie Day so our art was made at Facein the Hole-

Sammy with rubber duckies

Here are my 10 thankfuls:

  1. Thankful I have room in the attic to store the Christmas tree still standing ( I did remove the ornaments.
  2. free magazines from the library!

every January the town library gives away magazines. I scored some Writing ones, House Beautiful, HGTV, Prevention and some cooking ones too. It looks like I cleaned them out, but there were two tables filled with the, so I barely made a dent.

3. Warmer weather, from negative temps last week to 50’s this week.

4. Hubby was able to take our spiral Christmas trees out of the ground, I really thought they were going to be there until April.

5. Emmy was a meme on Savannah’s blog-click here.

6. Thankful that Angel Phoebe’s Purrince is currently stable, he has IBD.

7.Thankful that Emmy doesn’t need heart meds and her heart is not enlarged.

8. Also thankful that Emmy’s thyorid is fine, I already have 4 cats on thyroid meds.

9. For our ginger girl , Prancie ( yesterday was Kiss a Ginger Day so we gave her lots of kisses).

10. Joanie wants to do the last one-

I iz thankful that Gremmie uses the potty now.

  1. Effie isn’t honestly a paragon of gratitude, but I think she deserves everything anyway. A feral kitty has shown up and pals with Torvald, Halvor’s brother. I have befriended the feral, giving him food, and he even let me pet him while he ate. Vic has been feeding Torvald and the feral, whose tentative name is Paladin, in the morning. Torvald is a begging opportunist, while Paladin looks up at us as we watch him eat. He has a thankful look and he rubs our hands while he eats. I admit I love his gratitude. Thankful cats win me over in a heartbeat! You and your cats are thankful, and I admire all of you!

    1. That is sweet of you to feed the ferals. I am glad they are friendly- maybe Effie wants some siblings?

  2. You have a lot to be thankful for. I wish we had an attic (or a basement). Instead, we have two storage sheds in the back yard.
I’ve developed an appreciation for checking out e-books from the library. Nothing beats free (well, nearly free if it weren’t for all the taxes we pay). But I guess I should be thankful we have enough income that we pay taxes!

  3. Pipo MOL’d at Joanie’s potty trained Gremlin:)

It got a lot warmer here, too and the snow vanished…but now we are back into the wintery mode. Its 10F, and there is about 4 inches of new snow…which is covering a layer of ice which started before the snow came down. Its a slippery mess! Thankful is Petcretary that she is off the next two days…and that its nice and warm in here..

    1. We got 2 inches of rain, much better than snow πŸ™‚ I am glad petrecary doesn’t have to go out in the slippery weather this weekend.

  4. Kiss a Ginger Day was a biggie here too! YAY! I’m happy to see that Gremmie uses her pink potty now – what a relief when potty training works!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Such wonderful Thankfuls, as always! We are so happy Emmy is well, and that Phoebe’s purrince is doing well, too. And, hooray, Joanie! Getting Gremmie to the potty-trained stage must have been a bit tough, but job well done. Purrs!

  6. So many wonderful things for which to be grateful. I nearly choked over the last one. ~grin~ You make me feel sort of bad because I sometimes lament over medicating one cat for a hyperactive thyroid. On that note, need to pick up some more of her pills. Be well and stay warm. It’s 14 degrees F here this morning.

    1. SOme cats are tough to pill. The 4 I pill now are easy. We get their thyroid meds at Walmart, much cheaper than through the vet.

  7. Great work getting Christmas stored in the attic until it is needed again.

    That’s wonderful news about Emmy.

Joanie, you are a good gremlin trainer.

  8. That’s a lot of good stuff to be thankful for. You did an excellent job.

Have a purrfect 10 things thankful. My best to your mom. β™₯

  10. That is a nice list, and you reminded me that I want to make a closet in my attic just to store the Christmas tree. Nothing worse than putting the tree together just to find out half the lights no longer work.

  11. Those are some mighty good things to be thankful for.Emmy so glad that you don’t need heart medication and that your thyroid is O.K. Good news that Gremmie is using the potty. You all have a great day.

  12. Glad your kitties are doing well.

Sending a kiss to your beautiful ginger girl Prancie for yesterday!

    Purrs xx

  13. I have a friend who doesn’t even remove the ornaments. She just wheels the decorated tree out to her huge garage, covers it, and waits for next year!

    1. That is a good idea. I have to go upstairs so I can’t do that or they would all fall off.

  14. Happy Rubber Duckie Day! On No. 10 at first I read Gremmie as Grammie and couldn’t figure out why she didn’t use the potty. MOL! We’re back in the freeze this weekend.

  15. Now that’s convenient, not having to fold up your Christmas tree!
I get a bunch of free magazines in the mail. I don’t know why or who is sending them. One is “Midwest Living” which seems kind of odd for someone that lives in New England!

  16. Like # 2 and 3
Magazines! I don’t get to read them hardly at all, anymore. There’s something about them, like if books were shoes, magazines are comfortable slippers.
3 same here (southern New England) worth the downpours to get rid of the snow. snow on the ground makes the cold weather colder.

  17. We’re fankful to have all of you in our lives. We think you’re all just gawjus. And we’re glad to hear some good news. We’re sendin’ hugs and purrayers fur all.

    Luv ya’

  18. It was so fun to come and find all the wonderful furkid updates on your family! I know that each and every one holds a precious place in your heart just like mine do! I love how their purrsonalities differ just like humans do. Our six (with the new additions) keep us constantly laughing.

I love that we are able to store our Christmas tree away in one piece too, with the lights still in place so they won’t have to be redone next year! Decorating is much more fun when you can skip that step and go right to the pretty ornaments. Do your furkids leave yours alone? Mine never messed with a single one this year, I was so proud of them!

I love your magazine catch from the library, they are so expensive to buy, but fun to relax and read. I am a big believer in sharing magazInes that come into our house, and books too!

It sounds like you have good medical reports for your babies, and I know what a relief that can be. Wishing you a warm and wonderful year ahead! XOXO

    1. Thank you. My cats are very good with the tree. I put crocheted ornaments on the bottom for them, but they rarely touch them. I hope you have a wonderful year too. XO

  19. From the negatives to the 50’s is quite a difference! We went from the 50’s to snow on the ground in a matter of days, and I thought that was a change!
