  1. I always enjoy your answers! We use candles, but in places no one can get to, and even then rarely. I think regifting them is perfectly fine! Oh, yum. I love spinach dip, too! I agree…Cats make everything better! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I am very careful and put a post it on it to know who gave it to me so I don’t give it to anyone in front of them. Cats do make everything better. Have a great weekend! XO

  2. Regifting candles…hummmm…I love candles. None of my cats have ever had anything to do with candles. Of course, I make sure I stay in the room with the candle at all times because of the remote possibility of fire. I’m going to look into these CatLadyBoxes during Black Friday…I believe they’re half price. You know I love spinach but have never tried a dip. I must be daring and try, this year.

    1. I have so many cats that I don’t want to take any chances. I am going to post the dip recipe for Bacon’s shopping day.

  3. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. We aren’t much into candles here unless the power goes out. It is too hot for that extra heat and we could set the house ablaze.
    Have a great weekend.

  4. Your Mom is very brave to go out shopping on Black Friday. But I reckon there are lots of great deals. Good for you Noel for letting the Mom what to get. You all have a great day.

  5. My wife has a nose like a bloodhound and is offended by odors beyond the rage of the human nose. Therefore, she loves candles and always leaves them burning in empty rooms. I hate that and will often put them out if I think I can get away with it. 🙂

  6. Great answers! I’m with you on #1. I don’t light candles either and have very few of them. The only one I really have that I pay any mind to is a vanilla caramel one, which smells delicious. I’ll occasionally opens its lid just to sniff it, but I never light it. Your #4 is just about identical to mine. More time with the furbabies is the best! Happy Friday, and have fun shopping with your mom!

  7. Our Mom enjoys shopping too, as long as it’s sane. She wanted us to tell you that she uses flameless candles by Inglow, found at places like Joanne’s fabric. They have the most realistic flickers, but completely safe, just add batteries.

  8. Noel, we think you should not be telling Mom Ellen what to buy but to stay home with you and the gang. Mom didn’t feel like writing a post yesterday, so we didn’t do the fill-ins. We will probably do them as part of our Saturday post. Spinach appetizer sounds yummy to our mom. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  9. Wonderful fill in answers. Mom love love loves the flameless candles. She doesn’t like all the smells with real candles either
    Hugs madi your bfff

  10. Ellen, who didn’t eat too much yesterday? Isn’t that what holidays are partly for to eat more than you’re supposed to, right? Actually, I’m doing better at not stuffing myself like I did in my 20s. I’ve sorta got a better hang on not overdoing it. Instead of feeling like I’m going to explode, I now just feel a little too full. I need to work on this more. Maybe one day I’ll get it figured out. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun. Have a blessed Thanksgiving weekend with family and kitties!

  11. Yesterday I remembered how much work and hours go into a meal eaten in less than 40 minutes…..and then there’s the clean up. BUT it’s always fun to sit down with good friends and family!

  12. I think we all ate too much yesterday. LOL I don’t light candles either because of the cats. Too dangerous. Have a great weekend!

  13. I have candles on the table when we have friends around for a meal, but they are never left unattended.
I have never re-gifted anything but one year I gave my brother and his wife a lovely pair of cat salt and pepper shakers. Two years later I got them back. I don’t think they ever remembered that I had given them in the first place. I didn’t mind though because I always try and buy gifts that I would like to receive myself.

  14. When we used to have a fireplace, our mom used it for a display of candles. Fun to look at, no mess to clean up, and the glass doors kept us cats safe. (Or we guess now just Caroline was safe, since none of the rest of us lived at the house.)

  15. I have candles but only in places the cats can’t get to and I never leave them unattended. The Black Friday thing just puzzles me. I like to shop when the stores aren’t crowded and there is no or little waiting in line to check out. Having extra time with the catkids is always good.

  16. Great answers. TW was cleaning today and discovered all the candles she used to burn. I never messed with the flame but she stopped burning them anyway.

    1. Yesterday, TW had a freak accident and may have broken her shinbone.
    2. We’re not proud, we regift any gift we can’t use even stuff I win that I can’t use.
    3. My favourite holiday leftover is TURKEY but the peeps love the leftover stuffing.
    4. The best part of a long, holiday weekend is having Pop home 4 days rather than two.

    1. Thank you for your answers. I am sorry about TW’s shinbone-ouch! I am glad you got your Pop for 4 whole days. XO

  17. Same story here – our Cashew ate so many of his treats, that they ended up all over my kitchen floor in reverse 🙁
I love candles! I am burning one right now — but for years, when my kids were young and still using my furniture as a jungle gym, I didn’t burn any.

  18. I ate way too much, too! I always do at Thanksgiving. 🙂
I love spinach dip, too. It’s great! What do you eat it with? We’ve had it with Ritz crackers before and it is pretty good that way.

    Have a blessed week!

  19. We hope Noel was telling you all the good stuff to get! He sure looked like he knew what he needed to tell you!

    1. Yesterday,we were not able to eat our feast meak until amost 830 pm…it was one of those days at our den….
    2. Sometimes I regift things that I know someone else will not be aware of, MOL! But not very often. I have given unused gifts to charity after several years of them gathering dust while I wait for the giver to forget about who got it:) Silly me!.
    3. My favourite holiday leftover is homeade cranberry relish, the spicy kind with ginger and pepper…hot stuff! And pie; I need to make pumpkin pie every week! .

    4. The best part of a long, holiday weekend is relaxing from regular routines, even if it means being busy in the kitchen, because I don’t do that too often anymore…since we are empty nesters we just have plain fare, but I will get ‘fancier’ when the boys are here. As if eating Paleo style can be called fancy, MOL! .

    1. Thank you for your answers. I have never had that kind of cranberry sauce- ours is canned 🙂 Sorry your feast was so late.
