Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
I am thankful that my 2 great nieces and great nephew have a big village. They are all playing basketball and some games are at the same time, but there are enough of us, even with one set of grandparents wintering in Florida, that every kid has an audience. The Great One scored 2 baskets at her last game. The Boy doesn’t actually have games, it is just a clinic to practice. They have different colored balls and he didn’t get a purple one so that was it, he was not participating. I give him credit for holding his ground. From an early age we get trained to accept less than we want or deserve. I hope he always holds out for the purple ball.
I am also thankful that at The Great One’s game, Typhoid Mary and The Boy had me sit between them because they both wanted to sit with me. That made me very happy.
This photo is hard to see, but the fire from the fish toy ended up in the cabin so it looked like an attempted arson. Good thing I noticed and removed it. 🙂
I have a favor to ask for Typhoid Mary. She is a Girl Scout and set a goal of selling 150 boxes. She is almost there, 33 left to go. I realize you all live far away so delivery is not an option. They do mail them for orders over 4 boxes if anyone really likes cookies. There is another option of donating one to the military. No pressure, I just thought I would ask just in case anyone wants to do that. Thank you.

I skipped the poem yet again.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

I bet the games are fun indeed for the kids! Purple is a good color. Love the picture! XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I am sorry that the fish toy was hazardous.
How sweet that your ‘greats’ love you so much…all your time spent with them is paying off…memories, love and good times all in a ‘package’ to savor always!
That’s kind of funny about the purple ball.LOL!
Thank you. 🙂 I am blessed. Yes, I found it amusing, his parents not so much. 🙂 XO
It’s great that all three children enjoy playing the game. And that there are parents and grandparents to participate in the audience. Sports is very necessary for children’s growth I think.
Thank you. 🙂 Even great grandparents as my mom goes too. 🙂 XO
I had to smile at the purple ball episode with The Boy!! Been there ad lived with that!!!
I bet you did-many times. 🙂 XO
How sweet the ‘greats’ want to sit with you. That’s a cute story about the purple ball. Good luck to Typhoid Mary selling Girl Scout cookies, and I hope she reaches her goal.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
We’re glad the fish toy didn’t do more damage. We agree about the purple ball!
Thank you. 🙂
You are lucky to have your “greats” living nearby. You enrich each other’s lives.
Yes, they are about 25 minutes away which seems too far to me. Thank you. 🙂
Sounds like you had a good time at the game being in the middle 🙂
Purrs Winnie

Thank you. 🙂 Yes, it is. I am not a sports fan and never played any- maybe that is why I am so odd. 🙂 XO
Good for The Boy in holding out for purple. One of my favorite colors.
Mine too. 🙂
Ellen, we want to buy 6 and donate them to the military or wherever they are needed. That helps her get down to 25….But I see no place to say they are for donations and I just wish to pay and let them do the rest. How to do that???
Thank you. 🙂 That is sweet of you to donate. I emailed you the instructions to find the donation part. XO
they sure are lucky lots of people can see their games!
Thank you. 🙂 I wish all kids were so blessed. XO
The purple ball is a lesson to live by! Good for The Boy. Ellen, there is so much to be said for being loved and needed. Very sweet of The Boy and Typhoid Mary… you are a most fun and “cool” Great Aunt. What do kids say now for “cool”? You are making wonderful memories for them… you have been doing that for them for a long time☺️
Awww..thank you. I hope they will remember the fun we have. XO
What fun to be able to take turns going with different kids to their games/practices. I’ll bet they all enjoy having you there.
I donated 4 boxes, I remember when my girls did the cookie sales.
Thank you. 🙂 That was so kind of you. XO
Those are wonderful thankfuls. Glad you’re enjoying time with the kids.
Thank you. 🙂 I enjoy every minute with them.
Love the fish in that pic. But probably a good idea to move it so there won’t be a problem with the fire.
Thank you. 🙂
Sorry I missed this post BUT I agree that you are the very best Aunt those kiddos could possibly have. You are involved in everything they do, they know you are going to always be there for them. It’s a very SPECIAL gift and relationship. You AND THEY are lucky!
Hugs, Pam
Thank you for your kind words. XO
Charlee: “Good on The Boy for holding out for the purple ball! Our Dada of course would’ve been holding out for the orange ball, if there was one.”
Chaplin: “Good thing you caught that fish before it burned down the cabin! See, I knew there was a reason we should eat them.”
I don’t think they had orange.
Hugs, my dear. You’re awesome.
Thank you. XO
We love that they wanted to sit between you, it made us smile big😊Good on the boy…purple is so our color too…MOL…Our twofeet niece and nephew are scouts too. They still like it, the boy is now a water scout, he’s 17 and the girl…well…she scouts along, she’s 14. Hope Typhoid Mary continues to be such a great scout.Crossing paws with her goal😸Extra Pawkisses for all of you🐾😽💞
Thank you. 🙂 Not sure how long Typhoid Mary will be a scout, this is year 3 for her. Her sister quit after 2 yrs. XO
