Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that The Great One came over and my mom brought Typhoid Mary over for lunch.  We had a lot of fun.

I am also thankful Bridget is safe inside even if she still hides under the futon whenever I bring food to her and her sisters. They all hide. I hope someday they will at least be happy to see me. They continue to stay in their room despite the door being open. It is like there is an invisible fence that they won’t corss and my other cats won’t cross to see them.

We are joining  poetry day named after Teddy’s angel brother Sammy ‘s Poetry Day. Here is the photo prompt provided:

Classics, self-help and romance,

Sci-fi, memoir and even some to teach you how to dance.

This must be Heaven with all these books,
nope, no cats, not as good as it looks.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two. The linky stays open until Wednesday night.

  1. Glad you had fun today, Ellen! I’m also glad that Bridget and her sisters are safe inside with you. She looks like a cutie in the picture! I’ve seen ferals take a really long time to become friendlier, but some are fast learners, too. XO

  2. Play dates are great for bonding and building skills, too! Glad you all had a fun time.

Bridget and her sisfurs will eventually come out of their shells…at least we sure hope they will. At least they are warm, dry, well fed and safe. A far cry from the outside life.

  3. Such a sweetie. Hope one day they will be used to the indoors, but at least they are safe.

  4. I hope your kitties venture out at some point. They usually do, but always on their own terms. I’m glad Bridget is back home too.

    Love the poem. I agree.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins. Thank you for co-hosting the fun.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. xoxo ♥

  5. Such good thankfuls and hopefully Bridget & Co. will be thankful one of these days soon. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  6. That’s such a cute poem…..without cats the place isn’t properly decorated is it! Cats would hold down the mouse population too! We sure hope Bridget and her sisters EVENTUALLY get used to enjoying life inside the shelter of a house with REGULAR meals. They are lucky girls!

    Hugs, Pam

  7. The PO’M is ducking and hiding too; yesterday’s vet visit was too much for him.
He’s not used to watching me through the glass door all day either, as I sit at my desk working and he’s tucked into his special room.
We’ll work on him; he’s my special boy, afterall, but I feel awful that he’s cowering.

  8. Yes, the library needs a cat or two.

Ferals take time, and each takes as long as she takes. It will happen that they will come to realize they are safe and warm and fed regularly, and it will work wonders, i’m sure of it.

  9. We sure hope Bridget soon comes out to say hello along with her sisters. That poem is SUPER! MOL! Thanks my friends for fun. Hope you visit today to see how much fun we had with the Octopuss and Nip Mat!

  11. That’s exactly the way Oreo and Cookie behaved when we took them in as kittens. We gave them the guest room and left the door open. A couple of times I saw them and they wouldn’t cross over the doorway. They’d just stick their heads out. I’d call them, but then they would run under the bed. Today? They are all over the place and running the household. I’m hoping that’s what will happen for you too.

Definitely have to have cats and books. They go together!

  12. Maybe they are keeping separate because they are a family group. If we get new horses come, if there are two they will stay together for several weeks before they mingle with the other horses. If it is a single horse he will try and join the others in a couple of days or less.

  13. My goodness. They took notifications away so I haven’t been here for awhile. Your comment when clicked, does not take me to your blog. Just to the page that says the name of the blog. So I can’t go directly to you by clicking your name. It’s always been that way. I had you in my abbreviated reading list but it dropped out. In other words…SO GLAD to see you and all the kitties again! XXXOOO

  14. Some cats take a really long time learning how to trust humans and their surroundings. It’s just a matter of patience, as I’m sure you know well.

  15. I hope those sweet kitties eventually begin to venture further in your home. But for now, at least they are safe! xo
