Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful for a perfect Easter spent with my hubby, mom, niece and her family. It was so nice to have The Great One and Typhoid Mary hunting for eggs. And the day before was perfect too as their baby brother was baptized. And there was cake- I am always thankful for cake. My niece gave me lots of extra cake too as she knows I REALLY like cake.
Typhoid Mary said to me on Saturday, ” I get to see you 2 days in a row.” And I replied, ” I am lucky” and she said ,” I am too. ”
We are also joining Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day. And here is the photo prompt provided:
Sleeping on a bed of ice,
I think that sounds pretty nice.
To enjoy that there must be a cause
that would be hot flashes from menopause.
And we are up to the letter K in The A-Z Blogging Challenge. K is for kitchen stuff-plates, silverware, mugs, glasses, expired foods in the cupboard and fridge, etc,
K is also for Marie Kondo. I am sure you have all heard of her between her books and her tv show. I have read her books, but not seen her show. I think she is too harsh with the decluttering. I will never be a minimalist and I don’t want to be. I just want my hubby to get rid of some stuff like I always do. 🙂
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. ______________ is like nailing jello to a wall.
2. I could use a break from ________________-.
3. I’d like to thank _________ for _________.
4. Just in case _________, I _________.
Glad you had a nice Easter, Ellen! I’m not a fan of extreme decluttering either, though I can see a little thoughtful donating. Need to start my own museum, lol! XO
Same here. I will never be a minimalist. 🙂 XO
My kitchen should have a big de-clutter session…now that its just hubby and I…though we do need things for when there is company.
I could have used an ice bed before we had AC in our home…though actually I am allergic to extremes of cold…I have a condition called Cold Urticaria, in that I will break out in hives all over after I come out of the cold into a warm place. Ask me how many sweaters and gloves I own, LOL!
I had to go to the ER once, for a bad outbreak, before I knew I had this issue. It really isn’t to hard to avoid trouble, though.
I had not heard of that condition, it sounds awful. XO
The cake is beautiful! I wouldn’t be averse to sleeping on a bed of ice and being cool all night.
Thank you. Same here with the ice bed. 🙂 XO
Oh, we LOVE your poems and they always make us giggle. This one is a doozy! That room does look as if it could cure the hot flash blues…maybe helpful with a gin and tonic, too…take your ice pick. And mama understands too many kitchen gadgets….
Thank you. I am glad they make you giggle. XO
What a PERFECT poem for the photo this week – yes indeed – you feel like you would LIKE to sleep on ice sometimes! Also happy you had a great Easter – that cake is beautiful.
Hugs, Pam
Thank you. XO
A baptism Easter weekend. How absolutely wonderful. And needless to say, cake comes
in second.
It was wonderful. XO
Aww, that is such a sweet exchange between the two of you. You’re both very lucky xo
Thank you. I am blessed. XO
I like your poem and I like cake too but it has to be chocolate. I will never be a minimalist and I don’t want to be either. I like the little kitty that runs across the top of your site.
I prefer vanilla and that is what this was. Actually, it was funfetti. My friend added the kitty, thanks for noticing. XO
Mom heard Marie Kondo realizes how difficult her plan is now that she has children. It sounds ike you had a perfect Easter.
I saw them talking about that in the Today Show and AL Roker cracked me up. XO
Very sweet conversation with Typhoid Mary♥
I am so happy you had a wonderful Easter with family… AND CAKE! I can relate to your words about an ice bed for menOHpause. It was about 21 years ago!
Thank you. I am pretty much through it except for an occasional hot flash. XO
That cake is beautiful. I wish I had been there to celebrate with all of you. (and get a piece of that cake too).
Thank you. It would have been nice to have you here. XO
Oh do I hear you on the hot and cold body thermometer. Been there done that
Great poem
Hugs Cecilia
I don’t get them often now, but once in a while. XO
I’m glad you had a nice Easter, plus cake! Yum!
Thank you. 🙂
I prefer a happy medium with Marie Kondo’s advice too!
She is too harsh. 🙂
I’m so glad you got to see your family so much this weekend, it sounds like a wonderful time.
That ice hotel wouldn’t work for me, but anyone with hot flashes, yes. One lady who was having them used to go stand in the walk-in freezer in the kitchen at the bakery.
Thank you. It was wonderful. I wouldn’t mind a walk-in freezer sometimes. 🙂
Such super nice thankfuls, yum, cake! That was a “cool” poem too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. XO
Okay, my comments are disappearing. Those are really nice thankfuls and that was a very “cool” poem. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Sorry the comments don’t show up right away. Not sure why that is happening again. XO
Sounds like a purrfect day!
It was. 🙂
It sounds like your Easter was purrfect!
It was. 🙂
Menopause back when I was 50 Ellen. 5 years of roasting in my own skin! I thought I’d go crazy! A bed of ice would have been REAL NICE! 😉
We are VERY happy you had such a lovely Easter too!
Much <3 love <3 BellaSita Mum & ***nose kissess*** BellaDharma
Oh boy, cake. Sounds like the purrfect Easter weekend. I love the floating flowers. How did you do that? Even with hot flashes, I don’t think I would like that bed! 😻
Yes, it was. Not sure what you mean with the floating flowers? XO
Glad you had a nice time with family. Good poem.
Thank you. XO
I’ve heard of Marie Kondo and have added some of her books to my TBR — always nice to read about others decluttering, too 🙂

King of the Underworld: Hades
She is a little too strict for my taste, more of a minimalist which I will never be. 🙁
