Thankful Thursday

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Joanie is thankful to be home with Gremmie. She had a checkup with bloodwork on Wednesday. Waiting for bloodwork results, but she gained some weight which she needed to do. And I am thankful I changed my first boy diaper and didn’t get a shower. 🙂

We are joining the poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided.

The kitchen was a horror scene
not a single dish was clean.
It’s fun when everyone celebrates
but she knew next year they’d use paper plates.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. January is a good month to ______________________.
2. My favorite kind of pizza is _______________.
3. The new year just began and I’m already _________.
4. My typical weekend involves _________.

  1. LOVE THAT POEM!!! And glad your kitty’s home, good luck on the report. We were going to try to have a New Year’s party but…still, we would have used paper plates for sure, haha.

  2. HAHAHA! Love the poem – it’s perfect – paper plates is ALWAYS the answer!! Congrats on a good vet report for Joanie AND for changing a boy diaper without getting WET…..

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. It always makes you feel good when there’s good news. And I’d say that Joaniei had a bit for now I haven’t changed baby diapers since I was a teenager and used to babysit. Don’t remember that it was a fun job, lol.

  4. I loved the poem and those would be my thoughts too, Paper plates! Do they make paper serving bowls too? Just think. For me, three boys and three times the showers!

  5. Great news about Joanie gaining weight! Fingers crossed for a good report on her blood work. I am a fan of paper plates… yes I am. We usually put them on top of our plates… Hahaha. Not always but we have been known to do that.

  6. Chaplin: “Yay, good news for Joanie! I would also like to gain weight!”
Charlee: “But you don’t need to gain weight. You are still on a diet.”
Chaplin: “I didn’t say I needed to. I said I would LIKE to.”

      1. Hi Ellen just wanted to wish your husband a happy birthday. I’m linking thru yesterday’s thankful Thursday. I can’t get on your blog so far today.
        Hugs Cecilia

  8. Those are really good thankfuls and I hope all is well with the test results. Fun messy poem too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  9. TBT: I’m glad that Joanie gained some weight; best hopes on the bloodwork.

I’ve mentioned that I changed a lot of girl baby sister diapers when I was 16/17. For a boy, I think I would do it in the bathtub and from the side. LOL!

Loved the pic and poem about the dirty dishes, noting that there seems to be a dishwasher available. I adore mine. My Dad was cheap. We were Upper Middle Class, but were last to get a window air-conditioner, a TV with a 13″ screen, a color TV, and a dishwasher. I became a sort of early-adaptor to better tech as a result.

    1. January is a good month to get rid of expired medicines and spices.
    2. My favorite kind of pizza is one I make myself.
    3. The new year just began and I’m already adjusted to 2023 on checks.
    4. My typical weekend involves not shopping, because that’s when everyone else does.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. We don’t have a dishwasher. I am planning to toss all the expired meds this weekend. 🙂 I avoid shopping on weekend too. XO

  10. Your shower comment changing the diaper made me laugh! I hope Joanie’s bloodwork results are good. That is good news that she has gained weight.
