Hi everyone! Happy Chinese New Year!Β This is the year of the rooster, which happens to be my sign. It is odd that there is a dog, but no cat. Yesterday, I read on another blog an interesting and fun explanation as to why that is. ToΒ read about it click here.
I like having the new year start later in January, maybe I will finally start working on some of my goals for 2017. And if I don’t, there is always the Jewish New Year in September.
We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. I used Photofunia to make a fortune cookie for all of you.
Happy New Year! In Vietnam, they do celebrate the Cat, instead of the Rabbit. So, I guess it depends on where you go! Hugs!
I didn’t know that about the cat in Vietnam. Happy New Year! XO
Year of the Rooster – does this mean we get extra chicken?
Yes, it does here π
Thanks for the mention! Glad that you enjoy the little Chinese story!
You’re welcome. Thanks for visiting.
Happy Chinese new year to you too! My favorite way to celebrate is with some Chinese food but the restaurants are so packed already. I think the Tiger is close enough to the cat, but the story you linked was interesting indeed. I am year of the Dragon but I don’t think it matches me very well.
We had Chinese food takeout tonight π
I hope dat means extra chikken!
My momma is Year of the Tiger – the big kitty!
I will make sure the kitties here gets lots of chicken.
MOL…you are the funniest chick ever, Miss Ellen π I think a New Year can start any day too π Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend π <3
Thank you π XO
Roosters…….they’re kind of bossy and noisy but they ARE pretty darn close to yummy chicken so I say YAY for the YEAR OF THE ROOSTER!
Hugs, Angel Sammy
Happy Year of the Rooster! I am a rooster and my Mom says I am bossy π XO

Happy Year of the Rooster!
Same to you π
A very Happy New Year of the Rooster. Sounds like a good idea to us. Have a great week end.
Thank you- a happy year to you too!
I like your view of it. Now we have a second chance at making the new year count! And I guess now it does make sense to us that there is no year of the cat. A kitty’s gotta sleep! Purrs to all of you!
Very true, sleep is most important to kitties.
I used to have a blog called Romeo Rooster. He hung around a bunch of ducks. I think he thought he was one.
That is funny.
Why no extra Christmas?
Good point.
thanks for sharing the link to the story that was neat π
You’re welcome.
Happy year of the rooster. I hope it’s a good one!
I hope it is a good one for all.
Have a fabulous day!
Thank you, you too!
Feliz Ano Novo para vocΓͺs!

Happy Chinese New Year!
oooh, we like Summer’s suggestion! That sounds lip-smacking good!
It does. π
We loved the Zodiac story. Poor Cat. Poor Rat! At least there is a Tiger, so felines are represented.
Good point, I like big cats too.
Thanks for the link. What a fun story, and now Mom feels better about being the sign of the Ox. Ooh, we hope the fortune cookie predicts the truth. 2016 was cr@ppy. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
I hope the fortune cookie is correct too. XO
Oh, I definitely needed a delayed new year too, this is perfect! It didn’t take long into the new year for all my plans to go awry, so it’s good to know I can start all over again now.
Same here. I need another in February and every other month too. π
I’ve wondered why there’s no Year of the Cat either so I’m off to check it out!
There should be a cat.
Happy Chinese New Year! Let’s celebrate with some chicken!
Good idea π We had chicken fingers.
No cat? Are they kidding/??
The Florida Furkids
Now I am craving Chinese food!!
We had some for supper last night and leftovers tonight π
Happy Lunar New Year! We saw some great fireworks the other night. They were too loud though. Love the art idea. Pop always manages to get the best fortunes like “you will be hungry soon. order takeout” and “dogs have owners; cats have staff.” Those were his real fortunes.
I am glad we didn’t have fireworks. Those are funny fortunes π
Happy year of the Rooster guys!!
The P.A. already read her ‘monkey’ horoscope and dads ‘sheep’ horoscope fur the rooster year then wished she hadn’t!!! MOL MOL She says she’s going to stick with Astrologyzone.com MOL
purrs
Basil & Co xox
I hope they have a good year.XO
Yay, that’s my sign too!
I hope you have a great year!
Mom’s not sure what sign I am since I was already adult cat when she adopted me. I like your reader’s comment that in Vietnam they “Celebrate the Cat.” I need to visit there! Mom likes to buy Chinese New Year stamps as a tradition she started in our household. I hope your kitties have good fortune all year!
Thank you. I hope you have a good year too.
LOL embracing all the New Years. Love that π
Any reason to celebrate π
