Hi everyone! We are up to the letter J in The A-Z Blogging Challenge. J for jewelry. That is another area I am all set with. I don’t own a lot of jewelry. I have a few nice pieces that my hubby gave me when we were dating and several rings one of my neighbors gave me before she passed away in 2005. The rest is costume jewelry, mainly from those stupid Lia Sophia parties I used to get invited to years ago. Did any of you ever attend those parties?

    1. And I have never heard of those jewellery parties…
      That would be a hard thing for me to de-clutter…it fits many categories, here…inherited things, sentimental items. Valuable things, things I have made myself, and junk (LOL). My dad was a gemologist/jeweler and a watchmaker/clock-maker with his own business…that is the catch here; and my undoing for de-cluttering all the various items.

      1. Consider yourself lucky. How cool that your dad was a watchmaker and gemologist. I bet you have a lot of nice pieces. XO

  4. I clean out my jewelry box about once a year…..lots of “junk” went by the wayside last year and right now all I really have are things that are important to me. Never heard of Lia Sophia but sounds like it must have been one of those parties where you’re supposed to/expected to buy something even if you don’t need it!!!!

  8. I never heard of Lia Sophia! I only ever went (or was invited) to one jewelry party. I bought the cheapest earrings which promptly tarnished. Sigh. At least with Tupperware, you got something more useful.

    I don’t wear much jewelry but I have several nice pieces from my hubby.

  11. I’ve never been to any of these parties and wouldn’t go. The only jewelry I wear is my wedding band. That’s it.

    I wore clip- on ear rings for awhile, then became allergic to them. I need to give those away or donate ’em. XO

  14. Brody, not enough room for you up here! I can’t think of anything after reading Carole’s caption… Hahahah! I have never heard of Lia Sophia. I never went to any of those parties for buying stuff… just the introvert in me.

    1. I am an introvert and it troubled me greatly, but my niece and her boyfriend’s mom had them before she was married. XO

  15. I have a lot of junk jewellery from years back. I also have good necklaces and rings that Ivor bought me and I only wear them on cruises. I have antique bracelets and brooches my gran gave me and would never part with them even though I don’t wear them.

    As fore jewellry BellaSita has 1 jewel box that iss inn her dresser drawer. Shee had most of her necklacess an braceletss an earringss inn it. Some of her Stuffies wear some of her beaded necklacess 😉
    An shee has all her cat broochess on her Spring/Autumm jackit to snazzy it up!
    An shee wearss 9-10 of her ringss! No clutter her (unless you count her fingerss, mew mew mew……)

  22. Not much in the way of jewelry here, either. We had other parties, the Christmas stuff is one i remember.

  25. I just came from Brian’s Home where three kitties there were doing a thing called, “Coughing”. Is this what these two are doing, too? I’m really going to have to get in on this action (or lack of)! 😸

    I have a few nice pieces of jewelry other than my engagement ring & wedding band DH has gotten me over the years. I don’t wear those things much, though. I really like them so whenever we go out I try to wear a pretty necklace or bracelet that he got me. 🙂

  26. I donated most of my jewellery a couple of years ago to the Princess Project — I don’t wear a lot of jewellery and found that giving it away made me a lot happier than having it sit in a drawer.
