Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that after The Great One has visited there are always reminders of her.  For example, Monday night, my hubby asked me why his pillow was so lumpy and when he lifted it up , he found these:

He has a wedge under his pillows that she likes to have her dolls ski down.  🙂 And all last year when she couldn’t come over because of COVID, I kept finding little stones that she had hidden under the bed. No matter how many times I cleaned, more showed up. 🙂

Also thankful my mom, The Great One , Typhoid Mary and I got to have a 15th birthday party for Nixon. He lived here from 2006-2011. My niece and her roomie adopted him freshman year in college, but couldn’t keep him in the dorm so he stayed here. By the way he is named after a former Red Sox player, not the president.

The Great One made the hat. She took the photo too.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I plan to ___________________ these last few days of August.

2. I am a ________________________.
3. _________ is proving difficult these days.
4. Have I ever told you about the time that I _________?
Before we go, please keep Angel Madi’s mom in your prayers as she just had surgery. To visit and wish her a speedy recovery, click here.

  1. Very sweet about The Great One and her little treasures. She is going to be a little photographer.
Nixon looks like he enjoyed his party!

    1. Thank you. I got her a kid’s camera for her 3rd birthday and she has gotten really good. Nixon didn’t enjoy his party, we pulled him out of the closet for photos and gifts. XO

      1. Well, it was fun to see him! I am sure you have talked about him but I didn’t know you took care of him for your niece.

        1. Thank you. She only lived at school one semester then commuted , but she lived here too. XO

  2. Wonderful thankful things. I’m glad you still have your mom and it’s fun to find what the little ones leave behind.

Nixon is a handsome mancat. Happy birthday.

I’m all ready for tomorrows fill-ins. Thank you for co-hosting the fun.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. xoxo ♥

  3. Awwwww……must be really fun to find little “surprises” left behind by The Great One……I bet she has fun doing that knowing you’ll find them and smile!

    Hugs, Pam

  7. Happy Birthday to Nixon!!! Mom misses all the little hidden toys from the grands. She had five of them here all day while the mothers worked – a 5 year old, 3 year old twins, another 3 year old, AND an infant!! She loved doing it, but today she wonders how she ever managed.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  8. Kids can do the most fun and amazing and perplexing things. It sounds like a fun party is being planned, i hope you all have a great time.

  9. Can’t wait to see those fill in answers! I Love oyur stories and your photos too. My father told men many stories about many ballplayers. He was a Yankee’s man and he was not a huge fan of the Red Sox but my father told me many stories of the old school ball players like Williard Nixon. Because back than times were different and players respected each other no matter whoo’s team they were on. I miss my dad and his stories. I am guessing that is who Nixon is named after. A pitcher for those mighty Red Sox. I had a little dog named Casey. I am guessing you may know who that ballplayer was too! 🙂 Take care
