Hi everyone! I have an adorable children’s book to tell you about today. Purrball Meets Burrball in Brazil by Anne Zoet is the sweetest children’s picture book I have seen in a long time. The illustrations are adorable and I love that Purrball is blue.
Purrball’s family ( a Mom, Dad and little boy named Darryl) are moving to Brazil for a year. When they arrive at the airport, there is an earthquake and Purrball runs away. He ends up in the jungle and befriends a sloth he names Burrball.
I like how modern the story is which includes a cell phone. I also like how they keep Purrball in the plane with them instead of in cargo. I look forward to more books about the adventures of Purrball and Burrball. You can even go to their website purrballandburrball.com and download puzzles and mazes for children. This book is for ages 3-9, but I am going to start reading it to “The Great One” now even though she is only 10 months old. I guess I will have to wait a while for her to do the puzzles though π
You can order your own copy from Amazon.
*Disclaimer: I was given a copy of Purrball Meets Burrball for free in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are my own.
For P.S. Annie’s 19-Somethin Challenge, the question is Did you ever have big hair? I didn’t blow dry it out to look big, but I do appear to have big hair in some photos. I wanted to scan one in, but had technical difficultiesΒ ( meaning I was too stupid to figure out how to scan).
I am a day late, but joining the kid lit version of It’s Monday! What Are You Reading hosted by Teacher Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers.
Next to kitties and pandas, we think sloths are the coolest animals around. *I* would like to have a sloth as a friend, I think. Well, those giant claws are a little skeery-looking, but they do seem kinda slow with them and I’m pretty fast, so it would prolly be okay. I am not sure I want to go on a plane though. We enjoyed your story!
The sloth wasn’t on the plane, he was in the jungle which is where the kitty ran when he got scared π Thanks for visiting us Spitty.
I have been hearing so many awesome things about this book!
It is very cute.
My niece would LOVE this book. Phoebe, you always take a fantastic picture π
Phoebe thanks you and I know your niece will love it.
The right age human kids will love this book!
This 47 year old giant child loved it π
This book sounds so adorable! We’re hoping to read it one day!
You will love it π
That sounds like a cute book. I think that it is great that you’re reading to the baby. The earlier children are read to, the better. Maybe she’ll grow up to be an avid reader, too. π
I don’t think that you’re stupid at all. Sometimes these technical things just defy all logic and aren’t going to work for anything, no matter what we try. I’m there pretty often myself. π Thanks for joining our 19-Somethin’ challenge.
Have a blessed day!
She already turns the pages on her little books that are hard and thick. Thank you for saying I am not stupid, I sure feel like I am with all things computer oriented.
Purrball sounds cool. Scanners can be temperamental. I had a time getting the one I had been using for years with no problem to work when the computer upgraded itself from Windows 8 to Windows 10.
My new computer has windows 10 so that may be the problem.
That sounds like a very sweet story. My mum had big hair, but not intentionally. It was because it was very thick. It was okay when it was long, but when she had it cut to shoulder length it fuzzed out everywhere.
It is very sweet just like you Flynn π My hair had the same problem π
Sounds like a cute little read! You always find the cutest books to read!
Hugs, Sammy
It is very cute π

That is good, then they will make more stories about them π
This sounds like a wonderful tale, and like you I appreciate that it has modern features children will relate to. It is great to mix reality and fantasy and show children that life can be a little bit of both! Great review! π
Thank you, I am glad you liked the review.
It’s a great book!
I loved the illustrations- so cute π
This sounds like an adorable book! I love it when children’s books involve animals – especially cats. π It looks like your kitties are enjoying the story too! Those illustrations are darling.

We loved Purrball! It’s such a cute book. I won’t even tell you what Mommy is reading… OK… I will.. STILL one of the Outlander books!
SHe must be busy and not have time to read as often as I do.
It sure is a good thing that burrball is a friendly type!
He is very sweet.
Sounds like a cute story. I’ve always been captivated by sloths.
It is a cute book π
Hi efurrybuddy, We are trying to get into much better visiting habits these days! You have been such loyal furiends even when my stoopy Human was running around doing all KINDS of stoopy stuff that didn’t help ME at all. But I gave her a talking to, so we hope we are going to be better now. XOXOXO
We know your human is busy Spitty, but it is nice to see you sometime π XOXOXOXO
So looking forward to reading Fifth Season and Obelisk Gate soonest.
So many books, so little time to read.
Never ever is it too early to read to a wee one. That is good for a lot of reasons, and we are glad you are doing that! We did read to our boys from the moment they came home, even the newspaper sometimes when they were on a lap and it wasn’t really ‘lap-time’. It is a sweet book, and Zoet is a Dutch word for sweet:)
Big hair?? Not anyone in our family…but our unfur-uncle he had built in big hair, he has an ‘afro’ if he lets it grow that way…the envy of many a gal, MOL! He used to hate it but now he is in fashion…us 2 gals did not have curls, let alone long enough hair to make it ‘big’.
I read it to her and she seemed to like it. I did have to keep it at a distance so she wouldn’t rip it or eat it though π She already turns the pages in her little hard books that are more baby friendly.
