Thankful Thursday

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Emmy and Joanie are thankful they can finally open day one of this Advent calendar from Aldi’s.

This one has a mix of soft treats, crunchy ones and squeezable ones too.

Sorry I skipped the poetry this week.

And I am thankful that my mom and I got to visit with my niece, Typhoid Mary and The Boy. The Great One was at school though. Typhoid Mary wanted to paint my finger nails so I let her. She did one hand with blue nail polish and I was pleased with it-especially for a 4 yr old. I was thinking, good, I won’t have to remove it right away. Then she tells me she will do my other hand another day. 🙂 No amount of begging would change her mind.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  1. Cute picture of Emmy and Joanie! I like the idea of blue nail polish and one hand done, I guess that’s a start. For a brief time when I was younger,I used green nail polish. It was too much trouble to continue, though. XO

  2. Enjoy your Advent calendar, Emmy and Joanie! I hope you don’t have to wait too long to get your other hand done!!

  3. YAY! We’re excited it’s now December also….our tree is up (not decorated but up) and I can have my NAPS under the tree (my favorite thing about Christmas). We can open the first day on our Advent Calendar too….woo hoo!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. I love the nail polish part the very best. One hand done and the other not done. She’s done though. I laughed out loud.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins. Thank you for Co-hosting.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. xo ♥

  5. Hahahaha… Typhoid Mary has a mind of her own. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall so I could here you trying to convince her to do the other hand. Emmy looks pretty interested in the Advent calendar. It’s cute and a great idea.

  6. Oooooooooooooooooo!

  7. If i bought an Advent calendar for my animals, my Sweetie would give them all the treats before we got a week into the month. He can’t resist when they want something.

I’m glad you got to visit with Niece, Typhoid Mary and The Boy, too.

Kids run out of energy for such projects pretty quickly. Next time, have her paint your dominant hand first and if she poops out, you can then paint your non-dominant hand yourself.

  8. Sweet photo of Emmie and Joanie and how fun to have an advent calendar ~ Be cozy ~ Xo

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

  9. Emmy and Joanie look very happy with their advent treats calendar. lol, one set of blue nails. It’ll make a good conversation starter when you’re in line shopping for stocking stuffers.
