My answers:
1. I wish normal length skirts and dresses would come back in style. Everything is either way above the knee or almost to the floor- can’t there be something in-between?
2. I always have cat treats in my purse, mainly for my niece’s cats, but also to feed any stray I happen to encounter.
3. I think that I am am allergic to MSG, every time I eat anything with it, my hands and feet get extremely itchy.
4. People not saying thank you when I hold a door for them is a pet peeve of mine.
We are also joining Angel Sammy today for Bacon’s Shopping Around the World. This month is a vegetarian recipe. This is for stuffed shells right off the Ronzoni box with a few changes.
Cheese Filled Stuffed Shells
1 Package (12oz) Ronzoni Jumbo Shells   $2
4 cups (32oz) ricotta cheese $4.99
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded $2
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese $2.50/bag
2 eggs $1.49/dz
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 jar (32oz) spaghetti sauce- not the kind with meat $2

Prepare pasta as directed and drain.

Meanwhile, mix together cheeses, eggs, parsley, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Fill cooked shells with cheese mixture.

Cover bottom of roasting pan with some of the sauce. Place filled shells on top of sauce then pour the rest of the sauce over shells and bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese.

  1. I remember when maxi-dresses and midi-dresses were popular. Everyone was already wearing mini-skirts. I was in junior high school, and our Chorus got maxi-dresses for concerts. We thought it was so elegant! Of course, this was 45 years ago!

    Bill keeps cat and dog food in his truck to feed strays. It is a good deed.

    I know someone who gets headaches from MSG. Be careful not to get a severe reaction. That can be dangerous.

    I agree about manners with doors. Many people just let it slam on others!

    Your recipes are always so good! And you always have good answers, too. HUGS.

    1. That is sweet of Bill to carry treats with him. I usually take a Benadryl when I have msg now. Very sad how bad so many people’s manners are. I hope you try the shells. Thank you. XO

Thanks for Shopping with us this month………AND your fill-ins are grand – I also hate it when I hold a door for someone and they just walk right through like I “owed” it to them to be polite……….whatever happened to THANKING people for random acts of kindness?!?!?!

  8. Ellen, It’s rare people say, thank you for any reason let alone if you hold the door for them. They are rude and inconsiderate. Don’t get me going. I on the other hand always say thanks or give a nod of acknowledgment or flash a cheerful smile or all three but never do I say nothing. I prefer dresses and skirts above the knee. Partly is the style suits me better and another part is wearing shorter dresses/skirts make me feel younger. 🙂 Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure when I’m 80 or 90 I won’t be wearing a mini-skirt but then again maybe I will. At least I won’t have to worry with tripping on my hem. lol Mmm, that recipe sounds yummy! Anything with cheese has to be good, right? Thanks for hosting the fill-in fun and have a good weekend! 😉

  9. Fantastic answers! I agree with you 100% on #1. I don’t understand today’s fashion, at all. I pretty much live in jeans and a t-shirt at work, and then switch over to sweatpants and well, another t-shirt once I get home. I also often have cat and dog treats in my purse, for the same reason as you. And I love learning new recipes, and this one sounds delicious! Thank you for hosting this fun challenge each week!

    1. Thank you. I rarely wear dresses, but when I need one for an event, I wish there were better choices. That is good that you have treats with you too. I am glad you like the challenge, I always enjoy your answers.

  11. That stuffed shell recipe took Mom right back to being a little girl and sitting at the table while her Nana made them….same recipe too!!!

    Great Fill-ins! Mom should carry cat treats too. There’s a cat at Church she knows would like them.

  15. Stuffed shells are one of my absolute favorites but I’ve never tried to make them at home. This recipe looks perfect! I like your idea of carrying cat treats in your purse … I don’t normally use a purse, but I might change my mind just for that reason. We hope all of you have a great weekend 🙂

  17. How nice that you always have cat treats in your purse! That is so sweet. Yes, not saying thank you seems rude, especially when you’re holding the door for them! I think holding the door for others is a really nice gesture. I like mid-length skirts & dresses too. Of course, I’m so unconcerned with fashion that I’ll just wear them anyway. They’re probably hard to find in the stores if you want to buy a new one though.

    Your recipe sounds yummy! I’m keeping that one.

  18. I don’t carry my purse when I go for my evening walks, so I don’t store any kibble or treats in it, but it’s a good idea! I’d leave some in my coat pockets, but I’m sure the smell would make Angle and Chuck raid them while I am away at work.

  20. We love these fill-ins! Our Mom says she doesn’t like it when people don’t say thank you for simple, yet important things, either. She also says don’t get her started on people’s attitudes so we’ll just let that go today. Your recipe sounds positively delicious!

    I have a hot burning sensation on my ears and they itch when I eat anything with nitrates (a certain kind of preservative). Wonder if MSG is in the preservative

  27. 1. I wish mens suits with the two vents, one on each side would come back in fashion. They were slightly more fitted too. I loved the hair of the 90’s on guys too. Look at MacGyver re-runs. WHEW!

    2. I always have lipstick and a mirror in my purse.

    3. I think I may have an allergy to pure chocolate. I will sneeze 25-30 times. Tragic.

    4. My pet peeve is: Doors at a store way slamming shut as I get to them. The person before me letting them hit me of I am not fast enough. (I am).

  32. TW always carries both canned and dry cat food for the strays but hasn’t seen one for a long time. She thought she’d see the Prk Cats this week cos it’s 70 degrees out.
    1. I wish Pawpawties would come back in style. They were so much fun but one person had to spoil it for everyone.
    2. I always have (answer for TW is above) in my purse ( or wallet for men). I always have fake credit cards in my wallet. Heh heh.
    3. I think that I shall bite Pop tonight.
    4. Not getting my litter box cleaned right away is a pet peeve of mine.

    1. That is sweet of TW to have cat food with her. I never heard of a pawparty. Did you bite your Pop? I can see why not having your litter cleaned would be a pet peeve.

  33. Back in the day we would have drooled thinking about that yummy recipe! Don’t think we can justify or remake it though…too bad it sounds super delish!

    We enjoyed your answers! I have thought about carrying treats, but dog-guy has such a keen sniffer that if I happen to have one in a coat pocket he starts nosing it as soon as I hang it up on the coat rack! Next step would be a hole in my pocket…

    1. I too wish longer dresses/skirts would come back in style, not to mention some nicer colors and maybe more modest necklines.

    2. I always have my asthma rescue inhaler in my purse even though I might only use it once or twice a year…when you need it you *need* it!.

    3. I think that I would love to volunteer/work in a pet shop or shelter when I no longer work in the nursing home. That would keep me out of mischief!! MOL! .
    4. Dirty kitchen and bathroom sinks are a pet peeve of mine, though don’t look around the rest of our den. Tee-hee!

My skirts are probably just a little bit too far above the knee – not obscene – but perhaps pushing it a bit, but I find being on the short side, it makes me look rather squashed if I don’t give that extra 1/2 inch. But like I know how to walk and sit and NOT bend over, please I’m a lady! haha
    Ugh, so many people not saying thank you when I held a door or let them pass by at that venue. So. Much. Rude. oye.
